Amusing Survey

go to www. urbandictionary.com

com and type in your answer to each question in the search box, then write the FIRST definition it gives you -

1. your name? Selena:
Memorialized in music and film, Mexican-American Tejano music singer Selena was the first Latina to become an American pop icon. Selena was poised to cross into the lucrative English language pop music market, but tragedy abruptly ended her bright career.

Her untimely death gave her legendary status in the United States and Mexico. She is considered one of the most popular and influential Latino musicians.
Selena is credited with helping open the door to the American mainstream for Latin artists, and was instrumental in launching the career of Jennifer Lopez.

regarding the stars

I can easily go where it's dark enough to see stars. That's the great part of living where I live. Yes indeed. I just miss the ocean. But there are mountains here, and I love mountains.

Sleeping Throught the Static

I'm really digging Jack Johnson lately. His music is so mellow and laid back. I got his new album and I really like it a lot.

We just had a huge thunderstorm. The thunder was booming and the lightning lit up the sky. Jack Johnson's music was a nice soundtrack that was a nice complement to it all.

I really want to go see The Dark Knight. We got movie passes for our birthdays, so hopefully we can go sometime soon.

It's so damn hot in this room. Figures it's the only room where I spend a lot of time that isn't air conditioned.

That's it. I'm going to post a survey now.

p.s. I dreamt of my cousin's wedding, but it was different than how it actually was. I want to go swimming, I want to go kayaking, I want to go hiking, I want to go out where the sky is dark enough to see stars. I would like very much for Pearl Jam and Ani to play somewhere close to the Albany area. I prefer Autumn to Summer. The sound of a thunderstorm is beautiful. I am in the process of framing many pictures and hanging them all around our house. I love pictures. I am also taking more pictures. I love taking pictures. Also, I really like Duffy's album, Rockferry. Give it a listen. Also, Sheryl Crow's Detours album is pretty good. Another side note, I was watching this show I really like on A & E called Private Sessions and the Counting Crows were on. Normally, I really like them and I love watching them perform, but when they were on the show Adam Duritz (the singer) kept doing all these weird hand motions when he was sining, like he was trying to visually intrepret the song, like he was a mime or something (that spoke, duh). It was distracting and took away from the performance, in my opinion. Then again, maybe I am just weird? Well, I am weird, but that's beside the point. Or is it?

"a lesson must be lived
in order to be learned
and the clarity to see and stop this now
that is what i've earned."
--a.d.

hot summer night

give it to me slowly
let your words
slip out
whispers in the dark
the fan humming
and the thunder
is deafening
so i can only
feel your heart
that is
what
this is
and there were too many nights
lost under stars and darkness
and now
the heat
is still
and the rain
is gone
and i can feel your fingers
again
the darkness is escaping
and you are gone
