Not many people even knew I was gone this weekend at Starvy Creek, though I guess if you didn't know, oh well, you probably didn't care enough to ask me what I was going to be doing anyway.
Starvy Creek was fantastic as usual this year. I only went for the days of the festival this year. None of that 2 week crap where i get bored out of my mind... though i do wish that I would have gone for about a week or so I really really didn't want to come home today. The stage shows this year were the best I have seen them but the jamming wasn't so great... and the jammin part of Starvy Creek is the best part. Though I suppose that's my own fault. I didn't go at the right times. Angela and I went out to listen to the boys last night, but they decided to stop at around 10:30 or so. So Angela went to bed and I stayed out with Andrew and Eric til about 12:00 or so--just sitting there. Woot. Fun. Or not so much. It was better than lying in bed though. Which is what I did for two hours after Eric and Andrew decided to ditch me. Ha. Eh. It would've been awkward if I had gone with them anyway. I wish that I was still there though... so I would get more chances to be around pickin', but oh well. I'll get my chance either in September, or next July.
Angela and Andrew had Elliot--their 2 month baby--there this weekend. I got to babysit a few times, and he is just THE cutest little baby, ever. I took pictures, but don't have them on the computer yet--i'll do that when I have time.
But anyway, about the shows--it was fantttttabulous. Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver were there Friday--and once agian they rocked my world. Though, Barry Scott, their bassist, isn't in the band anymore. But luckily Jamie was still there, he is probably my favorite. LOVE his voice--and his face ain't so bad either. The new bassist kept looking at me--and one time he looked and it made me laugh, so I smiled and then he started laughing onstage. hah. fun stuff. But then yesterday there was a band Audie something-er-other and his band and they were awesome!! The band was basically made up of young guys. The banjo player and the fiddle player were 18, and extremely talented, and the bassist was probably about 25 or so and then there was the mandolin player/fiddle player who is blind... and extreeeeeeeemely good. He has won 3 fiddle player of the year awards for IBMA. AWESOME. And then the guitarist was older--probably in his 40s. But this band was insaneeeeeee! they got TWO encores. yes. TWO. that's the first time that has ever happened. It was pretty intense.
Anyway, most of you don't really care about this... but whatev. If you want to know more... most of you know how to get ahold of me. I have some funny stories to tell--but ones that are probably only funny to me and whitney and my other girls. so i won't go there with the "boy" stories.
So I haven't taken a shower since Thursday night--because the showers at Starvy I don't like... so I think I am going to go take a longgggg hot bath.
