Ok so even though no one reads this, I've decided to do a re-cap of the last month and a half or so as it has been busy and full of blessings!  I guess I'll go by cc meets...

Hot Springs-Pretty much one of the greatest weekends of my life!  We left on a Friday and rode up there, with Rachael, Amelia, Erica, Ali, and I singing Disney songs for motivation! haha!  We checked into a beautiful hotel on a lake with  lots of ducks for Rachael to chase. We stopped by the race tracks to check out the next day's course.  It was a nice open field-I liked it!  After showers we went downtown.  There wasn't a whole lot to see there, except a toy store for connor to get a train.  We ate dinner at a fancy pasta place that was pretty good.  Devin and Adam ordered about $12 worth of shrimp and ended up with four pieces, and Rachael was very amused by bathrooms that weren't even that good!  Back at the hotel the guys went for a swim in a freezing cold pool, and I went to bed.  In the morning Rachael, Jordan, Matt and I walked about a mile to look for some breakfast at a gas station. We ended up with granola bars and bottled water.  At least my legs got warmed up!  The guys got to race first, and then we were up.  We talked to this girl named Julia while we were on the line since they started us 20 min late.  The race went better than expected!  I knew we could get first if we all tried hard, but I was concerned at the other girls' fear.  Not only was it an out of state meet, but it was huge!  However, we ended up winning as a team! I got 9th, Ali 12, Rach 13, Mel 14, and Erica 15.  It was awesome! We stopped by Arby's/Sonic and then began our long bus ride home so Jordan, Kevin, Stephen and I could write our myth hero essays.

Homecoming/Mississippi College-Well I somehow made homecoming court this year, so that was quite a busy week.  After all the preperations Thursday finally came.  After a morning run was the jr high assembly.  I really did have fun watching the show with all the girls, but Thursday night was way better.  I wore Mary's prom dress from last year-it was absolutely gorgeous.  It was actually really fun getting to be on stage too.  I was extremely excited when Laura got maid!  After the assembly I stopped by sonic to see Mike, Seth, Jordan, and Rachael, and then went to McAlister's to eat.  I got home pretty late and was up early to do an assembly for the school Friday morning.  When it ended around 11:30 we went to the field to practice the procedure for that night's half-time.  I ran a little to get rid of a headache, and then we went to subway for lunch.  Afterwards I went to Dan's so Ms. Wendy could fix my hair and make-up.  I loved my outfit for Friday night, and I absolutely had a blast at the game.  There was a car parade and a neat little area for the court near the field.  The weather was perfect, and everyone was in such a good mood.  Friday night was another late night, and we left the school at 6:30 Saturday morning for MS College Invite.  I was exhausted, but that is one of my favorite courses so I was trying to get phyched up for it.  I ended up finishing 11th, which wasn't good, but wasn't too bad either, giving the circumstances.  Rachael, Mike, and I rode home with mom, stopping for lunch at Wendy's.  I was extremely tired by this time, and slept for most of the remaining ride.  When I got home I showered quickly and attempted to fix my hair.  Then Mike picked me up and we went to Kiroli for pictures, followed by dinner at Olive Garden.  The actual dance could not have been more lame, but my date was wonderful, and I had fun hanging out with everyone.  Afterwards was not so fun.  We just went to Anna's, but Devin, Rachael, Mike, and I did not want to play volleyball, so we pretty much just sat exhausted until about 1. I want to say I slept for most of the next day after church.  It was quite the weekend.

Off weekend-ACT.  SUCKED!  I hate that test.  Probably just because I'm horrible at it.  I should be able to do a whole lot better.  Stupid science section! lol I got tudored in physics afterwards by Mrs. Luttrell. I hate Physics so much.  Not only am I horrible at it, but I feel like I waste an hour of each day sitting in the gosh-awful class!

Home Meet-At Kiroli.  It rained all day so a bunch of teams ended up not coming.  The course was extremely muddy, and the running conditions were hard in general.  I had a lot of fun though because a bunch of people from school ended up coming, including Mrs. Gilmore. I got 2nd to a cedar creek girl, but we won overall.  Then we went to Johnny's for our tradional post home meet meal!

District-At Lincoln Parish Park in Ruston (somehow...)  It was actually a perfect day to run.  I was a little bit tired, but not really worried about this race at all.  I got 7th (which is the worst I've ever done at district) to 5 Ruston girls and the freshman from Airline.  The race went really quickly, and I was thankful.  We all went to CC's for pizza when it was over, and that was pretty enjoyable as well.  I was tired for pretty much the rest of the week, but I was getting ready for state nonetheless.

STATE-This past Tuesday, November 14th.  My grandparents came in Monday night, but I had an NY/DC meeting (YES I'm going on that trip and I can't wait!) so we didn't do much.  Tuesday morning I woke up feeling GREAT.  That rarely happens on state day beause I am usually so nervous.  I got all ready and we headed to Natchitoches, listening to a mixture of Disney music and Jordan's songs.  I somehow managed to be in a good mood this whole time, and was still feeling good when we arrived.  Neither Dan nor Mike ended up coming as they had both wanted, but I wasn't really bothered by this since I was pretty focused.  I did get to see Andy though ; ) I was extremely nervous when we got to the starting line, but this is the first year that I've had a peace regardless of the possible outcomes.  I've always wanted to place in the top ten so badly that I've lost track of what's important, but this year I think the season was so enjoyable because I wasn't so dependant upon it.  I felt God use me this year, and there were so many times that I really felt like He was smiling at me while I was running.  The feeling is nearly indescribable, but it's almost the best feeling in the world.  So the gun went off, and I got a great start.  I was very excited to see the muddy course too, because mud is definitely my strong point!  I may not have a lot of speed, but I have a pretty good amount of strength!  I noticed that I was pretty near the front which was surprising, but I didn't think too much about it.  Then some girls started passing me, but as we got to the mud I saw them struggle and I easily regained my place as 6th.  This is how it went for the whole race.  The four girls in my pack would try to pass me, but the mud and the hill were conveniently at the end of the loop. I was so confident the whole time.  I was just praying and praying, and I felt so focused and strong.  It was one of those races that just makes me smile to think about.  I ended up placing 6th, and was definitely one of the most excited girls out there.  It was a fantastic end to my favorite season!

Misc-We have just begun thanksgiving break.  I think I finally decided to write this down because I'm supposed to be writing a Wuthering Heights essay to be taken to Mrs. Harris' house Monday.  Before I do that, there are a couple other random things I would like to jot down.  First of all, I am exstatic about the upcoming school trip to NY/DC.  I am so thankful I am getting to go, and I can't wait.  Also, I recently received the honor of being named Student of the Year.  This is quite overwhelming as it entails much work, but I am very grateful.  I can't believe how much God has blessed me this year.  It has been amazing.  However, there are always things to keep me in line in the faith department.  For example, a million and four applications every week, starting to think hard about college and an eventual career, actually having to think about money and not being able to put off getting ajob any longer, lots and lots of school work including teaching myself latin and physics on top of an upcoming term paper...you know, things that make you appreciate your senior year!  I'm enjoying every minute of it though.  Yesterday marked 6 months until graduation, and I just know that I will soon be there wondering where those 6 months went.  Growing up is such a weird feeling!  But there is always the Holiday Season to make you feel like a kid again : D

Randomness

God is REALLY good.  My family is doing really well thanks to  much prayer!  I am sooo blessed.

Umm mythology is almost over after a hero essay that I will write somehow this weekend.

Hot Springs trip with the CC team!  Leaving tomorrow!  I'm excited because we actually have a GIRL'S TEAM this year!  What a novel concept!  Me, Erica, Ali, Rachael, and Amelia.  We got first at the Menard meet last week.  I like having a team!  The boys aren't doing so great, but I still enjoy hanging out with them.

Homecoming next weekend!  I don't know how this next week will go with everything going on.  I am actually excited though.  Big assembly Thursday night!  Game Friday!  Mississippi Invitational Saturday, followed by the dance.  Mike is coming in to take me.  Should be fun!!!

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose."  Romans 8:28
That is a good thing to be reminded of when you have a crummy day, or when little Jake dies.  God has a plan, and we are only men.  He is the CREATOR, and we are the CREATED.  Who are we to try to understand Him or His ways?  Our questions will not always be answered, but our Lord will always be GLORIFIED.  If we focus too much on ourselves we tend to lose focus of the big picture.  God is refining us for His use.  Those who love Him are being shaped by circumstances to be like Him.  One day, it will all make sense...I just love how in the meantime He gives us strength when we feel like we can't go on.  Never has He given me more than I can handle with Him.  Sure I may be moved out of my comfort zone, but hey, that's part of growing.  I believe we will be able to look back one day and see how God worked out everything around us for His good.  Incredible!  Thank You, Lord, for being bigger than I can imagine.  Thank You for knowing what's best for me and bringing about growth in ways I don't always like. Give me strength to accept these things and faith to get through times that don't make sense.  Shape me to be like you.  Above all, be glorified in my life.  If I'm not glorifying You, change me!  I praise You for being in control!  What an AWESOME God You are!!!

Man, I made Rachael cry today.

Yup.  She was trying to pick me up and grope me and I elbowed her in the nose.  On accident, but you know. I t happens.  At least we're going to McDonald's now!

Man I haven't posted one of these in a while.  Life is a little rough right now...
God is so good!  He provides encouragement when I think I've had too much.
I know He has a plan and it will all work out in the end.  Trials make us stronger
as long as we depend on God, and don't worry.  Sometimes it is hard not to be
angry.  After being struck down again and again, it's hard to get back up, but it
is always worth it.  I will hold on a little longer because God knows just how
much I can take!

Myth videos this weekend.  Time consuming, but pretty fun. Angela, Luke and I
are doing Theseus.  We have some good ideas.  I can't wait to see the final
product!
