People say smoking is a choice. But if you’re addicted to something, doesn’t that rule o

I'm an ex-smoker. I smoked for 20 plus years. Yes..I CHOSE to smoke. No, I did NOT choose to become addicted to it/ what it did to my body. There wasn't enough infromation availavble then as there is now.You always have a choice. It's up to you to either start somethng or not. Becoming addicted to that thing, is the consequence...but the only time it's too late to quit is when you're dead. There's always some kind of help.

Art, Art...AAAARRRTTTT!!!

So, we had a fabulous day at the Arts Festival this afternoon. We bought art! And Steve bought something too. The art though...We bought 3 pieces from this gentleman. He made them from pieces of Architectural Digest b/c of the quality of thier paper. The titles are Poetry at Midnight, American Martini, and Private Reading: The Unabridged Version. ® They are unique and gorgeous! You can see them all on his site. All in all we spent about $140 on them.

Oh yea .... and we pick up the keys this evening!! AND we found a present for my Luna girl as well. It's a huge scratching post that I hope she will enjoy.

Have a bunch more rattling through my brain but I'm bouncy right now.

What is the appropriate age to let a child have a cell phone?

I don't think a 12 year old needs a cell phone even if "all of their friends have one". That's asking for trouble in my opinion. I would say 17 or older. I don't care how responsible the child is. Teenage drivers get distracted wwwaaayyy too easily as it is. At least here in my state they do.

Pieces of a post I forgot I made....and then some.

Packing is a pain in the ass. it's not like we have a lot left to pack either. I cannot BELIEVE how much crap we have accumulated over 4 years time. I came up with a brilliant idea a bit ago. I think everyone should get disposable furniture when they move. That way you can get rid of your shit, and get new stuff later. There would have to be a fee or something, though. And it would have to be sturdy. Of course then someone suggested a teleporter. I like that idea. Granted we've gotten rid of a FULL car load thus far. But you know, it's just...stuff. What do I need all of it for? ( besides making my life a lot easier, and the boredom a little less.) Who am I going to pass it on to? I think of the most...unusual things...at the weirdest times.

We have new upstairs neighbors. Just in time for us to move ( they actually moved in before we left to Cali). They seem alright, but I won't really have the chance to get to know them.

I'm tired. So very tired. Ever since I got sick. Which, I am again. At the tail end of it thank god. But this is the third time in a month I believe.

Over the weekend we celebrated 5 years of marriage. We went to The Cheesecake Factory®. For god's sake if you have one near you or if you have never been there....go, it's yummy in all kinds of ways. : ) AND worth the sometimes hour or so of waiting time.

Today we went to the book store for our afternoon coffee fix. We bought some books. We get home and a while later I take out the receipt and notice that the cashier ( who was rude to being with) didn't charge me for an item. So I ...agonize on whether or not to take it back and pay. After all it's the CASHIER'S fault. In the end Karma won out. I strongly believe that if you do the right thing...good will come back to you. And rght now...it would ne nice to continue to have good things happen. :)
