Anyway, a lot has been goin on since. I went to Orange Peel in Stillwater this weekend, and I finally got to see Shannon!!! It was so great to catch up; I've missed her sooo much. The next day was Big/Lil Day. Yea, I'm a Grand. It's kinda scary, but I guess I'm used to being old... lol. Anyway, Victory was a blast. Roomie, all iI have to say is "Don't Cha n Holla". And sharing our date Juan was great especially b/c we always go crazy w/ our diva singing car rides. Then last nite, my roomie I saw a huge hornet above my door. She's allergic n I'm just scared to death of bees, so we ran to all our neighbors apts in cokesbury to see if they could kill the friggin thing. And luckily Michael Wood came to our rescue n smushed the damn bee! Otherwise I don't think we would have slept in our apt last night.. lol

Anyway, despite of taking a overload of credits this semester, I decided I wana have fun. Afterall, this could very well be my last year and I would hate to graduate while looking back thinking I really had no life b/c I was too absorbed in school work, which I have basically done for the past 5 years. So I'm actually trying to go out more n make the best of these last two semesters!!! (So call me n drag me out! It's for my own good!!!) ;)

Thursday, August 25, 2005

Finally back in ol' OKC.... but what a bumpy road it started out. For all those who gave suggestions about my dear Nickie, I thank you. But unfortuately, I'm very sad to announce that my father put my dog to sleep the Wednesday I left to drive back to school. Unfortunately it came as a complete suprise to me. We had discussed the option of giving him to someone or to the local zoo a few days prior. His behaviors were becomming more than we could handle. I had went to the boardwalk with my mom my last day in Jersey thinking I would come home to say goodbye to Nickie before I left for good. But as it turns out, my dad had brought him to the vet before I got home. I had called my dad to see if I could visit him at the kennel before I left, but when I called, he had told me that I couldn't. When I asked why, he gave me the worst eight words I could have ever imagined: "He's off in a better place now"..... My heart broke. I never got to say goodbye. To all of you who have a pet that is loved like family, you will know the sadness I felt. Fortunatly I am taking it a lot better now than I had ever expected... but I still think of him often. So this Xanga I dedicate to my dear best friend: I love you, I miss you, and I'll see you again one day. You're in my prayers. God Bless!

Saturday, August 13, 2005

This is my last weekend home at the Jersey Shore... tear*. Summer flew by way tooooo fast! I'm trying to cram in as many fun things as possible before I become consumed in nothing but loads of school work and tons of all nighers. Ya know what's sad.... I think I get less sleep at school due to all nighters than I do from going out during summer vacation. Something is definitely wrong with that picture. Well, speaking of cramming in the fun... I'll be going down to Atlantic City tonite and Warped Tour all day tomorrow (visiting Leanne who is on tour w/ the bands). I'm procrastinating packing as much as I can... I'm definitely in denial about leaving here on Tues. Well, I think I'll continue to be in this fairy tale of mine until at least Monday night. Happy Summer Vacation!

Thursday, July 28, 2005

So my cute, adorable, loveable, kissable yellow lab Nickie is not "so innocent". In fact, he's freaking ballistic and psychotic. Not only has he torn up my entire kitchen, basement, living room... he's working on the rest of the house, while driving me n my dad completely insane!!! He's nine years old now, n you think he would have chilled out by now. But day by day he seems to get worse. His barking is keeping us up alllll nite. Now, he lately took up the new sport: swimming (in our swamp like pool out back) He decides to do go for nightly swims at 3am when he is let out to go to the bathroom. Hmm... then comes back in the house all swamp-like n gross. He's already broke the kitchen door down! It's a mess! We're seriously thinking about having to give him away... but as many of you know, I love my baby soooo much, I can't imagine giving him away now. Any suggestions...
So, nothing has been extraordinarily exciting for the past 2 days. I mean, nothin more than work, playing lots of water volley ball, n bakin in the sun. So I at least thought I should take the easy way out n find a few jokes that may be more interesting than my average day...

Once upon a time there lived a woman who had a maddening passion for baked beans. She loved them but unfortunately they had always had a very embarrassing and somewhat lively reaction to her. Then one day she met a guy and fell in love. When it became apparent that they would marry she thought to herself, " He is such a sweet and gentle man, he would never go for this carrying on." So she made the supreme sacrifice and gave up beans.

Some months later her car broke down on the way home from work. Since she lived in the country she called her husband and told him that she would be late because she had to walk home. On her way she passed a small diner and the odor of the baked beans was more than she could stand. Since she still had miles to walk, she figured that she would walk off any ill effects by the time she reached home. So, she stopped at the diner and before she knew it, she had consumed three large orders of baked beans. All the way home she putt-putted. And upon arriving home she felt reasonably sure she could control it.

Her husband seemed excited to see her and exclaimed delightedly, "Darling, I have a surprise for dinner tonight." He then blindfolded her and led her to her chair at the table. She seated herself and just as he was about to remove the blindfold from his wife, the telephone rang. He made her promise not to touch the blindfold until he returned. He then went to answer the phone. The baked beans she had consumed were still affecting her and the pressure was becoming almost unbearable, so while her husband was out of the room she seized the opportunity, shifted her weight to one leg and let it go. It was not only loud, but it smelled like a fertilizer truck running over a skunk in front of pulpwood mill. She took her napkin and fanned the air around her vigorously. Then, she shifted to the other cheek and ripped three more, which reminded her of cabbage cooking.

Keeping her ears tuned to the conversation in the other room, she went on like this for another ten minutes. When the phone farewells signaled the end of her freedom, she fanned the air a few more times with her napkin, placed it on her lap and folded her hands upon it, smiling contentedly to herself. She was the picture of innocence when her husband returned, Apologizing for taking so long, he asked her if she peeked, and she assured him that she had not. At this point, he removed the blindfold, and she was surprised!!! There were twelve dinner guests seated around the table to wish her a Happy Birthday!!!

Thursday, July 21, 2005

<FONT sans-serif Helvetica, Arial,>It's my half birthday~

<FONT face=Papyrus color=#0080ff sans-serif Helvetica, Arial,>A man is in bed with his wife when there is a knock at the door. He rolls over and looks at his clock, and it's 3:30 in the morning. "I'm not getting out of bed at this time," he thinks, and rolls over.

Then a louder knock follows. "Aren't you going to answer that?" says his wife. So he drags himself out of bed and goes downstairs. He opens the door and there is a man standing on the porch. It didn't take the homeowner long to realize the man was drunk.

"Hi there," slurs the stranger. "Can you give me a push??"

"No, get lost! It's half past three. I was in bed," says the man and he slams the door. He goes back up to bed and tells his wife what happened and she says, "That wasn't very nice of you. Remember that night we broke down in the pouring rain on the way to pick the kids up from the babysitter and you had to knock on that man's house to get us started again? What would have happened if he'd told us to get lost?"

"But the guy was drunk," says the husband. "It doesn't matter," says the wife. "He needs our help and it would be the Christian thing to help him."

So the husband see the stranger anywhere he shouts, "Hey, do you still want a push?" And he hears a voice cry out, "Yeah, please." So, still being unable to see the stranger he shouts, "Where are you?"

And the drunk replies, "Over here, on the swing."

Tuesday, July 19, 2005

So, I just got home from lifeguarding... or should I say an all day tournament of @$$hole. Gotta love the rain sometimes. I can't think of a better summer job where you can get paid to tan, play water volleyball, or play cards all day w/ an awesome group of people. I'm gonna serioualy be sad at the end of summer when this job ends.

Anyway, I finally had my first taste of pinapple upside down cake today. This rotating desserts thing we've got going at work is great. The cake was amazing! Who would have guessed all these lifeguards could cook!

Monday, July 18, 2005

So I finally caved in and started a Xanga! I honestly can't belive it myself. For someone who is only online with an away message 99.9999% of the time, this was a big deal for me. But I figured, since it's summer, I might as well do it now. Once classes start in the Fall, most of you will know, my free life as I know it will end till probably Christmas break. But like my away message obessession, I will most likely be weeks behind on writing entries on this. So bare with me... cause most will know what's goin on in my life before and if I ever actually write it down on here...

Well, Summer here at the Jersey Shore is moving way too fast! After my summer class ended, I've been lifeguarding a lot. And I realized yesterday that I'll be leaving to go back to OKC in exactly one month! It's crazy to think how fast time flys! But I'm finally considered a senior this year! I guess this will make me a Super Super Senior... aka... senior citizen of OCU. And you would think after this many years of school I would finally know what I wanted to do w/ my life. But guess what, I still don't know. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, so maybe this will be the year that I figure it out!
