| A quick post w/ a couple of picsWhile I have some time, here are a couple of more pics from my trip:
Here is a good shot of the front of the Smart Road church building.
Another shot from the Nelson-Atkins museum. This was from their Chinese exhibit, I believe. Can't remember what it was, just wanted to include it because I thought it looked really interesting. Maybe someone can refresh my memory. I'll be sure to post again soon. Till then, take care everyone!
| KC Fest '08 Pics!Well, my own personal KC Fest '08 is now in the books! And it was a great time! Here are some photos from the past five days. Enjoy!
Chris in front of his PC shortly before heading off to work.
And here is one and only Amanda!
Cheryl holding court in the basement(center). Rachel is on the left, and Chris is on the right.
I just HAD to include a pic of the ginormous badminton birdie! This pic comes from the Nelson-Atkins Museum in downtown Kansas City.
A decent shot of Jerry Manus and daughter(can't remember her name, sorry!) and a few other Smart Road church folk.
And lastly a good shot of Katie and Emily! Next post, I'll be putting up a few more pics, so be sure to watch for them. Lord willing, there will be a KC Fest '09 in my future. Until then, take care!
| 2008 Bolivar Meeting Pics-Part TwoAs promised, here is my second installment of pics from the 2008 Bolivar Meeting!
Nice picture of everybody enjoying between sessions snacks.
Good shot of Rick Sparks enjoying his popcorn. Ray Lee is the person on the right. Due to "technical difficulties", I couldn't adjust the photo to fully include Ray. My apologies!
Tom posing with everybody's new "friend", the chair! Sherry Frampton is the person on the right. This chair was used as a prop during Rick's lesson entitled "Choosing Friends Wisely". This topic was expanded to include relationships as well. Kind of hard to explain off the top of my head, but by lesson's end, everybody wanted to "get acquainted" with it! In fact...
...Rick even took it a step further as you can see here.
And lastly, myself with Ken Thompson representing the fine congregation out of Warrensburg, MO. Also, I finally got around to starting Metal Gear Solid 4. All reviews of this title give it SPECTACULAR ratings, and although I've played little of the game so far, I think those ratings are right on the money! Should prove to be THE defining title for the PS3 platform. Godspeed to one and all, and to the KC brethren, see you all soon! Take care!
| 2008 Bolivar Meeting Pics-Part OneI'd like to take this opportunity to post the first installment of pictures from our 2008 Bolivar Meeting. These photos are from the Lord's Day Assembly. Photos from later in the week will be forthcoming!
Debbie Lee and special guest Ken Thompson, all the way from Warrensburg, MO!
Beth Deyarmin saying "YOU LEAVE THOSE ALONE!!!" What's she referring to??? It's the...
...yummy desserts on ye olde dessert table! Good food along with good times!
Bob James and Florence Lee enjoying the basket dinner.
Finally, this is a round-table discussion that I stumbled upon. L to R: Grant Gibson, Debbie Lee, and Tom Woody AKA CurlyCountertop. Hope everybody enjoyed this first round of pics! More pics will be up in no time! Also, my own personal "KC Fest '08" is coming soon. I'm looking forward to what is sure to be a great time! See all you KC church folks soon! Take care and Godspeed!
| Pictures-A Taste of Things to ComeHowdy! I hope that this post finds everyone well and blessed. Here are a few pics for your viewing pleasure, seeing as how I am fortunate enough to have the benefit of digital flash photography!
A view of one side of the Bolivar Church of Christ.
And here is a view of another side of the church building!
Our pulpit, complete with a "mission statement" that a member of the congregation had put there some time ago. Definitely words to live by!
And finally, three members of our congregation(L to R) Bob Cummings, Ray Lee, and Florence Lee. More pics will most definitely be forthcoming when we have our annual study slated for June 15-20. The theme will be "What's Plugged Into Your Head?" Tom Woody and Rick Sparks will be speaking on this theme, containing topics such as "God's Top 20 Tunes", "Satan's Top 20 Hits", and "Made in the Image of God, But..." All are welcome to attend! Take care, and Godspeed!
