Neighbors

 Howdy,

Saturday I cut our hay again. While I was tedding it (that's when you use a tedder rake to spread out the hay so it will dry better) the rake broke. Ya, it's not a good sign when your driving along and you look behind you to see the rake turning over with pieces flying every where. I turned it off as soon as I could, but the damage was done. So there I was with a fifteen acre field of hay needing tedding. Sunday morning we found out that one of our neighbors  (I say "neighbor, but I think he lives 10 or 15 miles away) was going to let us borrow his rake. After church we thought he was going to call us to come pick it up, but what do you know he brings it himself! Not only did he bring it but he raked the whole field for us! That is what I call being a true neighbor. So once again God helps me out through some good people. If I had a choice I wouldn't live any where else in the world because of the good people here.

Let me add a side note here: DO NOT HIDE ON TOP OF CABINETS, THEY FALL DOWN WHEN YOU DO. A week or so ago the electricity went out, so we began playing hide and seek in the house. I found a great hiding spot on the very top of a 6.5 ft. cabinet. I struggled up (it was a titer fit than I had thought.) It held me for about 4 seconds then everything started giving way. It's not a good feeling to have everything under you start falling down, trust me. I began wondering how the head lines in the paper would read, "Young man dies after falling through cabinet while playing hide and seek." But I survived. The top two shelves and everything in them was a mess though. After the lights came back on, I banged the thing back to gather, so all's well that ends well.

 Semper Fi!, Joseph

lol! That sounds like something that would happen at our house!

And about the raking... Isn't God good? I remember when my dad had a heart attack... He was home alone with Davy (age 3). One of neighbors came to stay with Davy and the others came pouring out of their homes when the ER arrived to see what was the matter.

We had neighbors we hadn't knew bringing us meals. It meant so much.

wow, that sounds like a wonderful life lesson you learned there. I learned one a few days ago. "When kneeboarding, don't jump huge wake waves when the strap is broken!" You kinda go flying in one direction, and the kneeboard in the other. :P

RYC: Hehe, how did I guess that you would be one of the people to ask?? Well, Coletta(the girl on the far left in my profile pic) and I, had moved into the 'leader's room', so we kinda had our own private arena in there. She was pestering me to death about something one night, so finally I just tackled her. Now, I've never been in a hardcore, pain-included, official wrestling match before, and she's done it a number of times, so I wasn't sure how it'd turn out, but of course that didn't stop me. ;) Well, about 30 min. into it, I'm trying to get control of her head, and she's trying to keep me from controlling it, and somewhere in the tussle, weight shifts and her head konks on the concrete floor. (It was covered in carpet, but the carpet was so thin and useless, that basically it was a concrete floor that you could get rug burns on real easy.) We just keep going of course, until her elbow bangs into a filing cabinet, opening a previous wound, requiring us to stop so she can control the bleeding. When she stood up, she got really really dizzy. A couple hours later, we're waking up the EMT. Weeding out a lot more details for times sake, apparently she had a fairly bad concussion that out her out of commission for the rest of deployment, and took her a couple weeks to fully recover from. Hehe. And even though the match didn't end by anyone 'giving', several times, she asked if she had to say 'I give', because she couldn't squirm away, but didn't want to admit defeat, of course. So I pretty much won. :D :D Oh yeah, but after that, wrestling matches were outlawed while on deployment. :P
