Wow, first public post in DAYS.....
Brian is coming home soon, about 3 more weeks. I miss him so much. I haven't really been paying attention to the news concerning the middle east as of late. I can barely even stare at the bulletin board at church that has pictures and names of all the service men that are deployed over there right now. Just thinking about it makes me teary eyed.
Last week I was getting spiritually attacked like crazy. I kept having this lingering thought that on his way home he would get hurt, etc. It's funny though how Satan wants to distract you in crazy ways like that. After my fast I really felt like I physically had weight on my shoulders. I guess that's why God has been disciplining me in deeper prayer.
On a sober note... when I used to live in SD I served in Awana and there were these 2 twin boys named Armando and Mateo. 2 older sisters and 2 younger ones that Ive never met (since I moved by the time they were born). 6 kids in all. Ate Da called me asking me to pray for their family as the mom passed away last week. She was only 28. God decided it was time for her to go home. But praise the Lord!!! She's with Jesus now!!! And her brother in law - the hardest of the hard - accepted Jesus into his life. He heard the prayers of her children and God touched his heart. PTL!!! Her husband, a backslidden Christian has been truly seeking comfort in the Lord. Neil saw the dad at church this passed weekend and went over to give him a hug.... he cried on his shoulder for 10 minutes.......... God give them comfort and peace, and may the brothers and sisters around them be comforting friends in their time of trial........
I heard a story about an underdog boxer going against the favored title-holding champion. And he kept getting knocked down. Over 25 rounds, he was beaten and bludgeoned. He just kept saying "Just one more round.. just one more round." Over and over he would get clobbered to the mat and would be saved by the bell. He couldn't see out of his eyes because they were so puffed up wth blood and puss - trainers slitting them to relieve the inflamation. And he kept saying "just one more round".... Finally, the last round he knocks out the champion!!!!! Over 25 ROUNDS!!!
2 Corinthians 4:8-10 "We are pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed"
Isaiah 40:31 "But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint."
And so it should be with our walks with the Lord. We will never grow weary if we wait on the Lord and put our trust completely on Him. "Thy kingdom come, thy will be done"... in my heart and in my life.
The worth of your life was proved when Jesus shed all his blood and was nailed to the cross. Now you don't have to prove ANYTHING to ANYONE on this earth.... not even yourself. You already know that you are worth dying for.
