  • The Golden Compass

I watched "The Golden Compass" the other night, and was horribly disappointed.

I love fantasy - love it. And I was really hoping the film would be good. The books were excellent. Philip Pullman is an amazing writer.

Unfortunately, it didn't live up to my expectations. It didn't even come close, actually.

Ten to fifteen minutes into the movie, Mike nudged me, "Forgive me if I fall asleep."
    "That bad, huh?"
"Forgive me if I fall asleep."

Right. The actors (except for Nicole Kidman - and Daniel Craig's almost non-existent role) sounded like they were reading from a script... it was terrible.
And I didn't like the way they did the CGI animations.

However, there were too good scenes: the bear-fight (Lorek fight, really) scene, and the other fight scene.

Really, though, the film was a total waste. If you want to see it, I recommend waiting until it comes out on DVD, or better yet, wait until it's available at the library.

  • I put down a deposit on a puppy!! She's a Cavachon, and only 5 and a half weeks old, and totally adorable. The pics are of other cavachons that kinda look like her.
She's really small, and won't be more than 10 pounds once it's all said and done. I meant to get a dog that was a bit bigger... but that's okay.
She's the middle puppy. The first puppy that I picked up was a boy. I don't want a boy. He was so cute. When the family I'm buying him from lit the lamp (their Amish), he was the first to open his eyes, and he struggled away from his sisters to run over and get pet. Then, the biggest sister was allllllll happy to see me (she's already been adopted, so she knows that people mean attention).
The other two were far more shy. One, the littlest, had almost straight fur, and all the others are curly. My little one is somewhere in the middle on all counts - of the girls, she's neither the biggest nor the smallest, the curliest nor the straightest, the most red or the littlest red.

Anyway, I need a name, and I kinda want an "A" name, and suggestions are appreciated. So far, suggestions include Airi, Aliera, Addie, and Aggie...

  • Hitman... AWESOME

I saw the movie, "Hitman" with Mike a few nights ago. I really liked it! It's funny, because I wasn't expecting to, but even though it's based on a video game, there was still a plot. The action was obviously incredible, and the characters (namely 47) were dynamic.

Great film... and it was totally unexpected.

  • Ahh, the Gloriousness

Roommate: If you're reading this, I suggest you stop. Or pretend that you did.

I love snow. Last night, coming out of church after the Thanksgiving Eve Service, I literally clapped my hands - much to the dismay of my sister and Pastor Rick, who had also just stepped outside.

Snow has a way of making me think that things are better... it's covered in white, it's clean, pure, pretty and fresh. It has that "wow" smell, that breathtaking beauty that covers everything.

I love the way snow fall son trees, highlighting them perfectly, covering the otherwise sad-looking naked trees in something that can only be called, in my humble opinion, beautiful.

Guess what (one) good thing about going home before my roomie is...

I can totally be waiting for her with a snowball with her name on it. Hehe.

  • house... clean?

The house, believe it or not, is actually almost clean. I'm serious. There are just piles of things here and there that don't get touched. Heh.
I believe I've made about fifteen different resolutions, "Oh, after I finish 4 posts, I'll clean for fifteen minutes." Or "Every two hours, I'll clean out a box." Yeah. Never happens.

Been crazy busy lately. My boss just gave me a new site to start working on.
Here's a list of blogs I'm writing for:

    www.celebzee.com
: The positive things different celebrities are doing. (Ex, George Clooney helping out with Darfur)
    www.famezee.com
: Celebrities and the things they do (mostly stupid. Like Britney Spears not taking her drug tests)
www.hottogs.com: Fashion tips/advice for men and women, including designer styles and clothing and whatnot
www.popsofa.com: Pop culture including celebrity news, fashion, and designer stuff. (Tomorrow, posting about my terrible shopping experience with the boy.)
tv.popcrunch.com: All about TV shows, and what's on, etc. becoming a little bit harder with WGA strike
    www.tenfootsquare.com: A travel blog

    I want a puppy

About Me

  • I'm 23, I speak French and English, I'm a writer (novels, short stories, articles, some poetry, etc.), I'm a dreamer, and I smile too much when I'm in the United States. Website: www.robinmariewords.blogspot.com

  • Thoughtful and pensive... uncertain. My imagination is going a million miles a minute. Good sometimes... bad right now.
  • Since I'm not really sure this is, I'm just kinda messing around. I like new things. I'm not sure I like this new layout. Hmm.

Some random person from British Columbia was on my xanga and they got there through this chatboard thing. I think you should check your footprints and find out how they got here

I think someone should tell me hi on here, seeing as how I went and added it. (This is a hint. A blatant one.)
