Prayer

Hello Everyone!

I hope that everyone is doing great!  God has been teaching me how important prayer is and how powerful it is!  I just created a new site called: humble_prayer_warrior  It’s for prayer requests and praises to God for answered prayers.  If anyone has a prayer request(s) you are more than welcome to leave them on my xanga.  I would be more than blessed to pray for you! If you’ve got an answered prayer and want to share it, feel free to stop by!  How great is our God!

In Christ,

Tamara

Do It Afraid

Have I not commanded you?  Be strong, vigorous, and very courageous.  Be not afraid, neither be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.  –Joshua 1:9

This week has been incredibly amazing.  God has taught me so much this week.  A couple of days ago I read a book by Joyce Meyer called, Do It Afraid, Obeying God In The Face Of Fear.  That book changed my life.  My whole outlook and reaction to fear has completely changed.

Honestly, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve run or disobeyed God because I was afraid.  Fear is something that has ruled my life for a long time.  I’d surround myself in a box so that I’d never let anyone get close enough to really know me.  I would run if I had to do something that was uncomfortable for me.  But then I read this book.

Joyce Meyer talked about how we have a tendency to think that it’s wrong to feel fear, to be afraid.  But God never said shake not, tremble not, and sweat not.  He said fear not.  It’s okay to be afraid; it’s not okay to run because you’re afraid.  That really hit me hard.

I can’t even begin to write down all that I have learned from that book, but I would encourage everyone to read it.  At the end of the book Joyce Meyer said, “ Don’t let the devil rob you of the destiny God has for you.  Step out and face your fears; face your pain.  Go ahead and shake, tremble and sweat.  God didn’t say not to feel fear-He said not to run!  You can be a victorious Christian, or you can be one who is never quite able to enjoy the fullness of God.  The only difference between the two is that one is stopped by fear and the other does it afraid.  Determine today to do it afraid!”  I’m learning that it can be really tough to face my fears and do it afraid, but God has been there with me every step that I have taken.  Through my small fears and my big fears.  Through His strength I am slowly beginning to overcome some fears that I thought I’d never conquer.

Go ahead, I dare you.  Do it afraid.

If anyone has any prayer requests, please feel free to post them in my chatterbox or you can leave a comment.  I would be more than blessed to pray for you.

Nothing Else Can Take The Place Of You.

I was thinking today about how I need to be more content with what I have and what the Lord has blessed me with.  I learned a lot from the Nooma on Sunday and it's really stuck with me.  We always want more and more and think that what we have isn't good enough.  And even though we don't think we have a lot or enough, in the eyes of someone else, we have more than they could ever dream of.

A friend this week helped remind me how important it is to humbly serve those in need, and how much helping someone out, no matter to what extent, can make a huge difference in someone's life and show Christ's love.  God bless you, Mark.

I think as Christians we need to be willing to do a lot more of that.  We need to stop being prideful and start serving the people who really need it the most.

Here's the lyrics to a song that I heard today that reminded me of what I've been learning this week.

Nothing Else
by Matthew West

I tried money I got as much as I could and I went to the store And I bought it all But it wasn't enough 'cause I wanted some more But my house was full So I bought a bigger house and filled it up And there I was with all that stuff And empty

Chorus Nothing else can take the place of You Nothing else can take the place of You

Still I try friendship I called everyone I knew And invited them over for a party They ate all the free food And they told me how much they loved me But when the food was gone My friends were gone And there I was all alone And empty

So take the place The place of You And fill this space The way You do I'm tired of searching Those days are through So take the place It's made for You Not friends or money or alcohol None of these things, believe me You can try them all Not status Not success I know none of these things will ever bring true happiness

I hope that everyone is having a great week!  If anyone has a prayer request(s) I would be greatly blessed to pray for you.  Feel free to leave prayer requests on my chatterbox or leave a comment.  See you later!

God Bless,

Tamara

Life isn't always wonderful, but moments are, and those memories are what keep us going and remind us how fragile, precious, and sweet life really is.  Truly a gift from God.
