| something has occured to me.
People keep saying telling me that HD tvs are selling like hotcakes, that over 50% of tvs sold last year were HDTVs. Ive been told that HD tv service will be government mandated... (a date that is continuesly pushed back)
I dont believe all that, but one thing that I know for sure is that when you walk into a best buy, good luck trying to find an SD tv, or even an EDtv.
But this is what occured to me, are there so many at stores since there is such a demand, or are the stores just stocking what they want, (the more expensive snazzier HDtvs obviously) leaving the consumer without a real option.
I was in a best buy looking for a tv recently, I found 1 EDtv, (which was huuuuuuge and way out of my price range.) a handful of SD tvs (all CRTs or smaller than my current tv) and the rest were HD.
My whole reason behind gettinga new tv was that my 10 year old CRT is starting to slip, and id rather something more slimlined to go with my setup. But im not left will all that many choices, either I downgrade, or stick with the one I have.
So yes, HD might be gaining ground, but when you can only buy one type of product, its no wonder it sells well. | | |
