| jon benetSo some guy has come out and said that he killed jon benet ramsey. For some reason this interests me--something to with the fact that I tend to believe he's not telling the truth...but I'm almost disgusted with the fact that it actually interests me--that I actually click on the news link.
My sense of justice just rages at the ammount of publicity that every news outlet is giving to one rich white girl dying. Remember the whole aruba thing? It's like our serious news channels have become tabloids.

| g'byeWell, I'm heading back to college. Yeah, I know tecnically this isn't supposed to be about my life, but i figure I can give you a tri-monthly update.....
Summer was kind of bittersweet. This wasn't one of those summers where it's like, "Oh, i had so much fun, I'm gonna remember it for the rest of my life!"
I went to work every morning. I chilled with my best bud. I worked out. I went to church. I saw movies. I hung out with my family--not quite as much as I should.......more than anything I think I'll remember this summer for what was sort of happening on the inside----the fears, thoughts, dreams, fears, doubts, hopes...fears.
I hope I'm going back to college as someone a little different--someone who's grown. We'll see. My goals for this semester are cool.

| bowlingOne of the most amusing things to watch: Little kids bowling....
There are so many different types, and all have their own charm.
There's the kid who sprints forward, and wrenches his arm back so hard that one wonder how his rotator cuff is still intact---and he subsequently slams the bowling ball so hard on the lane that it bounces twice, and quickly slips into the gutter ( this so called "gutterball" will be a common occurence).
Then there's the kid who gets to the front of the lane--sometimes sprinting, sometimes walking. They come to a complete stop, and drop the ball on the lane....this usualy results in a gutterball, but in the more humorous cases, (usually involving a 5 year old girl) the ball actually fails to get to the pins, and simply comes to a complete stop on the lane.
Then of course, there's the overzealous, hyper kid---so excited about bowling, who manages to consistently bowl in the WRONG lane----like I said---kids bowling=good times
| At the end of Paradise Lost, Adam sees the future of mankind--and feels the relief that things will end up good. The central hope he has is that despite the horrible thing he has done, man will not only end up good, but even better than if he had not sined---the idea being that through repentance and salvation of man, man was strengthened.
The most beautiful thing about this philosophy is the idea that the hope of Adam is the hope of us. Despite, and through, our own sin, repentance and salvation, we may become stronger, more joyful, more holy.
This provides an entirely new perspective on sins, whether big or small in our own lives---looking back at our sins, though we have regret--we can realize with happiness that through those sins we were redeemd strengthened and made more holy.
