today

Right now it is friday and I am sitting in cristy beach chair (I still haven't brought any furniture..it.s heavy) thinking about the day that I could make for myself. I am off work today and I think that I am ready for a little adventure. Today when i take my deep breaths i get excited for i feel that there is so much possiblity in the air. This post may be corny, but don't you ever get the feeling that anything can happen?  somedays don't you wake up and just know that this could be one of the best days ever?  one of those days that you look back on many years from now and think of it with a longing and a smile. Yes I believe today will be one of those days for me! I  have the power to make it so!

To our cookie

You were a good rat. You were never scared of us, you never bit us (only joseph once when he covered is finger in cheese wiz) and whenever you managed to escape your cage you always came back. I will always remember your love for fortune cookies and dog food, how mom yelled at joseph  because of your massive medical bills (cookie was a 6 rat that a massed  an almost 250 dollar medical bill), and the cute way you would snuggle in joseph's pocket. As far as rats go, in my opinion, master splinter had nothing on you. We will miss you.

Currently Listening
Milk Cow Blues
By Willie Nelson, Willie Nelson

Why my phone is dead.

Today I come to you with a story that is so ridiculous that even now 2 days later after the fact, I still cannot believe that it actually happened. Even in the nut house that is the Santos residence it is hard to grasp how these events transpired. Here is the cow story...

It was late and it was time for the my baby cow to receive it's 4th feeding of the day. I lovingly prepared the milk in the giant bottle that has served as the sudo udder for the past 2 weeks. As I approached the doors leading to the yard I saw that all of the dogs were lying in wait to rush inside the house as soon as I opened the door. So being the clever one that I am I saw an opportunity to avoid this when i noticed that my baby cow was near the pool room sliding door. i entered the pool room and proceeded to open the sliding door leading to the outside. The dogs awoke at the sound of the door shakily sliding back and instantly began to rush the door. The baby cow being startled ran inside the pool room. He started to run along side of the pool near the deep end and i sprinted after him.  Suddenly the cow stops turns and JUMPS into the the pool... With out a second thought I hurled myself after him in to the freezing cold water of a pool in winter. I swear it was as dramatic as a lifetime movie, except for the fact I was rescuing a cow ( which makes fit for funniest home video). I grabbed my cow around the torso keeping his head above water. I swam toward the ladder and as I tried to lift him over the side I realized in the time the cow has been here with me it has gained weight. Kicking my feet furiously I tried to lift him over the side once more time, but with the water being freezing and my arms beginning to tire it was impossible. however I must have squeezed him a little to tight, because almost instantly this terrible acrid smell accosted my nose and I realized there was now poop in the water ( i made a mental note to turn on the filter and fish out the turd when I made it out of here). So abandoning the ladder I started to swim toward the shallow end. The cow began to kick as we swam and there were several near misses of his hooves and my shins. We made it to the shallow end and I picked him up tossed him over the side. He began to moo and ran for the door. I got out of the pool chased after him. When we reached the door I was soaking wet and the cow was shaking. So I opened the door to the house and called for my mom. "Mom uhhh I need a towel or five " My mom then replied "what? what's going on!? and if you know my mom you know these words were spoken not so gently. She came over took one look at me, glanced at the cow and all I had to say was "pool" and she began to laugh. she brought me a towel and one for the cow. I dried him off as best I could and then as if it couldn't get any worse...The cow pooped on my leg (it looked like splatter art).  Mom then returned pointed to my leg and said "gross ! is that poop?!" To which I replied "no it's liquid gold!" She went to get me a change of clothes and as I stood there I reached into my pocket and pulled out my water logged phone and that my friends is why my phone is dead.

Anyway The phone might be ok because I took it apart and dried it with a hair dryer and jeff was able to call me today! The cow is fine and spent the night in the house in a roomed lined with trash bags and newspaper.

I have a spider

A couple of months ago I purchased a rose haired tarantula. It was on sale for 7 dollars, when usually it sells for like 30! So of course how could I pass up a deal like that! I mean come on! Who wouldn't want a gianormous fuzzy spider to call their own. Ok actually I originally purchased it for Cristy and for some odd reason she didn't want it. I mean Cristy of all people should have jumped at the chance to share her room with this notoriously elusive creature (they tend to get out every once and awhile). Ok Ok enough with the sarcasm. I was taking crazy pills or something or perhaps it was opposite day and cristy being scared of spiders, that day meant cristy loved them and any bad idea that day meant it was an awesome idea, so you see it makes perfect sense. Anyway now that I have acquired this new pet I have to feed it and give it water. It actually isn't that bad and I have managed to pick it up once in  a awhile. Usually when I get the urge to pick up the spider joseph is home and for some reason right after I pick up the spider, this overwhelming need to chase him comes over me. When Joseph gets within 5 ft of the spider he screams like a girl and scampers away. This makes it even more humorous to watch him try and touch it, because he screams the whole time he is approaching it. Actually the funniest thing I saw with joseph and the tarantula (sounds like a good title for a movie) was one day he decided that his fear of the spider was turning him into a girl ( mikey was the one that pointed that out to him) so he resolved to face his fear and pet this creature. So he takes his big fat meat hook of a hand and squeezes it into the opening of the plastic cage and slowly makes his way to its lair ( I bought the tarantula a scary looking tree thing to live in because it wasn't creepy enough by itself), but just then the spider jumps onto joseph's hand and begins to crawl up his arm. I heard a familiar girly scream. At first I thought it was mikey but at that moment mikey came running it to the room and looked at me as if to say "yeah know I was surprised too when I realized it wasn't me" a big grin spread across mikey's face and we rushed in to the party room. There was my 235 pound brother screaming and trying desperately to get his hand out of the cage. Mikey was of no use for he was already on the floor incapacitated with laughter and glee. I knew that if I didn't step in and help I would have a dead tarantula and a mess to clean up. My first thought was "it's worth it"! However I fought down the laughter ran over to joseph and helped him slip his hand out. Joseph's screaming had stopped. the only sound that could be heard was mikey's laughter interspersed with "joseph you are a girl, I have a twin sister!". Joseph then collected himself, ran over to his much skinnier weaker brother and proceeded to beat him up. I realized that what happened to joseph was pretty traumatizing but, who cares, I'm evil! I picked up the tarantula and brought it over to the boys. When they both realized what I was holding over them, they began to scream like little girls and cradled one another (just like in the womb)....I have two little sisters. So far it has been the best 7 dollars I have ever spent.
