| | Sometimes when I ask people what the date is, they look at me as if I am from some other kind of planet. They often respond with some sort of questioned response:
"uhh.. then 9th?"
This is typically followed by an awkward stare with them thinking I must be crazy. So to add to the weirdness, I often times walk up to them, grab them by the shoulders, stare them in the eye and start shaking them asking "no man.. what YEAR is it??"
Another thing I was thinking about along these lines is why is there an AM or PM indicator on my clock in my car? Seriously.... what point does that serve I mean... what kind of a moron do I need to be to not be able to tell when it is AM or PM!! I would think I would have bigger issues if I was relying on my car clock to tell me if it was AM or PM.

My boss is officially paranoid. She thinks everyone in the building is trying to steal her research work. So she instructed us not to speak about what we do in our lab, what we are studying, or what kind of work we are trying to accomplish.
News flash: THERE ARE 7 LABS IN THE WORLD.. yes.. world... THAT ARE STUDYING GENOMICS OF SEA LAMPREY!! And there is a reason... nobody cares about sea lamprey!!! And now that you all know what we are doing, you are more apt to coupe de grace our lab and steal all our "ever so important" data of sea lamprey crap.
To further exemplify how paranoid she is, she thought that our last PhD student was stealing our data and selling it to the chinese... yes... I said that.. and yes its true! Too bad our last PhD student is Vietnamese. Last time I checked, he didn't like Chinese people... OH! Did I mention that kids name is Kazoo? As in... the free toy you get in the box of cracker jacks? Makes me wonder what the hell shrooms the Vietnamese are snorting to come up with those kinds of names - including (this is not a joke) - Bitch Bang! Yes... there is really a guy whose name is Bitch Bang!! I laughed at how ridiculous the whole thing is.
