The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it... And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God."

What a blessing from God laughter is!

I don't think I have laughed so much or so hard for a loong time as I did this weekend... my stomach still hurts. What with Charissa's New Attitude game night - imprompu volleyball, much off-key singing, ridiculously funny skit, and general hilariousness galore - then Mike (and Dan too)'s b-day party last night - I left early to babysit and stopped by later, and jumped right into the middle of a round of telephone-pictionary... Oh wow.  The route from mood rings to crazed insomniacs...  Indescribable - good times.

And I have re-discovered this past week-ish - I really really enjoy being a girl, specifically when guys treat me as such.  Whether that's shown in a visiting speaker who has come to teach on evangelism offering to carry a 5-gallon water bottle upstairs, or a caregroup brother gladly volunteering to close down the church for me so I don't have to stay as late, or someone I just met walking me out to my car at night - and unlocking it, and closing the door after me - , or my boss watching out for me in myriad ways, or simply a guy taking the time to ask how I'm doing, what God's teaching me, and really mean it... to say nothing of the times our guys step up and lead... God has blessed us so much! and I love it when men treat me carefully as a sister, as an expression of God's grace...  =)  Guys, if any of you are reading this - don't tire or give up on being gentlemen!  You encourage us in more ways than you know.  Thank you. =)

Hey you! I found you. I'm going on a hunt to find everyone from Sovereign Grace Gilbert on here. I hope to stay in contact. I must say, that drawing of the treehouse with the car and bear was hysterical. Thanks for serving Charissa in helping getting the whole place cleaned up after the game!!

You're so right, Anna. Guys can be such fabulous people when they're being gentlemen. :) I'm not sure my youth group guys will ever truly see me as a girl (I play too many sports and practice karate with them), but as a youth group, the guys and girls have started growing closer and becoming friends. I just love that. It is very encouraging, like you said.

And that "party" sounds awesome! Is it some sort of college small group, or just a bunch of friends you get together with?
