| NEW LIFEAfter a very hard fought battle today (03/12), Cora Rose entered the world at 6:25 p.m. She weighted in at 8 lbs even and 20 inches, and in a completely unbiased and neutral opinion she is absolutely beautiful. What a precious gift from the Lord. Mandy was amazing. We went in at 7 am and did not progress very quickly for quite some time. Around 1:00 pm things picked up and not too long after that Mandy got an epidural to take some of the pain away. It worked well until about 5:45 pm when it stopped working. It was too late to turn back so in pain that only women truly understand, she delivered our baby girl. She is doing well. She is trying to rest before feeding again. Can I say as a young man now having been blessed with a little boy and a little girl, childbirth is absolutely amazing. God is so graciously and beautifully displayed in this entire process. New life is so amazing that only God could conceptualize and create this wondrous process of bringing new life into the world.
[Note: It is also painful as you know, yet still from the hand of God [see Adam and Eve]
Thank you to each of you who have been praying for us. We are so blessed it is beyond belief
Thanks

| We are idiots…
That is what the voters of the Academy told us the other day. I do not know how many of you watched or paid attention to it. Most of you know that Brokeback Mountain was the big movie that everyone was expecting to do well. It did not do well and the homosexual critics are outraged. The big winner was the movie Crash. Some interesting facts on this whole ordeal:
Most all of the big winners were independent film makers not large companies.
The total income for the big winners totaled less than half of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe winnings.
In effect, I believe the Academy is saying that the best movies in 2005 were the ones that the American people did not watch. You can argue that is a circulation issue, but I feel that these movies were not what the American people loved. At the very least our pocket books did not show that to be totally accurate. In effect I think yet again the Academy is saying to the American public “you are idiots”. “You do not know what are the best movies and who were the best actors in those movies. Let us tell you so that now you will go watch the right movies.”
Oh! If only we would have known that The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe was only a one Oscar movie, not even in a major category Oscar. We then would have known that it was not worth our time or our money. As it stands $650 million dollars worth of foolishness has been spent on a story with sub par actors and a story that seems to have not real compelling effects to it. (Please read into the intense sarcasm in this last statement). The Academy is doing what we expected going against anything that is righteous or wholesome in the name of progress. | | |
