random update for one reason only...

even though meeting them didn't make opening for their concert worthwhile, I still wanted to post this pic.  man, this gig was whack.  it was all whack. poop.

they short as hell.

and thank you to all who came out supported our show/competition last Saturday. thanks to you all, we'll probably have to find a bigger venue (which is a good thing).

ok, maybe I updated for two reasons.  i'll probably update again to let ya'll know when the DVD for the show is out.  peace.

amazing. this is my second update within a month.  well, i just thought this would be worth it.  I just wanted to say that I don't know what I would without my Beefs.  they are my best friends. even though we don't get to see or talk to each other often, we never fail to comfort one another in our times of need.  just wanted to dedicate this xanga update to them.

and a special shout out to Pam who has found herself a man-cohort, significant other, boyfriend...whatever she wants to call him.  Dom and I are happy for you.

woo hoo for Yar Beefs!

and some pictures for your enjoyment. enjoy.

.: don't mind them. they're five years old.

.: awww. i love them.

.: how we're all no longer single? I don't know.

until next time,

YARRRR!

so this update is at least a week overdue.  i apologize.

lucky for Ryan and I, our anniversary falls on Labor Day weekend (September 3rd to be exact) which gives us a whole weekend to celebrate and a whole weekend to be with each other a little longer considering we live at least 800 miles away from each other and we only get to see each other about once a month.

so the plan was for me to fly down to Orlando on Friday (2nd) morning then drive down to Miami with Ryan, spend Saturday through Monday in Miami, then drive back to Orlando on Monday night and fly back to D.C. early Tuesday morning.  Ryan was planning each day out and it was all going to be a surprise.  The only thing he told me was that we would be going out for dinner Friday, Saturday and Sunday night.  Since we've always wanted to go out dancing (not club dancing) Ryan said Saturday night would dinner and dancing, and since he's always wanted to take me to some kind of show he told me Sunday night would be dinner and a show.  He only told me this so I would have an idea of what kind of clothes to bring.  There would still be other planned things.  I was so excited, but I got a little frustrated when the weekend came close because I still didn't know what or how much clothes to bring (I hate overpacking).  I didn't want to know what we were doing but Ryan kind of wanted to tell me so I would bring the right clothes.  The night before I left he told me that one of the dinners would be fancy, like a Gala dinner, and I do not have attire for something like that so I just brought whatever I had.  I just packed enough clothes to fit one bag and I left.  The other thing he told me to make sure to bring was my passport and he said we may or may not use it.  I was skeptical but I could not think of what he might use it for that he could afford.

I flew in early Friday morning and we had to wait for his brother, Mark to get home from school before we left because he was driving down with us.  We finally left sometime around 11am and Ryan wouldn't tell me what we were doing.  All he told me was that we had to be somewhere in Miami by 3:30 at the latest.  I figured he would stop by his parents' house first but as we were getting closer I noticed we passed the exit and he kept getting phone calls from his parents to see where we were at.  I was getting really anxious.  He met up with his dad at a gas station to pick something up and then his dad told Mark to drop us off.  I was then really curious.  I thought maybe were going to Parrot Jungle again, but I wasn't sure.  I asked Ryan why Mark was dropping us off and he said that we would be out for awhile and having a car would be inconvenient.  So I knew we were driving into downtown Miami and it was already past 3pm and Ryan wasn't even sure where he was going.  He pointed out the Mandarin Oriental hotel that we had always wanted to stay in but if he were taking me there I don't think he would've pointed it out.  It was almost 3:30pm and we came to a drawbridge that was going up and Ryan started stressing out.  I said it would be ok and he said it wouldn't be.  After almost 10 minutes, the drawbridge went down and we continued driving and we came to a light and I noticed on my right a road sign for "Port of Miami"  I didn't think anything until Ryan put his right turn signal on.  I didn't believe it at first and I just kept smiling, but it was true.  Ryan was taking me on a cruise to the Bahamas.  I was so excited and shocked.  I knew I had never been on a cruise before so...yea, he is crazy.  It was a three-night cruise that stopped in Nassau, Bahamas for a day and night.  Anyways, I won't go into detail about the actual cruise, but here are some pictures.

.: our boat, Fascination.                                             .: our oceanview stateroom, R212.

.: elephant towel animal they left in our room.           .: gambling for the first time, I actually won $20.

.: formal dinner the 2nd night.                                    .: Ryan and I chillin on the beach in the Bahamas.

.: thinking about bboying...i mean me.                       .: Cabbage Beach, in the Bahamas.

.: i thought this was a cool pic.             .: what sons?!

.: on Cabbage Beach.                            .: my calendar pose. hehe.

.: i love you, baby. happy one year.      .: Ryan serving the other cruise.

the cruise was amazing.  I would go into detail but I don't want to bore anyone.

Before I end this epic novel I just wrote, I want to say thank you to my baby for the most amazing time.  I had the best time of my life and it was definitely more than I could've asked for.  You know I never need anything like this but I still appreciated it and loved it so much.  I miss everything about the trip, especially dancing with you each night with AzIzz(best group ever) singing in the background.  Thank you for the best year of my life.  I look forward to many more years with you.  I love you more than anything.

Another update coming very soon with pics from 'The First Ever CSDC Mountain Retreat.'  Thanks for reading. Here's one more pic.

peace.

come one, come all, to an event you've all been waiting for...me writing in my xanga. fascinating isn't it?  well i had an awesome weekend and i thought it was worth writing about.

sat: culture shock road trip down to VA beach for the Super Tuner show (aka 'small penis show').

- beatseekerz + zach + trailblazer = fun

- arrived in Va beach last at around 2:20, beatseekerz was supposed to perform at 2:40. we didn't even get to goto the hotel.  we killed it, despite the music being slow.

- culture shock performed 2 hours later. it was aight. all i know was that i was hella tired, considering i'm in 9 out of 11 peices (7 in a row) in the medley.

- we performed another 2 hours later and it was better.  then we finally got to go to the hotel, which was not really hard to find, just hard to get to the parking lot.  joseph missed the turn and we turned into another hotel lot and instead of turning around, we used our "FOUR WHELL DRIVE" (rizqi )over the median to get to the other parking lot. yea we definitely did that at least twice.

-we just chilled the rest of the night. i was on the fone with ryan most of the night  then slept early compared to the rest of the team since i had no sleep the nite before.

* beatseekerz before our 1st performance*

sun: day 2

*my cs family: aren't they great?!...except they're not because they forgot about me before they took this pic *

- had another beatseekerz and culture shock performance: both went well. we left as soon as we were done and headed to the beach.  as the team was in the parking lot, saying goodbye to the other teams, this guy was at his car and put on a bear outfit. not sure why he was there, but we had to take a picture with him.  it was too funny not to.

*bs and the bear kissing rizqi*

- so when we finally got out of the parking lot, our car needed to goto target first to get some swimming trunks and i need a new pair of flip flops (my $3.99 CVS ones i bought in Miami broke when i was trying to b-girl

- of course our car got to the beach late. met up with the team at pizza hut.  Lashonda insisted we all goto the haunted mansion on the strip.  i was in a group with BS, kathleen, and josh. it was scary as shit, even though no one could see anything. i think we just scared ourselves. but tell me why when i got out, i noticed i had been skinned on my wrist by whoever was grabbing on to my arm. and it's bruised. hah.

- headed to the beach. i hadn't planned on going into the water but the water was too nice not to.  later we played frisbee, but not with lyle trying to kill us with us. he freakin through it to me and it bounced off my hand and hit my neck. haha i suck.  later the guys started making tracks in the sand..i dunno why. and they started chasing a kite in the sky. in the end we all decided to bury jef up to his knees in the sand.  and the whole time i was at the beach i couldn't stop laughing. thanks guys, you guys are great.

- we saw a kite shaped like a shark in the sky and i said, "what if you face the ocean and point and yell 'SHARK' while slowly pointing to the sky" haha. think about it  does that makes sense? no? then you should've been there.

*rizqi: "this is our mountain retreat" haha*

- left the Va Beach late cuz we knew we would hit traffic. ate at waffle house before we left. yummers! too many jokes from waffle house. you guys just need to be there.

- oh and the cone (rizqi's baby). haha. Off-Road Mission #5 : joseph trying to run the cone over with the trailblazer, missing it, rizqi picking it up instead. video coming soon. haha. i love it. "yea son!! you can't see us"

yea definitely didn't get home until 8am cuz we had to drop the car off and people off. was hella tired, but all worth it. i can't wait until orlando in august, then the mountain retreat in sept. woo hoo! ok i think i've written way too much. doubt anyone will read this. well hope you enjoyed it anyways. and to end it...

*beatseekerz...mwhat?!*

p.s. - i miss you, ryan. see you soon. yay.
