| Save the cheerleader, save the world! Best television tagline ever...Heroes obsession is growing steadily by the day and seemingly everyone around me has seen all the episodes screened at the US already, while I'm reduced to following Star World's painfully slow, week-by-week schedule. Anyone, please, pass me some episodes. This.is. AMERICAN IDOL Hahahaha, love Ryan Seacrest's super dramatic announcements in the beginning, wonder how he keeps straight face when doing them...This season's Idols are a little lacklustre though. It is still early in the competition but the male singers are especially blah. Excluding (and Chrissykoko will agree with me) Blake Lewis. I also have a soft spot for single-mother-with-a-powerhouse-voice Lakisha Jones. | | |
| Jackie's 2006 recap I'll let the pictures say a thousand words... Quarter century! I turned 25... With mom at dinner
And then Pi!

It was actually a joint party with Chrissykoko. For some reason, I don't have a photo of us both from the party but here's one from New Year's Eve, to show my twin some love: Got reprimanded by a sheik on Halloween...
Started a new job and went on a holiday to Kuala Lumpur, also known as the trip-where-we-all-got-obsessed-with-Vinci-shoes...
And Krystal-with-a-K came came back to stay! She's known me since 8, so I have to be nice to her, or she break out stories of when I was in high school and wearing thick plastic rim glasses... Skills picked up this year: Increasing obsession with cooking meant I am able to whittle down the time it takes to cook a meal from 3 hours to 2. Weekly Mandarin lessons meant my Mandarin has improved from being able to muster three lines to 8, maybe 9, lines. Yes. I'm smart like that. Happy New Year everybody!
| To market, to market I love Sunday markets. I've helped out at the Borrett Road Market twice and its great. You get to buy home-made lemonade and cupcakes, organic bread and antique books. Although the Borett Road Market is , in reality, a down-to-earth version of Lane Crawford. I saw a gorgeous, Sienna Miller-syle long sweater that was a steal (to some people) for $1450. According to the girl at the stall, "Sienna Miller wears our clothes!" Evidently, she is one of those people. 25-going-on-50 I've decided to take up knitting, hence the 25-going-on 50 subtitle. It is supposedly very relaxing, like meditation, and people like Gwyneth Paltrow and Sarah Jessica Parker have gushed about it. Maybe, if I learn to knit well enough, I can knit a whole collection of funky sweaters in my home studio...and charge $1450 per sweater. | | |
| Oh my days...and I thought going for three weeks without posting Xanga was long. Correction, as of today, I haven't posted and/or gave eProps on Xanga for a grand total of 3 months and 19 days.
I blame Entourage and Grey's Anatomy. More so for Grey's Anatomy. I love LOVE every minute of that show. Every Derek and Meredith elevator moment, every McDreamy reference, every time Izzie starts mad baking, every time someone says, "seriously!", every stutter George makes, every intense stare Dr. Burke gives. I love how Alex is a jerk-with-a-heart-of-gold, how everybody calls Dr. Bailey the Nazi but she's actually a real softie, how Cristina is the epitome of a type A personality. Watching Grey's Anatomy makes me want to go bake cupcakes like Izzie, stock up on killer heels like Addison and hell if I knew the brand, I'll go buy caseloads of the lavender conditioner Meredith uses, so a McDreamy lookalike will start smelling my hair in an elevator.
What's better is that there is people who are way more obsessed and have way more time then me, hence www.televisionwithoutpity.com, where there is , seriously, 10-page recaps of each episode. Not a dinky one-paragraph-TV-Guide-style recap, a gloriously detailed 10-page recap so I can relieve all that I mention above and more. Life is good.
| Almost three weeks went by without me posting Xanga - either nothing interesting happens or I'm just to damn lazy.
I finally got a new phone! And its thin and pink....The ghetto part is not so much how I manage to go on for so long without a new phone. Rather, it was how I was willing to wander around Causeway Bay for two hours plus, while I wait for my phone to be delivered to the store. Just because I want the pink one.
Speaking of Causeway Bay - Krispy Kremes opens tomorrrow! Yaaaaay and soon, in the oh-so-near-future, one will open in SoHo, a mere 10 minute walk from home sweet home. There is a God.
More so because Christine actually brought me some donuts....all the way from Vancouver. That's so sweet of her.
We are approaching the summer halfway line, as indicated by the fall collections already in store. This summer sometimes felt like numerous sunny weekdays followed by numerous rainy weekends. Not to mention a typhoon 8 that failed to reach Hong Kong and a typhoon 8 that did come but remained registered as a typhoon 3 - thanks to the geniuses working at the Observatory.
Anybody seen the diet coke and mentos video on YouTube? How some guys (who obviously had a hella load of spare time on their hands) discovered that diet coke mixed with mentos produces a geyser of epic proportions, and subsequently went on to replicate the Bellagio fountain with this concept. I saw it on Lettermen. Its kinda cool, makes me want to try it with a single can of diet coke, outside my appartment, just for kicks.
