  • Romans 14

    The Weak and the Strong
1Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters. 2One man's faith allows him to eat everything, but another man, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables. 3The man who eats everything must not look down on him who does not, and the man who does not eat everything must not condemn the man who does, for God has accepted him. 4Who are you to judge someone else's servant? To his own master he stands or falls. And he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand.  5One man considers one day more sacred than another; another man considers every day alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind. 6He who regards one day as special, does so to the Lord. He who eats meat, eats to the Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and he who abstains, does so to the Lord and gives thanks to God.

This verse is relevant in the church today, with so many denominations prevalent. It speaks of relativism as well. Does it make sense to be quarrelsome about these matters? Christianity is about accepting others and loving them for Christ Jesus accepts and loves them, and you. And God works through these disputable issues through the Holy Spirit guiding us, acting as a conscience as well. Imagine that. To let God be the judge, instead of quarreling about righteousness (that by the way comes from God through Jesus Christ). I have much to learn.

  • This world is beautiful...
Truly, God's glory is visible through this world. The intricacies of the seasons and nature,  the sun's existence and constancy in the universe... Beauty is even seen through the people of the world.
now, dont get me wrong... so many things are wrong with this world... corrupt governments, greed, hatred, war, famine, poverty, and absolutely no value of life..
but even in a hopeless world, God is mighty to save.
With our hope in Christ, we can go out making a difference. Not only through donating moneys... because in the end, money cant save our souls... Jesus Christ is the Way and the Truth and the Life. It is through Him that we who were once enemies of God are his friends, his adopted children. so we go out in His name and His name alone... not our names, not in the name and power of money... but in Jesus' Name we go out, and we pray.
and the day of the LORD is approaching...
Let us not waste the opportunities set before us day by day. Instead, let us spend our time praising the LORD and serving people.

  •  1 Some of the elders of Israel came to me and sat down in front of me. 2 Then the word of the LORD came to me: 3 "Son of man, these men have set up idols in their hearts and put wicked stumbling blocks before their faces. Should I let them inquire of me at all? 4 Therefore speak to them and tell them, 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: When any Israelite sets up idols in his heart and puts a wicked stumbling block before his face and then goes to a prophet, I the LORD will answer him myself in keeping with his great idolatry. 5 I will do this to recapture the hearts of the people of Israel, who have all deserted me for their idols.'

    Ezekiel 14:1-5

Lord, help us cast down our idols.
