It's the damn interest...

Promise to update later on this week! Happy Thanksgiving if I don't get the chance. I just wanted to do a quick update before I step out of the house.

What I Learned Today

Okay, so maybe I'm incompetent or oblivious to the world and you guys already know this. But I also know that since it's a glorious long weekend, most of you are going to go out and party it up at the clubs/bar or the likes of that. Before you pick up that glass of beer... here are some statistics:

If you want a $700,000 start-up house in New York and you've been good and have saved $200,000 by the time your thirty... then you only need to borrow $500,000 from the bank right? Okay... thirty-year mortgage-- fairly standard at $3500/month. So you huff and puff until your sixty and look at your amortized-interest mortgage statement and say... WHAT!? Yep... that $500,000 loan became $1.2 million. Ouch.

If you just pay a double mortgage for one month, you can save yourself $150,000 in the long-run. So save early, buy early, pay early.

So think about that before you buy your six-dollar drinks and your four-dollar water at the clubs. Everyone's allowed to have a vice (mmm.... vice--I'm all for that one vice), so maybe get there before eleven like a loser. Like that hour is going to make a difference. Hide underneath the benches or in the bathroom until all the chumps paying $20 at the door are swinging in at 12:30 and pretend you just walked in. Just saying.

If you want to impress a girl, take her out to dinner instead of buying her a drink... more bang for the same buck. Har har.

Now I'm late... phooey.

For Linh Vo

Linh's Xanga

You planned the best house-party on Saturday, yummiest dinner-party Sunday, danced the night away to Armin and even managed to drive me to my photoshoot on Monday. Only you would get me something so practical and so fun like PS2 and Katamari. KATAMARI! Get ready to become instantly addicted, we will never leave the house again. I love it =)

Most of all, I liked the card. I read it twice. I know you thought I had an unpleasant look but you know how bad I am with that stuff in person. Btw, the five-time whammy wasn't too shabby either.

Thanks for the first birthday party that didn't reduce me to tears .

The stuff you do negates the stuff I know about you. Does that make sense?

When you touched my face
When you call my name
I'm burned with desire
But you left me in the rain

----------------------------------

Hey guys! Thanks for the best birthday dinner. I had a great time .

Do you ever look around and briefly acknowledge that everyone around you is startinng to act significantly older at an alarming rate? There are times when I look around and I get freaked out, super freaked out. Then I figure it's only two more years until we leave the safety-net of college and get thrown in the real world. Haha, what am I talking about? The headaches, the insurance, the rent, the bills, the worries... most of us are already there.

But screw it. I'm going to have the best damn twenties I can possibly have. What's not to be happy about? Everything just simply fell in place. I really do have the greatest friends, family and even room-mate! I'm not just throwing the adjective best out there like some sort of half-hearted consolation gesture. I really do mean the best. I can count the ways, but I know you already know so all I can offer is a stupid thanks... I love you guys.

Now that a year has passed by I run down the list of my annual mental questions: Wiser? I hope so. Better? Definitely yes. Complaints? No way. Happy? Nah. But I like it that way. At the end of the day, I'm in a good place with way better music every passing year. So I say:

BRING ON TWENTY, HECK BRING ON THIRTY.

I'll see you on the other side!

This is going to be good, I can tell.

Oh What a Night

Simon and I straight off the airplane in the airport parking lot with James! Our Chauffeur. MTV totally hooked us up and got us a really great ride, it was a 2007 Mercedes S Class... Mmm... best two moving hours of my life =)

Again, MTV totally surprised us with great hotel suites. It's my room, this one was in West Hollywood. I'm so bad with California geography I have no idea where Hollywood is in relation to San Gabriel or Pasedena or Malibu. The second picture is with the lovely Cassandra, my make-up artist before the concert in my bathroom. I'm eating because we were rushing around the whole day and didn't get the opportunity to put food in our tummies.

At the Venue! It's us with Jeff & Machi and me with Jin. Two spectacular perfomances. Everyone talked about how Jin really connected with the audience and yeah, you could tell that he's a natural entertainer.

Backstage, getting ready to go on microphone in hand!

The most kickass performances and Simon getting ready to go on.

Put your three fingers up for Far-East Movement! Haha, it's us, Far-east and Jasmine after the concert. Then me with Carl.

At sound check with the lovely Kaila Yu and Woody totally boozing the night before.

Simon, Al (Putnam Hall) and I at Vanguard the night before the concert and finally my last day in California (you can tell because of the color drain from my face from no sleep , completely worth it though!)... Burning Tree Project! We're shooting a "Live From" show. I love their song "Dear Valentine". Those guys are so sweet.

The concert was unforgetable! I'll always remember the fourteen-hundred people jumping up and down, waving their arms in the air and screaming... it was mind-blowing. When Simon and I got up on the stage I nearly died, I couldn't see the magnitude of the crowd from backstage and suddenly I'm blind-sided by the noise. Simon is great, he's a natural-born entertainer! Every perfomance was so good... it just sounds even better LIVE! I don't want to play favorites but I was so moved by Far-East Movement's set. And of course, Jin's "Same Cry" always always gets me. People went crazy for him (and also Machi), boys my age were trying to grab him... it was insane to watch! Oh man oh man... after the concert was the best. All the stress was over and finally we got to just hang out and relax and really savor the moment. We all ended up going to this club called "Garden of Eden" or something similar. I'll always remember MTV Chi Rocks, the smells, the people, the chaos and the mayhem. We do it best , let's top it next year!

Okay... no more excitement for the next two weeks! It's time to study for midterms!

Edit://

Ugh... I don't like studying for midterms. Dislike with a heated passion. Oh well, looking foward to a weekend of peace and my most favorite thing of all! CARDS!!!!! =)

Simon find this on someone's myspace everyone look so happy.
