| Haven't posted in a while, but I thought this was important enough to say. If you live in Jacksonville, AL don't DRINK THE TAP WATER today April 23rd!!!!! Here is a copy of the warning on the JSU website. IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING DRINKING WATER AT JSU The City of Jacksonville experienced a water line break along Highway 21 Monday morning. We have been informed by the City that they may have experienced a possible fluoride imbalance and have requested that the water not be consumed at this time. Water pressure may vary throughout campus as well. We will advise when additional information is received from the City concerning this issue.

| A year ago Hurricane Katrina ripped through the Mississippi Gulf Coast and New Orleans. Many people lost their lives. Many lost everything they ever owned. Many lost family members.
I feel for the people of New Orleans, but because of the popularity of the city it has recieved a good bit of the aid it needed. The people of the Mississippi Gulf Coast are another story.
I was born in Gulfport MS, and raised in Pass Christian MS. In the city of Pass Christian there are still people living in tents. The bodies of the deceased were still being found through January of this year. The high school that my mother, sister, and I all graduated from is now a field of dirt and weeds. As is most of the city. The water level rose a total of 47 feet above sea level and came inland almost a mile destroying everything in it's path. When I visited for Christmas this past year it was like being in a war zone. I saw people sitting outside what was left of their homes with rifles to protect a pile of rubble because it was all they had to call their own. All that and it was 4 months AFTER the storm. I remember the terrifying 5 and a half hours that I didn't hear from my mother. Not knowing if she was dead or alive and seeing the city I grew up in on the news completely under water. I lived through 3 hurricanes while I lived on the coast. Not an experience I plan on having ever again.
I am not posting this for sympathy. I just want us all to remember those people down there. It is easy for us to get caught up in life and forget that there is ALWAYS someone who has it much worse than we do.
August 29th, 2005 is a day that some of us will never forget. | | |

| It's been a long time since I last updated and a lot has happened. This will not be about any of that. This morning all of us music students at JSU got the news that Dr. Davis, one of our theory and Music History teachers, passed away. Those of us who know him know that he could be a bit abrasive at times and that he was very strong in his liberal views. All of that aside, I think Dr. Davis touched my life in more ways than almost anyone else here. He was an incredible teacher and his love of music was unsurpassed by anyone I have ever known. He is also one of the most talented performers I know. He is primarily an oboe/english horn player, but he could sit down at a piano and play anything you asked him to from memory. He was a joy to be around and always made it a point to try and smile. He loved his job, as much as he liked to complain(lol), and we will loose a big part of the JSU music department with his passing. It's all a part of life, but sometimes you wonder if those who leave us have finished their time here. I think Dr. Davis had more lives to touch, maybe he'll just have to do it a different way now. Rest in Peace Jeryll Davis.

| Ok, first off....Sorry about that last post. But you have to realize, it wasn't easy. Life is ok I guess, we're on spring break. A much needed rest, the whole no smoking thing has been getting to me a bit, so if I have been a jerk to you I apoligize. I'm doing good with the smoking thing though. I haven't had a craving for one, I just haven't been in the best mood. Plus I am still not 100% from the sickness a couple of weeks ago. Other than that, nothing really interesting right now. Hope everyone has a great spring break.
