This is just k-...WATCH YOUR MOUTH! *flying leap to clamp mouth shut*
Proverbs 18:21 ¶"Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof."
In that last few months, I've been impressed upon to really keep a watch on my mouth. Those words above are so incredibly true. About a year ago my sister was driving a beater car and visiting a friend. As they were driving her friend said, "Your muffler's just gonna fall out!" My sister had never had a problem with her muffler except that it was older and as she was pulling out of her friends driveway, the muffler fell off the car completely! On another note, my aunt always referred to herself in the context of Bad Luck and unfortunately that had been the path her life had followed.
Psalms 34:13 "Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile."
When you speak death over yourself "This is killing me" "I'm sick and tired of.." "I hate.." "that'll be the death of me" you'd better be sure you want the result you're speaking. There is a reason that we're told to keep our tongue from evil and that is that we can have what we speak.
Proverbs 15:4 ¶"A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit."
Defining a few key terms, will help make that verse have a little more weight. (what’s bold and underlined is the pertinent info)

tree of life
stood also in the midst of the garden of Eden (Gen. 2:9; 3:22). Some writers have advanced the opinion that this tree had some secret virtue, which was fitted to preserve life. Probably the lesson conveyed was that life was to be sought by man, not in himself or in his own power, but from without, from Him who is emphatically the Life (John 1:4; 14:6). Wisdom is compared to the tree of life (Prov. 3:18). The "tree of life" spoken of in the Book of Revelation (Rev. 2:7; 22:2, 14) is an emblem of the joys of the celestial paradise.
What you say matters eternally. Remembering, that, what's in your heart and what you hear most is gonna come out.
Matthew 12:34 "O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh."
Matthew 12:36 "But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment."
Never forget that as horrid an effect your words can have, they can also have great benefit.
Mark 11:23 "For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith."
