DEER SEASON IS OVER!

Yep, I just got back from Comanche, TX, where I am on a deer lease.  This was the last day of the season and the Deer WON! This is the worst season we have ever had. The weather was lousey.  For example, the temperature Sat morning was 22 degrees and that afternoon it was 85! We went from freezing to sweating in about 8 hours. This kind of weather confuses the deer as well and they do not follow normal habits. Of course, they don't read the books were write about them either so I figure they must be emotional wrecks by now when the weather does not cooperate.

Totally, 15 members should harvest 45 deer in a season to keep the herd in balance so they do not starve from over grazed land and we only took about 9 to my knowledge. I only took one deer (a 9 point buck) whereas I normally get my limit (3) and help other members get their quota.

Oh well, there is always next year.
