| Things I've learned this summer...Yeah, I know. It's been a while. I've stayed incredibly busy this summer. After finals, many trips to Ft. Smith and Fayetteville, planning a birthday party for Tericka (who just turned 6), getting Tericka ready for Princess Elberta, dealing with all the extra activities that comes with Tericka WINNING Princess Elberta, being a music leader for VBS, mission trip to Jackson MS with MFuge (which was AMAZING), getting ready for camp at Siloam this next week, and work stuff. It's been hectic, but looking back, it's been a pretty good summer. I really, really, REALLY don't want to go back to school. I hate it so, and Tech screwed me out of financial aid again this year, which really stinks. I'm really worried about some of my classes next semester, but I guess I'll deal with it as it comes. I also wanted to post some things I've figured out this summer: 1. I might as well start breeding cats now, because I'm destined to be a cat lady. Although it will be difficult as it appears that I'll be living with my parents for the rest of my stinking life. 2. Kyle Busch is a weasel, both in appearance and in action. 3. I'm not cut out for princess crap. 4. Finding a pageant dress for a 6 year old is not as easy as you would think. 5. Birthday parties are NOT worth the trouble. 6. On Outrigger Island we say Yes to VBS Wiki Wiki. More to come... | | |
| Blah, blah, blog...I am so behind in everything right now. I have to do homework, register for classes, file my state taxes, finish get stuff together for D-Now, clean out my car sometime before D-Now, and hopefully take a nap in there sometime. I'm really stinkin tired! It's my own fault, though. I keep staying up late, knowing that I have to get up early. I was going to go to bed early Sunday night, but ended up reminiscing with my friends at church until midnight 30. Money is a real big issue for me right now, so I think I'm going to sell my Rocky. I hate to, because I love driving it, but I haven't gotten to drive it for a while, so it's time to get some money out of it and pay some bills. For reasons cited above, I will probably not be getting a laptop any time soon, either. I really need one for school, but I have a lot of bills to catch up on right now, and I could do without it, although it would be a huge help. I was going to buy one from a friend, but I don't think that looks like a strong possibility right now. Anywho, things are crazy, as usual. I had to work yesterday so that I could be off on Saturday for D-Now, and I'll have to work Friday, and then head straight over to the church. I'm really excited about it, though. | | |
| Welcome to Arkansas!"Over the past two months, parts of Arkansas have seen a tornado during a storm outbreak that killed 13, a foot of snow, more than a foot of rain and near-record flooding." (quoted from msn.com) Plus another tornado last night that did some damage in Little Rock. Crazy weather. It's been cooler than average in a lot of places, so all the "experts" are trying to come up with an excuse besides global warming for it, so La Nina is brought into the picture. But, it sounds to me like it's just another couple of months in Arkansas. I am so stinkin excited about Disciple Now! Kallie and I went over the study sessions last night, and we came up with some really cool ideas. We are going to have tons of fun! I have tons of homework to do in the meantime... | | |
| Arkie weather...My dad tilled the garden a couple of weeks ago when it was in the 70's. Nine inches of snow later, it's back in the 60s. We are indeed in Arkansas. We played in the snow and created an "Arktic" snowman. My dad threw a snowball at my dog Stinky, and about 30 minutes later I looked up and discovered the dog peeing on our snowman. Justice was indeed served. I've been in a really weird mood the past couple of days. I'm a little bit sniffly after spending Friday and Saturday bundled under a pile of blankets in a freezing cold house while the power was out. It was no fun at all. I think I'll be getting a laptop very soon. We're still negotiating the price. It will hopefully be well within my range. I'm really tired. I got in bed too late, and work is kicking my behind. It's not too difficult of a job, but a whole lot of up and down, and up and down, and up and down... I am SOOO looking forward to Spring Break... | | |
| What an ugly kid...So, I was watching a video from a Christmas play that our church did back in the day. I was 6 I think, and I gotta say, I was thoroughly shocked. It was a bad time in my life. My dad cut my hair back in those days, so I had kind of a layered mullet thing going on. I did finally grow into my nose, though. It was really cool getting to relive the memories. I can't believe how much some of them have changed. I may try to put some video of it on here some time. | | |
