| "Simple, or not so Simple, Reasons..." by : Mark Thomas
Reasons unknown and unknowing reason, Life leads us along without reason at all. Reasons for living or reasons for dying, The reeason of love is the best reason of all. My reason for pondering why I think about reasons, Really is much of a reason for reasoning at all. I reason thinks out about reasoning reason, Simply because I have no reason to reason at all. Reason to reason or reason to not, Life's but a season for reasoning sought. To find a reason takes a reason, and a reason requires need, So find your reason to need a reason and you will begin to reason indeed.
(Inspired by Grace , who set my mind's reasons ablaze. )
" A Chosen Life " By: Mark Thomas
The person we choose to be, The things we choose to see, Our selfless heart that bleeds, All eyes remain on me.
Let me guide you into wonderland, I'll heal your wounds if you only take my hand, In this paradise we make our last stand, We escape from emotions so dull and bland.
Emotions fly and anger controls all, The strong rise up and the weak begin to fall, But love strikes through and we hear it's call, The small become stars and stand up tall.
Never give up, carry on, carry on, Keep on fighting until the war is one, Life moves on and time stops for none, Til hearts stop beating and your time is done...

| "Message in a Bottle" by: Mark Thomas
I'm a message in a bottle, I'm just trying to get through. But I'm a message in a bottle, and the bottle never reaches you. Floating around in an ocean of water, I'm only a little bottle, Drifting around in the ocean of water, I'm alone and drowning.
Glass bottle so blue, with a message soo true, You're taking on water and noone sees you. Keep floating along, the fight's almost over, There's land in sight tonight, you're almost there.
So close but so far, you're just a ghost in my arms, How can everything I cherish feel so cold at night? Wrap me and hold me, never let me go, You're the one who completes me but we can't let anyone know.
Shivering, shaking, quivering and quaking, Hold still now, little bottle, the moon's coming up, So few yards left, to a deserted looking beach, You've finally reached shore now, and I hear moving feet.
Someone will rescue you, but noone knows who, Maybe it's the one you're intended for, or maybe someone knew, Or maybe they'll take you where you need to go, Or miss you in the water soo blue.
Who knows, who can guess, who could ever say, Who could ever, ever love you that way? Someone's out there, someone close to you, That someone's out there, and they know you, too.
Don't let the tide catch you, it'll pull you out to sea. Don't let that sweet tide catch you, it'll take you away from me. Sunsets and sunrise, sunrise and sunsets, These are the times that may leave you with regret.
Struggle on, carry on, pull yourself through, But don't ever, ever, let go of your love so true...
| "Emotions in Retrospect" by: Mark Thomas
Yesterday was another second, tomorrow's another year, Time moves on flying past and I'm still standing here. I'm wrapped up in a timeless treasure, a simple memory, But it's golden treasure in my heart because it's you and me. Minutes together and hours spent so far apart, A moment of carress pulls the strings of my heart. Catch me and hold me don't ever let me go, For everything I've said there's only one thing you should know. My CuddleBare, Buttercup, Beautiful Baby Blue, I'm ever forever deeply madly in love with you. From spark in your eyes to the flame in your heart, The curve of your cheek to the brain that makes you smart, Even the hands that hold us together I don't know where to start. Maybe the eyes running through my head for days, Or the tenderness that made me change my ways, Or when you hold me it's our loving sway. But all of these things are just the beginning, Each time I see you my blood heats up and starts thinning, It's the sign from my heart that tells my brain that you're winning. Or maybe it's simple, something easy to see A little thing hidden where no one else can find, Something so special just between you and me, Or maybe it's true love I can't make up my mind. Love, beauty, intelligence, it's true, All of these are qualities that I find in you, But when I wrap my arms around you to hold close each night, I forget everything else and enjoy my heart's loving delight. <3
| I said I'd put one of my art-works up here, but it will take a little while until I can scan it off. Until then, poetry's the idea...
"Shattered Memories" by: Mark Thomas
A lover's heart, torn and worn, A tarnished ring lying on the floor, These are the signs of broken house, A vow gone wrong and something more. Have you ever heard the sound of a broken heart, It sounds like goodbye... Cold as ice, hard as a stone, Tougher than mountains but without a home, You're falling apart, you've lost your cause, Things will never be the same and it's all centered on you. Icy floors of a windy house, Fireplace cooled with just one dowse, This is my home, dwelling of my heart and soul, The fitting place for me until I fill this hole. Thoughts flittering through my head like moths to the flame, Since you threw the ring things will never be the same.
"A Single Flame" by: Mark Thomas
A brand new candle and a single match, drawn at random from a mystery box. Short and squat, tall and thin, with the strike of a match our questionable life begins. Sputter, stutter, spark and flame, The countdown begins and no life is the same. From the time you start burning you're wasting away, Never to know "Is this my last day?" Life is short, life moves fast, life goes on until you die, You live your life and always ask why. A wick that only lasts so long, Live your life and sing your song, Because eventually the flame burns low, life grinds down and people grow slow. A flame will die and the candle's gone, A waxy stain to show what we have done. You never know when your life will end, Just what you've done and where you've been. My life, a candle, an hourglass glued to the table, We do what we can, live how we will, and laugh while we are able...
"Light the Way" by: Mark Thomas
Alone in the dark, I'm not so alone any more, lightning flashes and you're there like before. Holding me close, a blanket of protection, watching over me and saving me from myself. Always there for me, always meant to be, together forever you and I can conquer anything. The past, the present, the future we can share, if ever my Princess needs me, I will be right there...
| Two brand new poems, please tell me what you think. :)
"Left or Right ?" by: Mark Thomas
Freedom love and liberty, I want these things to be for me, I need a to have will to choose, to choose who I myself want to be. I don't know you and you don't know me, but together we can choose to be Forever together or always alone, to stand and fight or go on home, These are the choices, along with many more, Our choices are oceans and decision the far shore. So if you're sure then pick a risk, take a chance speak loud don't lisp, Indecision is the key to flexibility but freedom of choice is what makes you and me So stand out tall and cast your lines I'll only live once this life of mine.
"One Admission" by: Mark Thomas
Hand in hand they strolled down the lane, the typical couple freshly in love. The carnival was busy, the bright lights brilliantly glowing, she was holding the animal that he won for her. The boy hummed a tune as they walked along, she went quietly, her heart singing her song. He picked up a ticket, it said "One admission" it seemed rather worn, dirty and old. He gave it to her, it was now treasure, loving gold, as he said to her "Here's one admission, one truth be told". The Faris Wheel was next, standing so tall, from the very top it's said that you could see it all. They got in the line, her hand in mine, and smiling they strapped themselves into the seats. He whispered to the controller and off they went, when it paused at the top it seemed heaven sent. She handed him the ticket, her heart free as a dove, and he smiled at her, gently took her hand, And he poured out his heart as he said: "You are my one true love..."
