| | JamestownWow, it has been a while since I have posted anything on here. I guess I'm bad about keeping stuff up like that. Since I last posted, the dance group I am in has been performing a lot. We had our recital the second weekend of May. It went really well. I have actually NEVER danced before this semester, so it was a great experience. About two weeks ago we received information about what is being called "The Jamestown Project." For those of you who don't know what it is, the Academy of Arts is putting together two plays to be performed three different times at the Vision Forum 400th Anniversary of Jamestown. When I first heard about it, I thought nothing of it. After all, there were only four girls who would be accepted to do it. But after talking about it with my parents, we decided that I would apply for it. That consisted of filling out a never-ending application and writing down what characters I have played in the previous Academy of Arts plays. Well, I was accepted. I had hardly entertained the idea of being accepted that after the fact it took a while to sink in. I will be gone for three weeks. I am flying out to South Carolina from Indianapolis early next Monday, and I will return on Father's Day (June 17th). This means that I will not go to ANY graduation parties or anything this year, which really stinks because I have many friends who are graduating. If you are one of those, I really wish I could be there. But I am getting REALLY excited about this opportunity. We will perform three times in front of two-three THOUSAND people each time . So that is what I will be doing in the next few weeks. In a completely unrelated note, I have really come to appreciate how one life can change the fate of many other lives, simply by following God. Let me explain. This Sunday my family visited my parent's church from over twenty years ago. There we met people, one couple specifically, who played vital roles in leading Mom and Dad to the Lord. None of them realized what an impact they would make on my parents. In fact, my Dad's current Bible is the same one these people gave to him about twenty-five years ago. And you know what, none of them are pastors, missionaries, or T.V. evangelists. They are just people who go to church every Sunday, and then live a God-filled life on the other days. And doing what they did changed my parents, which is why they have seven kids who want to serve the Lord. I know it is a lot more complicated than that, but sometimes when you look at things that simply, it is easier to appreciate the fact that God can use mortals, sources of humanity, for his glory. It makes me realize that even the "mundane life-style" can change the world, one soul at a time. Never give up. -Kara |
