| Random Pictures... Here are some more random pictures of various times.... One of my Journey girls took this picture - rather professional, don't you think???
One of groups of girls I took up north to the Northwoods for a Journey to the Heart, a discipleship program for girls Jessica Friesen and I...two Canadians enjoying nature
Okay, so not so professional...what can I say?

| The rabbit.......or the cat? What would you say? Which is more likely to scare...a rabbit or a cat? I would agree with you - the cat; however, I am hearing rumors from home that we had a pet rabbit that eventually got loose, and now is terrorizing the cats around the acreage. They report seeing a streak of white (the cat) following closely by a smudge of black (the rabbit). Rather interesting, I must say. I guess this poor little rabbit hops into the shed and soon all the other cats flee the premises! Now that's a scene I wish I could see! Unfortunately, I don't have pictures for this odd site, but I do have pictures from other times in the last months.... Candid shot of the finer arts of eating...
Bottom: Bond Falls - a beautiful place for meditation, contemplation, and team pictures. I always enjoy my time there when we take Journeys there. Right: Sunset on the lake at Northwoods.

| The long awaited update...I cannot believe it is well into September now! I glanced over my xanga site, which has been painfully neglected over the many months, and realized how long it has really been. My dear siblings have hounded me to update, but due to a busy schedule (which is one of the world's most used and boring excuses), I have not been able to fulfill this desire. Until now.... To summarize, I have been working with many young ladies in a discipleship program called Journey to the Heart, I have been working on my medical research, answering medical questions, doing odd jobs around Headquarters to help others, and working on the Total Health Seminar coming up in 3-4 weeks. For the last six weeks, I've been up in beautiful Northwoods near Watersmeet, MI, working on staff up there, making delicious meals in the kitchen, running the kitchen while feeding over 200 people, helping out where needed, and getting some much needed rest and relaxation. It was a beautiful place to rest - the woods were so peaceful, the boating was fun, and the company was enjoyable. God is so good and to be in His creation was a treat. I'll see what pictures I can scrap together to add more interest to the last months in my life...here's a few to begin with: One of the girl's groups I took up to the Northwoods for the Journey to the Heart

Love at first sight???
I know it's rather unusual...but I love amphibians! I was thrilled when I found this guy on the side of the road
Aleita and I decided to enjoy some bonding time by reading our Bibles together....with coffee, of course. :)

| One of my favorite books to read is "My Utmost for His Highest" by Oswald Chambers. While reading it last year, one section jumped out and applied to a situation I was working through at the time. Here's Mr. Chambers: " 'Give me to drink.' How many of us are set upon Jesus Christ slaking our thirst when we ought to be satisfying Him? We should be pouring out now, spending to the last limit, not drawing on Him to satisfy us...Beware of anything that competes with loyalty to Jesus Christ. The greatest competitor of devotion to Jesus is service for Him...We are not sent to battle for God, but to be used by God in His battlings. Are we being more devoted to service than to Jesus Christ?" How many times have Christians become side-tracked with ministry/good works and forgotten the One for whom they were serving in the first place? How many times have we forsaken our quiet time with Him because we were doing things for Him? Does He really need us to complete His will? No. He chose to use us to work His plan. How we interact with others reveals what our relationship with the Lord is like. We can only give to others what we have to give...and if that resource is not being filled by Him, our works become as clanging symbols and cause irritation to those around us. Matthew 5:14 tells us to let our light shine so that others can see our good works and praise our Father in heaven...but there is a sequence there. We must let our light shine, and the light from Christ cannot be imitated. It must be real and genuine so that when we serve others, they will immediately see that our "good works" come from a love for our Lord and will praise Him, not us. ...it all begins with you and God. | | |
| It is a common belief that God can do everything. However, this is not true. There are three things that God cannot do: - God cannot lie
- God cannot learn (therefore, He cannot be disappointed in you)
- God cannot make us love Him (He chose not to make us)
