Most interesting !

The Lord has a way of revealing those of us that really know him, and
those that don't! Kerry gave a speech last week about how much his
faith is important to him. In an attempt to convince the American
people that we should consider him for president, he announced that his
favorite Bible verse is John 16;3. Of course the speech writer meant
John 3;16, but Nobody in the Kerry camp was familiar enough with the
scriptures to catch the error. And do you know what 16;3 says? John16;3
says "They will do such things because they have not known the Father or
Me." Funny how the Lord works his wonders!

hmm.. as it seems most people are putting their first impression of Rutgers on their xangas, i figure i will too..

so. what's good about Rutgers and why you should go there?

1) Food is great. Grease trucks pump lovely fatty cells through ur veins.

2) Never drank before? No problem! There's enough to go around!

3) Thought you wouldn't ever puke again since your 2nd grade experience? Think again.

4) YAY! WE GET BREAKS BETWEEN CLASSES!

5) You finally realize high school was the worst time of your life.

6) Make new friends, meet a lotta hot chicks (cuz they're ur ticket to #2)

7) Never thought it was that hard to be responsible. Damn.

8) R U ra ra RU ra RU ra RUTGERS ra! ... even your dreams have that chant.

People who can vote. Please read this. It's worth the time.

I recently attended the National Pastors Convention in San Diego

with several thousand pastors from many different denominations.

During one of the general sessions, the MC introduced a pastor

from Uzbekistan. He had traveled the farthest to attend the convention,

so they wanted to interview him.

I don't remember his name, and even if I did, I know I couldn't

pronounce it.

However, I do know this: I will never forget this man. Right

away, I liked him. He was humble, sincere, and gracious. He apologized

for his broken English, though I thought he spoke very well. As

the MC interviewed him, he began to share about his ministry in his

country that borders Afghanistan. He talked about the church he

pastors of a

few hundred people. He also shared how it is illegal in his

country to be

a Christian. You see, his church is an "underground" church.

Amazingly,

his city also has "underground" Christian schools. He talked

about how the Christians have been arrested and even killed in his

country.

Then, as the interview was about to end, he began to speak very

urgently and

passionately. He said something to this effect: "I would like all

you to know that my church and the Christians in my country are

praying

that President Bush will be reelected."

I was stunned. I knew that this gathering had to include many

pastors from all over the political spectrum and I was certain

this would not go over well. Immediately, there were murmurings

and rumblings throughout the audience and the MC seemed a little

uncertain about what to do next.

However, this pastor would not be denied. Grasping the microphone

firmly in his hand, he continued, "The officials in my country are

afraid of President Bush, so they don't persecute Christians as

much Under Clinton it was very bad for us. Many of us were

arrested, put in jail, and some were killed. With Clinton, it was

very bad. But under President Bush, it has been so much better, so

we are praying for him."

The murmuring ended. It was suddenly very quiet.The MC paused.Then

he just asked us to stand and pray for this man and we did so with

great passion. Choking back tears, I was immediately struck with

this realization in my heart: this coming election was not just

about me or my church or my country. This coming election would

affect the entire world.

And while there are many Christians and churches in this country

that may not support and may even despise our current President,

there is a group of Christians halfway around the world who are

desperately

praying for his reelection. All of the sudden, the election

became something very different for me. It is not just about the economy, gay marriage,

or weapons of mass destruction. It's about the persecuted church

around the world. As believers, what issues should be more important to us? This

transcends politics. This is about the Kingdom of God for which Christ

suffered and died, and for those believers in other countries who

are suffering and dying as well. I was also convicted in my heart about praying

for our President. And I wonder, which church is praying more fervently for

him: the persecuted church in Uzbekistan or the prosperous church

in America? It makes you think.

As the Apostle Paul said in Hebrews 13:3, "Remember those in prison

if you were their fellow prisoners, and those who are mistreated

as if

you yourselves were suffering."

Remember, this election is not just about us. It's about them

HAPPY 1 YEAR BABY! =DD had an awesome day today =D it's soo fun!!! <censor> , made Hamburger Helper for lunch, then went back to the Zaraphath, the place where we first met each other like 3 years ago, and the entire place looks so different without all the people in it. soo vastly empty.. it's sad that they don't have Autumn Blaze there anymore =( o well... so after that, we headed into Princeton for dinner. There we met some dude trying to sell us fake and ghetto perfume for $25, and he wouldn't shut up until 5 minutes later when Chuanie's stomach was grumbling. =( anyways, headed to a good Sushi bar afterwards *YUM* blah blah blah some more cutsie stuff and ...

o man. the Baltimore experience was such a blessed one. unbelievable.. the way that God works. heading into that city on Saturday morning, we didn't know anybody, or anything. At the end of the day, everyone knew each other and we all had a common goal. On sunday, we attended two types of services, "Episcipalian" -- i dunno how to spell it.. and a service at another church which resembled Times Square Church. let's see wut else happened.. i'll update about the week tomorrow. *yawn*

John Kerry was going to visit the Catholic National Cathedral outside
Washington as part of his campaign. Kerry's campaign manager made a
visit to the Cardinal and said to him, "We've been getting a lot of bad
publicity among Catholics because of Kerry's position on abortion and the
like.

       We'd gladly make a contribution to the church of $100,000 if during
   your sermon you'd say "John Kerry is a saint." The Cardinal thinks it
   over for a moment and agrees to do it.

   John Kerry shows up, and as the Mass progresses the Cardinal begins
his homily. "John Kerry is petty, a self-absorbed hypocrite and a
nit-wit. He is a liar, a cheat, and a thief. He is the worst example of a
Catholic I've ever personally known. But compared to Ted Kennedy,
John Kerry is a saint."

so let's see. Monday the kids started coming in and we were all down for it. lifting them up, carrying them on our shoulders, chicken fighting and wut not.. later on we would learn that it was a bad idea. however, we did that for practically an hour or so before things went according to schedule. had lessons, bball games, and arts n' crafts for 4 days. i swear there was not one day that we were not drenched in sweat... and i mean drenched as the in the i-can-squeeze-the-sweat-outta-my-shirt drenched.

bball games were good tho.. intense.. we won 2 days in a row , 3 vs 4 , 21 pts. last day we lost cuz pat hurt his back so it was more like a 2 vs 4. o well.

yay the harbor!! ... this concludes my 11253159349898th visit to the place and it's filthy water.

YAY! heh. looks like the thing at Costco is working out quite nicely. $10 an hour for just putting groceries or wutever into a cart, then $15 an hour on sundays doing the same thing. How awesome? good money. making at least $240 a week... sadly they all go to books. how... weak. stupid college. shouldn't they make it free? i mean, Americans are all supposed to be driven n' smart. they make it mandatory to attend school from 1st grade through 12th. though i'm not sure where the break is cuz sometimes ppl drop out n' it's all good. but either way, the government should push through till a thorough education is attained. that is how a Utopian society will come about.
