Okay guys! So many people have asked me how to do a drop-down playlist that I'm going to make a tutorial for it! :) You must do everything i say and follow the directions very carefully or else it will not work. Codes such as this are very picky and if you delete one wrong ">" or ":" or something of that sort, it will screw the whole thing up! An example of what yours will look like is at the top of my page!

Step One

 Get the code in my "Codes" section on my layouts site. www.xanga.com/redchevylayouts_x3 go there and scroll down until u see the codes section. It's the second one! Highlight everything in the code box and then hit "ctrl" and "C" at the same time! This copies the code. IF you right-click a message will popup saying "Highlight and Press CTRL+C!"

Step Two

Go to your xanga, then go to look and feel. Scroll down until you see "Input your own header HTML" It will look somewhat like this:


Step Three

Paste the code into the box. You want it somewhere near the top.

Step Four

Now, heres the difficult part. Find the parts where it says "Song URL". This is where you will put the URL of the song you want!

You can go to Music_Galore, musicURL, Music_myantidrug or Xanga_Music to find you songs.

Step Five

Once you have found the song you want, right click on the song link and choose "Copy Shortcut"


Step Six

Paste this where it says "Song URL" in the code you have.


Step Seven

Now that you have the song URL where it belongs, you need to put the name of your song where it belongs!  Find where it says "Song Title"

Now, do you remeber what song you picked and put in "SONG URL"? Mine was "Brass Monkey" by The Beastie Boys. So I would do this:

Now this is where most people mess up. YOU CANNOT DELETE ANYTHING EXCEPT THE "SONG TITLE"!!

For example, if i delete on ot these : "  >  </
THE WHOLE CODE WOULDNT WORK! SO MAKE SURE YOU DONT DELETE ANYTHING EXCEPT "SONG URL" and "SONG TITLE"

Step Eight

Repeat Steps 4 through 7 each a different song. I WILL SAY IT ONE LAST TIME! DO NOT DELETE ANYTHING BESIDES "SONF TITLE" and "SONG URL"!!

Lets say you only want 5 songs. The code I gave you allows 10. ((You can go up to more than 100 songs)) After you get your five songs in, you will still have some spaces that say "Song URL" and "Song Title". Just erase those leftovers. Here's what you need to erase :

Delete as many of those leftovers as you need. Same goes for "Song URL"!!

Extras--

Changing the button words.

You can change these buttons to what you want.

How to do it:

1. Find in the code someting that looks like this:

The red part is what you will change! Dont delete anything else but PLAY PAUSE and STOP! Or else it will be messedup and not work!


Changing the colors

How to do it:

1. Find in the code something that looks like this..

The red parts are what you need to change. You must put color codes or hex codes in their spots. Make sure you have a # before the hex codes but if you are simply just putting the word "red" or "blue" etc. you dont need a #.
