Still Alive and Doing Well!

I'm a Mommy!

Annabelle Hope was born on October 10, 2007 and she's the most beautiful baby in the world!
For pics, find me on facebook or myspace.

Anyways, we still live in the house we bought almost 2 years ago (see last post) and have filled it with a puppy named Jetta (she's 1 1/2) and our baby girl Annabelle.  Peter's still at the same job and loves it.  I've been keeping myself busy with the full-time job of being a mommy and a housewife.  It's never boring (although I do sometimes go stir crazy) and I'm enjoying it more and more as Annabelle gets older.

So, that's pretty much all that's been up with Julz lately.  My little one is waking up... so off I go!

We bought the house! (If that doesn't explain why I haven't been on here in forever, then I don't know what else will). It's so neat to see how God works and it's so exciting to watch Him open doors and make the way peaceful so that you know you're walking in His will. This was such a blessing and we are so excited about it! So anyways, you ask what have I been up to in the past few months? Well, after we put a contract on the house and decided that it was for real, we waited until closing, then we waited some more for the previous owners to rent back from us for a month until we started moving in. So in between working 40 hours a week and cleaning and painting the new place and cleaning the old place, we gradually moved our things over in about 1-2 weeks. Thank you so much family!! They helped so much.
I do have to admit that it was somewhat sad to say goodbye to the apartment where we spent the majority of our first year of marriage. There were so many good memories we shared there... so turning in our keys seemed to be the close of the chapter of that stage of life and the opening of this new chapter- to this new house which will be our home for the next few years, where we will most likely start to add to our family and blossom. Ahh- life. How fleeting, but how sweet it is to enjoy blessings like this.
So about the house: it's a townhouse, sort of a duplex as we only have neighbors sharing on one side, it's 2 stories with 3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 bathrooms, a nice-sized backyard with a nice brick patio and a cute little front porch. We're still in southern Maryland... we like it alot here- family, jobs, friends, church, etc. and it's where God wants us for now.  Enough about the house. If you want to come visit and enjoy a little mini-vacation, just call us up and let us know. We'd love to have you!
So work... I don't know if I should even get started on this subject. I love the children at the daycare... I do. I don't know if I can handle all 12 of the 2-year-olds at once though. We get no breaks throughout the day, including their naptime, when we have to plan daily and weekly themed lessons, clean the room, and write up observations to add to their growing portfolios (stinking accredited daycare centers). Needless to say, I come home very worn out at night and frustrated- at the kids for being stubborn because well they are the terrible two's, the center for not giving us breaks or understanding that the two year old teachers are about to go nuts, and myself for getting so freakin' stressed out over what should simply be taking care of, teaching, and loving children. Anyways, I pretty much plan to finish the summer out at the daycare and then I feel like it will be time to move on back to a school- probably a Christian school, where I feel my teaching skills and strategies will be best applied and where I won't be so burnt out and will continue to be built up in my own spiritual walk.
Wow, I hadn't actually sat down and taken the time to think and just write in so long that it just came pouring forth tonight. If you made it this far, thanks for listening to my ramblings and feel free to leave me some encouraging thoughts and words, maybe even ideas about how to deal with 2 year old on a daily basis... ha. I will be so prepared when i become a mommy, it's not even funny... So thanks for the preparations God :)

Seriously... Spring, I am in love with you. although I don't like what I'm hearing about how you're gonna let winter come back for a few days this week... tsk tsk. Anyways, woo hoo for beautiful weather! It makes everything seem 100% better. like at daycare we can take the 12 2-yr olds outside for most of the day and let them play and get fresh air and plenty of vitamin d- (not just good for them but good for me too). and going outside without a coat on is such a beautiful thing. and like eating lunch at the park with my husband and admiring God's greatness. amazing.

so we looked at a house tonight... as in we had an appointment with a realtor to look at a townhouse that we might be interested in buying. scary huh?!? anyways, we think it's in our price range and in a good area/great neighborhood and it seems like an overall great deal... so with a lot more prayer and thought as to whether or not this is something we feel like God is saying okay to... I think this might be a good possibility as to our next place of residence :) i mean anything above a 1 bedroom would be great.... anyways. lots of stuff for julz to be thinking about.

okay- 10pm- it's a lil past my bedtime... and 9-5 with all those 2 year olds can be quite tiring... so time to go get some sleep... *goodnight xanga-ites*

I prayed for snow just one more time before spring came... and yay! - it's beautiful! Thank you God for answering little prayers! I just love watching it fall to the ground and cover everywhere in sight with a white blanket. Just plain beautiful! So now I think I'll go enjoy getting to spend a few more snuggle minutes with my hubby and then maybe venture out to play in the white stuff.  Ooh, then I can watch my tape of ER from Thursday and maybe scrapbook or crochet or write thank you notes or maybe just relax... We'll have to see.... It's a good thing we went grocery shopping yesterday.

Peter and I celebrated our 6 month wedding anniversary yesterday! These have most definitely been the best 6 months of our lives so far and we're looking forward to many, many, many more months and anniversaries in the future!

Yesterday was pretty chill. I was able to sleep in a little bit, eat lunch with my hubby and his co-workers at the office, swing by the bank and deposit a paycheck from substituting 2 days in the last 3 weeks, drop off my application and a resume to a daycare in the area and stop by another daycare to pick up another application. Then I came back home where I proceeded to relax, watch tv, and paint my nails to get ready for the fancy office dinner. Well, my amazing husband came home with a dozen beautiful red roses- as he said, 2 for every beautiful month we've been married.  (insert "awww"). Then we got all fancy and headed out to the office dinner (there were 9 of us total) and wow, did we have a feast. After quite a few hours of talking, we came home and crashed. So, yay for fun things to do on anniversaries.
