Hey there!

I'm was just hanging out, studying (posting on xanga when i should be studying), and checking out my dad's new pics and i thought i drop a post with some new pics from my apartment.

nothing too exciting going on really.. just hanging out with teenagers, studying, teaching, worshiping, drinking coffee... ya know.. the normal stuff..

oh YEAH! i'll be in cleveland from this sunday until wed. ! I hope to see a bunch of people while i'm there!

ok, so that's about as close as i'm coming to smiling in a picture. i was getting ready shave my beard off.. every first day of spring i shave my winter beard off.. I like having a beard... but i also like shaving it off. here's what i ended up with....

yeah... i'm not sure what's wrong with my face... and don't worry.. i don't still have the creepy mustash!! i have since taken it off. it creeped me out a little too much too.

kids inc. hang time!!

Hey there!! So if you're wondering what I do at my new "job" at Kids Inc. I'll tell you... or show you rather..
I mostly just hang out with kids! It's awesome! Tuesdays I go to Manual High school and hang out with kids during their lunches... talk to the social workers that know the kids... stop in on classes that i know kids in talk to them... Pray for me! I'd REALLY like to be able to start a Bible study. There's only a couple of months left in the school year, so it might have to wait until the next school year. oh well. We'll have.
Later Tuesday night have "Boys Night" which is time for guys only to hang out and play basketball, skateboard... whatever they want. They do whatever they want in that time. Sometime in the middle of that time I give them a little snack and make them listen to me talk to them for a half hour or so. Right now I'm doing a series on the lives of King Saul and King David and what it means to be a man. David was a man man after God's heart.... Saul wasn't.
   I visit a Jr. High on Wed. and hang out with a couple of other kids that I know during their lunches as well.
   I lead worship for our Wed. evening Bible study which is held up in Horizon Hall. that's awesome! That's one of my favorite places to lead worship!
   Thursdays I spend the entire day studying the book of Hebrews to teach a class at Calvary Chapel Bible College of Indianapolis(the school i graduated from). I have to say that teaching this class has been one of the biggest challenges that I have. I love it though!! A little something that I've learned so far though; no matter who teaches the book of Hebrews, there will always be a student that thinks the teacher is a heritic!!!
Fridays I like to try to go back to Manual High school and hang out some more...
THEN..... (one of my favorite times in the week) we have Hang Time!!! Hang Time is the main event in the week were we have kids come in and hang out in the building! we can have anywhere between 35-100 kids! This is the event that i started volunteering at to get involved. We, well... just hang out. a lot kids are there just to play basketball, some play pool, a lot of them come to skateboard. Those are the kids that I mostly hang out with! I love those kids!!! they're so much fun!! Some time in the evening we make them all sit down and we talk to them about the Lord. THIS IS THE AREA TO PRAY!!! We've been teaching through the book of Matthew for a while now. I have to say that I KNOW that the kids are listening! I've had so many conversations with kids saying that they've never known a thing about the BIble until they came here. what an awesome thing! We give the gospel every week as well. a bunch of kids of responded to it as well.. but to be honest.... very few with follow through though. please pray for this. One of our biggest prayers is for 3-5 guys to truly follow Christ with their whole hearts! we've seen this with some of the girls, but almost no men! please pray!
ok, so there's more that i actually do in my week. but I just wanted to give a quik overview... HA! i jsut said Quik overview! Everyone knows that no Medlong explains anything quikly!!

Hey there! I guess it's time for me to post again. I wonder if anyone actually stops by here anymore to see what's new and exciting. Well, it's been almost 2 months since my last post and boy has there ever been changes in my life!!

The latest and biggest so far is that I am no longer the Odwalla Man!!! As of February 12th I no longer work for Odwalla Juice and am now full time on staff with K.I.D.S. Inc.!!!!!!!!!!! Can you believe it?!?! I can't tell you how excited I am!! I'm one week and 1 day into it and I love it with all of my heart! My possition in kids inc is specifically with Boys outreach. My job is to meet, talking to, mentor, disciple, brings closer to the Lord.. as many boys as possable. Can you believe it that I'm actually getting paid to talk to people?!?!?! HAHAHAHAHA!! go ahead, you can laugh too! Those who know me, know that I can talk! Right now I'm specifically working on getting into 2 schools right around here and building relationships with students and staff at the school. Tuesday nights we have "boys night" which is pretty much just a time for guys only to come to the building and hang out. We have a 3 on 3 tournament going on for the basketball players, and the basement is open to whatever skaters want to come. Some time during the evening we sit them down and do a little devotional with the guys. Tonight was only me second week, so I'm still in the process of getting my feet wet with this evening, but pretty soon I'll be doing the teaching. Please be praying for me!! I'm praying about doing a series on the life of Saul and David as men and as kings. I'm very excited about it.

I'll be honest, I just finished guys night, and I'm really tired... BUT I wanted everyone to know what I'm doing now.

hey there!

so i guess i made it through the weekend all right! so i went up to chicago to hang out with abe, tiff, and micah. fri. night to sat. night. that was pretty awesome. it's always great to just hang out with family. we played some video games, got some awesome breakfast at this sweet dinner. walked all over chicago and did some shopping. sweet time. tiff made us some beef stew for dinner.. great job tiff!! great stew!!

then i came back and did church. that was pretty sweet

then got on the road to cleveland... yeah.. so that normally takes about 5 hours or so... i was running a little late but i was determined to get there by 9:30 in the evening... well..... yeah... that didn't happen. so i get on the high way and was crusing along for a few minutes there.. i don't know 10-15 minutes and then out of no where traffice just STOPS!!! not crawls.... STOPS!!!!! there was this really bad accident that happend less than a mile ahead of where i was where a truck going west bound on I-70 got tossed by the wind into the East bound lane (my lane) and these 2 girls in a car then hit that truck... THEN a semi hit all of them... yeah.... i'm really sorry to say this but i hear that the driver of the first truck didn't make it... nor the 2 girls.... so please be praying for the families....
we weren't going anywhere with traffic though... i ended up just turning off my engine and played mandoline for a while. it's crazy to think that i was literally less than a mile from where it all happend. if i was only 1 minute a head of myself i could have been in that accident... it's crazy because i had to drop some things off at someones house just before i got on the high way. i was just going to knock on the door... hand the stuff to who ever answered and run.. but instead i went in and said hi for about a minute or so.. not too long... but hey.. who knows.. if i didn't stop and talk (like i normally do)(talk too much) maybe i would have been the one.... who knows.. i guess the Lord just knows when it's our time.... so we can't worry so much about it..
so, instead of getting to cleveland at about 9:30 i finally pulled through the scene at about 9:45 and ended up getting home at about 2 am. oh well. i made it though
i had a great time at home just hanging out with the family. did some shopping with micah and seth.. went and saw "i am legend" with whoever was home.. that was awesome.... i think scaring mom was the best part.... sorry mom!!! (kind of)
christmas day was sweet! it was just good to hang out all day, eat, watch movies and be crazy. i had some good times playing mandoline with my dad and some good time jamming with micah. it's cool to be in a musical family. i had to come back to Indy right away though. i think i finally made it in at about 12. oh well. that's life

ok.... that's a lot of writting.. i wonder how many people actually read this whole letter... hmm. it was kind of long

wow, so no one posted back about that link eh?? it was really awesome!! it's a video of Glass Harp. the band Phil Keaggy was apart of in the late 60's early 70's... i was breathless!!

ok.. so it's almost 7 pm. right now and i'm almost on my way out the door to go hang out in Chicago with Abe, Tiff and Micah until tomorrow night. I'm really excited about that! I haven't been up there to hang out since i helped them move in. It'll be sweet to have some brother time in.

Then I get to drive back tomorrow night so that I can be here for church.

THEN I get to drive all the way out to Cleveland to hang out until Christmas day. (yeah i have to leave christmas day to work on wed.)

it'll be about 16 hours total driving if all goes well. please be praying. I'm really excited about having some good family time in though. It's cool living way out here in Indy all by myself but I get to missing my family sometimes. It'll be cool.

Hey!! guess what!!! i just moved today!!! and oh what a move it was... i've never carried a large couch up 6 floors before.. i guess there's a first for everything... i just have to say that Adam, Logan, and David are all tanks!!! oh yeah.. we had a piano to move too!!! good thing we had an elevator for that one. it was a LONG day but a good one. oh yeah.. word from the wise..... NEVER start packing your life up the night before you have to move starting at 8:30 p.m.!!! wow.. i'm tired!!! yeah.. i think i got about 25 minutes of sleep.... oh dear.. that's 2 fridays in a row.. oh well. as my friend cassie would say "i'll sleep when i'm dead".

oh yeah!! more good news!!!! i got my new Canon Xti in the mail today!!!! soooo happy!! it's sweet! my other one broke... oh well..

ok. i'll try to have some picks of the new place up soon.

time to pick out my set for the morning.
