I went thur my photo folder and saw that I actually forgot to share two important things!
1. Ruslan learned something very, very, very NEW about himself and thanks to Arkady, LOL!
What happened was that the group I had over my house for Russian dinner during the NAD week, remember? I found out that really almost every Russian on my table was JEWISH. I did not plan this until everyone just happened to share us their family history. I thought it was so cool. Almost everyone's Jewish.... "except Ruslan." Anyway, somehow Arkady and Ruslan were discussing about the family history and how Ruslan was somewhat related to the Jews. The second Ruslan spilled the beans that his grandmother was a Jew, and Arkady started questioning him about his family history. Ruslan was telling Arkady how his grandmother's passport was notarized as a JEW with the Star of David. It was right on her passport and she carried this secretly all of her life. Remember I told you a long ago that she escaped to Siberia to stay so far away from Germany during the time of Nazi.
Anyway, Arkady started asking Ruslan questions--which one was Jewish, your dad or your mother? Ruslan answered, "mother." He then asked, "which one was Jewish, your mother's dad or her mother?" Ruslan said, "her mother"
Arkady was like, "Congratulations, you are a Jew now."

Arkady explained Ruslan that the Jewish law said that the mother only could carry the Jewish line, not the father. Ruslan was surprised. Yes, he knew that he was somewhat related to Jewish family, but he did not realize that it meant he is STILL a Jew, no matter what. It just never hit him until just recently. He thought it had to do with...1/2 Jewish or 1/4 Jewish, you know? It is same as me-- I am 1/4 Indian and my kids are 1/2 Russian, you know what Im saying? I thought the same thing goes to Jewish line because Israel is a country and the Jews are considered as a NATION.
I thought it was so NEAT. I mean..I never realize that I married to a Jewish husband, LOL.
What puzzled Arkady the most-- he said,"You are a Jew, but now you are Christian?...How did it happen?" LOL. =)
The other day, Ruslan and I discussed whether the bible said that the Jewish line carried through mothers only or was it invented by some Jewish people and put it in the Jewish Law. I told him that I noticed that based on the bible history, the "FIRSTBORN SON" was the most important to God. Firstborn sons carry family history, family blood, etc. Virgin Mary's firstborn was Jesus. Abraham's first son was Isaac. David's firstborn son was Solomon. The inhertience went to the firstborn sons. It clearly presented that the firstborn son had the most important role in family. How did it change? Why did it change to "mother only" Barbie suggested that it may change because of Virgin Mary. Mary was the first mother that gave Jesus a Jewish line. I dunno if it happened because of THIS or was it just invented by some rabbi?
If the law actually changed from father to mother because of Virgin Mary, that is going to be so awesome because they got to realize how powerful Jesus was. I mean this TRADITION has changed just because of this baby Jesus. It is same as the ENTIRE HISTORY OF THE UNIVERSE. You know B.C. and A.D? (Before the birth of Christ and after Death of Christ) The history actually changed over this Man. Imagine this? The entire TIME history changed because of this Man. It obviously showed that this Man must had been God in a flesh. If there was no B.C. and A.D. in the 1st place, there must have been nothing going on during that time. If it did change during that time, we should see that something powerful must had happened during these time.
Know what? The government is considered to REMOVE all of B.C. and A.D. from every book today. It is said to feel that it had to do with the "religion" thing and it should be REMOVED in respect for others who hate Jesus. Wow, Satan is working his way to REMOVE every evidence that contains important information about this famous Jewish Man named Jesus. =)
Back to the point, Ruslan is proud of his "new" identity. =) I asked him what happened that he lost all of his Jewish identity in the 1st place. He felt that the reason why he lost all of his Jewish identify when he was growing up. You see..His grandmother was a Jew and was SO SCARED to be a Jew because of Nazi. She escaped to Siberia for the entire Nazi time. When fall of Nazi,, they were so TIRED of those very cold winters, so they moved to SOUTH (Georgia). Then she married to her Georgian husband who felt that it was dangerous to be a Jew, so he FORBID her to celebrate any Jewish holidays or even declared the world that she was a Jew. Grandmother had to protect herself and her family by NOT acting like a Jew. Nazi ended in 1930-1940s and Nelli was born in 1950s-- Her grandmother never taught her own children about the Jewish tradition or even reading bible at all. They just abandoned everything and started following Georgian/Russian traditions. So Grandmother was raised taking her children to a Russian Orthrodox church, taught them Russian langauge, and celebrated Russian cultures. Then Nelli was so used with Russian culture. Nelli knew that her grandmother was a Jew but never considered herself to be Jew, too, because the way they were raised.

Cool?
I was kidding Ruslan when I told him, "I guess we got to take the Russian flag down and put the Israel flag up in the front of the house now. And throw away all of Russian recipes and make new Jewish recipes. Throw away our Happy New Year tree and get a new menorah
for Hanukkah. Quit making Borsh and make a pot of Malto Ball Soup from now on."
Ruslan lolololol'ed. We d be crazy for doing this. Hehe! We remain the same because of this Scripture, "Let each one remain in the same calling in which he was called." - 1 Corinthians 7:20
Ruslan said hes happy and proud because...the more, the merrier! We have two identities now which is very cool! The more, the better. The more, the merrier... I ve made a good amount of Russian friends lately and more to COME. Now, Im starting to sniff for more Jewish friends now. =) HEH!

2. Claudia had her 1st haircut!
Yes, Claudia never had a formal haircut since she was born. yes, she cut some hair herself. I was there in the right time to stop it before she shaved her head. I was so tired to brush her long curly hair. I thought maybe if she cut her hair, then she can start practicing brush her hair on her own. Curly and long make it harder for her to brush her hair. Here!
Clauida really loves her new haircut, then we went to Wal-Mart to buy her new colorful bands, bows, n etc, so that she can play with her hair. =)
I did not leave anything out? Hmm, I think I am DONE. =) Sorry, I didnt expect this to be a LONG BLOG!
