I'm at work and shouldn't be on Xanga. Tee hee! Ansu's an idiot.

Or actually, I'm the idiot since to me, 88 + 88 =196. Oh man...so basically, I need to make fun of her to feel better about myself.

Rum or water...what an idiot. Just kidding!

- The Last Night of the World -

Marianne left yesterday and Tyler left today.  I had so much fun with them here, doing all kinds of things that I've never done before and playing tourist like a true haole and/or a really fobish Japanese person.

Picking Marianne up at the airport. Shopping at Ala Moana. Build-a-Banzai. Dinner at Mariposa. Dole Plantation and the world's largest maze. Pineapple float. Driving all the way around the island. Shave ice at Matsumoto's. China Man's Hat. International Marketplace. Writing in the sand. Honolulu ZooArt's and getting wasted with my mom. Out-drinking my entire family and Marianne. Tidepooling. Burying Marianne in the sand. Chinatown, lychee and mangoes. Sons and Daughters Luncheon. Palama shave ice. Baccalaureate and being the overzealous sister. Pool at Dave and Buster's. Waikiki Aquarium and Hawaiian Monk Seals. Glow Putt. Marianne wasted and knocking me off a stool. Tyler arriving. Lunch at Bravo's and short trip to Pearlridge. Extending Marianne's trip on the day she was supposed to leave. Celebrating at Art's with Shoot the Roots! and karaoke. Jumping off the rock at the North Shore. Spotting green sea turtles (honu). Making too many candy leis. Playing/almost dying whilst swimming at Sandy Beach. Sherrie's graduation and deja vu of the overzealous sister. Boogie boarding at Waikiki Beach. Tyler's spending spree. Snorkling at Hanauma Bay with tons of fun fish and lots of coral. Blowhole. Dolphins at Kahala Mandarin. Ala Moana Beach and swimming way too far out. Saying good bye to Marianne at the airport. Waikiki at night. Tidepooling again and Sherrie's fearlessness. Scenic points. Saying good bye to Tyler at the airport.

And here I am.  Less than a week and I'll have to leave. The next thing I'm looking forward to is the "West Philly Country Club."  High class--here I come.

Currently Watching
Law & Order Special Victims Unit - The First Year
By Christopher Meloni

So I'm sitting on the couch watching a second episode of Law and Order: Special Victim's Unit, as usual since I've become addicted.  You see, I am slightly in love with Mariska Hargitay who plays Detective Olivia Benson on the show.  I'm thinking about how it would be so cool to have cross episodes between my favorite shows and Law and Order: SVU...The L Word, ER...and then...the camera shows a woman who strangely resembles...no wait!  It IS her!  Katherine Moennig!!!!

I was excited beyond what some would deem a "healthy" reaction.  My mom thought I was dying.  Marianne was throwing up on the floor from disgust over my excitement.  But whatever.  I ran to my room and started recording the episode.  THEN I realized that USA always replays the second episode of SVU so that I could record the WHOLE episode.

Story of a lifetime.  Mariska and Kate in the same show.  Oh, the lesbo gods are on my side.

I'm sooo happy Marianne is here.  Seriously.  This might be mean, but it's the truth...here goes.  When Quynh was supposed to come to Hawaii, I was a little concerned.  I didn't know if I wanted her to meet my family and friends because I wasn't sure they would like her.  Also, because I live so far away and in a place that seems like another world, home is exactly that.  A safe haven, a paradise, a place in which to relax and escape.  I didn't feel entirely comfortable having it "invaded."  I wanted her to come so that we could spend time together and so she could see where I live and grew up, but at the same time, I was a little uncomfortable with it.  Ambivalent, if you will.

Even though we've only been together for (more than) 5 months, I was a lot more comfortable with Marianne coming here.  I was nervous at first because of my commitment issues or some other problem that Tyler likes to invent, but very very quickly became really excited.  I knew my family and friends would like her and that I would have tons of fun with her.  I wanted her to see where I live and to have a vacation with her.

This is probably the sappiest entry I've written.  I'm really not a sappy person.  I'm not that romantic and frankly, all of that romantic stuff kinda makes me want to vomit.  But I guess all I wanted to say was that I'm glad she's here.  I'm having so much fun.

In Hawaii with Marianne!  She made me breakfast : pancakes with berries in them.  Yummmmm.

Gonna go eat!

P.S. I'm never coming back!  Never!!  I looooove home.  Can't wait for Tyler to come visit in a couple weeks.  I love my friends.
