"Have you ever felt the urge to turn on the music and boogie? Well, deny that urge no more as you train with a fully certified hologram of an alien. He'll teach you how to rumble, disco, and become a hip hop hippie!" said the television screen.
"Mom," Devon questioned,"how come you don't ever boogie with Daddy?"
"We don't have time for that" Mrs. Wilder said with an exasperated sigh,"Daddy and I have to take care of you and Amy."
But Mrs. Wilder thought about what Devon said that day as she went to bed. Hmmm...maybe I could arrange for a baby sitter to take care of Devon and Amy she thought.
The next day Mrs. Wilder asked Mr Wilder if they had anything planned for Friday night.
"No," Mr. Wilder replied,"maybe we could go out to dinner or a club"
Mrs. Wilder gave him a peck on the cheek. and thought: I have to get a new dress by Friday. Red really is my color.
Mr. Wilder left leaving Mrs. Wilder with Devon and Amy. Devon quickly finished breakfast and left for school with George and Jake.
"Bye Mommy!" he yelled as his fellow third graders and him departed for school.
Then Mrs. Wilder was alone with Amy. Hmmm-Friday night alone with a baby sitter- I can pursue my plans for world domination that day! A diabolical plan was forming in Amy's mischevous mind and there was no one who was going to stop her. You didn't read that!
Mrs. Wilder didn't notice Amy crawling out the door as she called her friend from the Quilting Club, Mrs. Trake.
"Hey Jennifer! Are you going anywhere today?" she asked.
"I was planning to go shopping at the mall for a new apron," Mrs. Trake replied.
"Great, well I'll go with you and you can help me pick out a dress!" exclaimed Mrs. Wilder. "I'm going out with Harry tomorrow night."
"I hear fireworks," teased Mrs. Trake. "We'll meet at 10:00 near the Beauty Botique."
The women chatted for half an hour on the phone. Meanwhile, Amy was constructin a contraption for world domination. You didn't read that.
"Are you ready to rumble on Friday night?' asked Mrs. Trake.
"Yes, ma'am!" exclaimed Mrs. Wilder as she hung up the phone. Friday night was a night that would be a bonding time with her husband. But it was also a night of suprises. Unhappy suprises.
