Stockholm Syndrome

No matter what happens, and the amount of men that women dream about available to me, I just can't let him go.

Climbing Up the Ladder...too Quick?

There is one thing true about Scorpios in the generic sense... we are so impatient with our careers and want to climb the ladder as fast as possible.

The last two months I've recieved a triple promotion... that's right TRIPLE. I'm THAT hungry to climb that ladder to where I need to be.

I got promoted at the London as the Assistant Front Office Manager. Kinda a big deal when you're carrying the reputation of being a Five Star Hotel in Hollywood.

I got double promoted with SBE. I started as a Host then I got promoted to a Host Supervisor. I ended up getting a successful transfer to open XIV by Michael Mina in October. Excited am I and I only have hopes that scheduling will work out between both jobs.

I'm 22 years old. What the fuck am I thinking?! Yeap, that's the reaction I get from nearly every person that I meet. Sometimes just talking about my work week tires the listener on out. 80+ hours a week including about 25 hours working the Grave Yard shift. I've already passed my six month mark which usually signifies me putting in my two weeks to abandon ship and try another hotel on out. However the difference at the London is that employees here are a revolving door, and I haven't really gotten to know a majority of the people here.

The thing I miss the most about San Diego is that the people I worked with had a family relationship. Here in Hollywood, there's no sense of that. I've learned the hard way you cannot trust anybody here. Everyone seems to capitalize on weaknesses. Sad. You've always gotta keep your fists up.

Vacation Time... Real

Friday: skip work, right when I get off from Katsuya, I randomly decided I wanted to go to San Diego at 1am in the morning instead of going home to Beverly Hills.

Get to San Diego at like 3:30am, go to sleep, wake up Saturday morning at 830am to get a much needed hair cut and color from Autumn, my lovely hair stylist of just under two years. I got to see July, another stylist and we chatted a bit as I was getting pounds of hair cut off my head and a nice hard lather.

Good thing to hear that SuperCr3w won America's Best Dance Crew. I didn't like SoRealCru at all. I pretty much felt like they were a large down grade of Kaba Modern. Always imitated and never duplicated.

I was attempting to get Matt to give me my favorite hat back. Just to give everyone a heads up about this guy, he was a guy I hooked up with who turned out to be a crazy clinger. But I just had to have my LRG hat back. Once we met for dinner and cocktails at Tower 23, he breaks the news to me that he no longer had my hat. Oh well, at least I had the scenery to make up for it.

I went back up home and had plans to watch Tropic Thunder in the case Alex (super hot bartender) from the Thompson Beverly Hills didn't call me. He did. We went to the Snake Pit, a dive bar off Melrose and had some really bad drinks and really bad food. We watched Dwyane Wade and the rest of Team USA bring home the Gold in Men's Bball. He also got a bad haircut. I didn't like the hair to be honest, I liked him with hair. I guess all those bad things was a foreshadowing of a bad hook up. I woke up the next morning and took off without saying too much.

I slept in my own bed for a couple hours, threw on a bikini and a tube dress and headed to the almighty Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. I was getting a nice tan and having a few cocktails preparing myself to go to FreeStyle Session. I had a good buzz going and decided to walk in what I was currently wearing to FreeStyle Session. I got there and ran into some old aquaintances and made some new ones. Boppin' Andrew was in love with me. I hung out with Brett, my most recent ex boyfriend who I actually met a year ago at FSS. I thought I was going to miss him, but being with him reminded me of why I broke up with him in the first place. Bboys... they're trouble.

I left FreeStyle Session and then hitched a ride with Raj to Katsuya. I had dinner with one of my former employees and her boyfriend and had a great time. I was on my way home when I thought to give good ol Justin a buzz. On his way back from work and having a drink.

Justin, is the love of my sex life. Needless to say, I woke up the next morning feeling like a million bucks. The reason why I'm drawn to him is not only because he's the love of my sex life, but we have such a good relationship that we'll get by watching TV, drinking a bit, him smoking, watching his fishes and listening to some good ol underground hip hop right before some action. He knows me the best of everyone here in Los Angeles... all the way to the M.O. of what I'm going to do after action.. which is pass out.

I did do something that morning that I rarely ever do. Which is actually hold him close to me and kiss him before I left. I never really do that.

I learned my lesson this past weekend. Stick to what's good, and if it's bad, it'll all be bad.

WOW! What a Roller Coaster This Weekend Was

Just when I thought July blew chunks and after being yelled at by some intense crazy hotel guests, a crazy random thing happenned Saturday night...

So I'm at the Front Desk at the hotel just covering one of my employees who went on a Lunch Break. A group of about 7-8 guys start power walking towards me and they look frantic, confused and many other things.

I made the pretty safe assumption that they were checking in.

"Can I have the name on the reservation?"

"Supreme Soul"

And in my head I was thinking... "Who the fuck would name their child 'Supreme Soul?'"

"I'm sorry, I don't see a reservation under that name...could it be under any other name?"

"(inserts his name here)"

"Nope, I'm sorry, I don't see it"

"We have three rooms..."

"Oh I see it right here... why do you guys look so familiar?"

"Oh we're on that show America's Best Dance Crew"

"Oh! My friends are on that show and won last season."

"Which ones?"

"Jabbawockeez & Super Crew"

As I finished off that sentence I see Bionic up in the mix and all of a sudden everything made so much sense...then I hear someone say my name.

"Kaycie?"

WOW! It was the biggest shocker! James Dang! SlimJim?!

Believe me I was ALL smiles and SO HAPPY to see him! It's been a few years since we've seen/spoken to eachother! I gave him one of those hugs that says "I'm so glad to see old real friends!"

That itself made up for the shitty month I had in July.

It was funny because one of my other employees (who I never would've thought watched the show) said the following:

"Oh man, you guys are Supreme Soul? Man, I thought you guys shoulda won!"

They were in town to do a show and they were staying at my hotel!

Another random, my cousin who I haven't spoken to in like a year and a half calls me because her parent's Porsche got impounded due to expired registration tags. I love my cousin Roxy to death! and though we haven't spoken we know that we've got eachother's backs no matter what. I was even more excited!

Two in one night?! AWESOME!

Me and my cousin caught up best we could and she took off to grab a drink after I rescued her from Saddle Ranch.

The next day Supreme Soul was out but I made sure to leave them nice little surprises in their rooms. Savignon Blancs and a bottle of Champagne.

Too bad they didn't get to check out the bangin roof top pool... and went to a shitty ass night club.

I had Lunch with James and Mitch before their planes left at a Cafe at Burbank across the street from a Quizno's. BANGIN' Hot Pastrami Sandwhich! They had previously told me about their daily dosage of Panda Express :)

It was a great weekend though. And next time, we're going to Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles!
