WATCH YOUR MOUTH! *flying leap to clamp mouth shut*

Proverbs 18:21  ¶"Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof."

In that last few months, I've been impressed upon to really keep a watch on my mouth. Those words above are so incredibly true. About a year ago my sister was driving a beater car and visiting a friend. As they were driving her friend said, "Your muffler's just gonna fall out!" My sister had never had a problem with her muffler except that it was older and as she was pulling out of her friends driveway, the muffler fell off the car completely! On another note, my aunt always referred to herself in the context of Bad Luck and unfortunately that had been the path her life had followed.

Psalms 34:13  "Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile."

When you speak death over yourself "This is killing me" "I'm sick and tired of.." "I hate.." "that'll be the death of me" you'd better be sure you want the result you're speaking. There is a reason that we're told to keep our tongue from evil and that is that we can have what we speak.

Proverbs 15:4  ¶"A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit."

Defining a few key terms, will help make that verse have a little more weight. (what’s bold and underlined is the pertinent info)

Breach as defined by dictionary.com breach n.

    1. An opening, a tear, or a rupture.
    2. A gap or rift, especially in or as if in a solid structure such as a dike or fortification.
  1. A violation or infraction, as of a law, a legal obligation, or a promise.
  2. A breaking up or disruption of friendly relations; an estrangement.
  3. A leap of a whale from the water.
  4. The breaking of waves or surf.

tree of life

stood also in the midst of the garden of Eden (Gen. 2:9; 3:22). Some writers
have advanced the opinion that this tree had some secret virtue, which was
fitted to preserve life. Probably the lesson conveyed was that life was to be
sought by man, not in himself or in his own power, but from without, from Him
who is emphatically the Life (John 1:4; 14:6). Wisdom is compared to the tree
of life (Prov. 3:18).
The "tree of life" spoken of in the Book of Revelation
(Rev. 2:7; 22:2, 14) is an emblem of the joys of the celestial paradise.

What you say matters eternally. Remembering, that, what's in your heart and what you hear most is gonna come out.

Matthew 12:34  "O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh."

Matthew 12:36  "But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment."

Never forget that as horrid an effect your words can have, they can also have great benefit.

Mark 11:23  "For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith."

Finally, I leave you with this:

1 Corinthians 1:3  "Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ."

Jesus loves you and so do I!

Alright, an introduction to this site.

This site was created by 2 people who just wanted to be able to rant about their thoughts. So they decided, “let's make our own blog so we can rant!”.

Their names are Jammer, and Mouse.

So, if you like this site, you can put a link to us in your forum signatures, maybe subscribe so people can see us on the list *hint*hint*

Anyway, thanks for reading this, and I hope you like the site

Well, this site's very first rant will be on the subject of "Guys, be respectful to girls.".

I find it amazingly annoying, and even angering to see a guy being disrespectful to a girl. One of the few things that could make me the most angry is to see a guy treating a girl like a piece of property, when she is a person, just as much so as him.

(And a small pointer for you guys too, the girls really really don't like being treated like that, and they do notice when you do the opposite, and go out of your way to be polite.)

Philippians 4:8 - "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."

Alright, I'm going to be brutally blunt, so if you don't want that, then you probably shouldn't read this...

Guys, think about this scripture and what it says. Now think about the things that occupy your thoughts the most. Are those things true? Are they honest? Are they just? Are they pure? Are they lovely? Are they of good report?

If you answered any of those questions no, you should probably be reconsidering some of the time you spend thinking about things.

But what I am primarily wanting to focus on is, Are your thoughts pure? Specifically in relation to the opposite gender? ( This is targeted mainly at guys, but you girls may get something form this as well )

First off, none of us are perfect, but the real question is, are you trying to avoid these thoughts, or do you just let them come and go as they please?

If you find youself saying that “I try to stop them, but they continue to get at my mind.” I would suggest the first thing you do is pray. It may also be beneficial to find a person you trust, and discuss that with them.

My real point here is that you should keep your thoughts pure and be respectful. Don't think about what you wouldn't do. Thoughts lead to actions.

So far I have only dealt with thinking respectfully about girls, and in my next post I plan to talk about treating them respectfully from a physical aspect.
