oh dear god

can i share what my bf just sent me?  i swear to god, if this actually happens, just shoot me in the face.

so 27 is off to a roaring start.  i dont even know what's going on -- i mean, how can things really be this good?  in two weeks since my birthday:

• i got offered a promotion at my current job...
• ...which i denied because i got myself a fancy new job!
• my vp even tried to convince me to stay (keep strokin' my ego, baby!)
• i got my period just in time so i'm not going to be on it during my trip to peru...
• ...for which i'm leaving next week!

and now the bf is talking about options for an engagement ring...aaaaahhh....

i'm totally having a love affair with Life right now. 

by writing all this i probably just totally jinxed my luck, but whatever.  suck it, jinx!  my life rocks! 

does time fly or what.  it seemed like just yesterday, i was dragging my friends on an excursion to alcatraz when i turned 26, and here i am already staring down the barrel of the gun that is my 27th birthday.  crap.  there will be no party for me this year, no big dinner, no nothing.  Birthday, i hate you!  actually i take that back.  i do like birthdays, i just dont like what they stand for. 

im headed to my dentist's office in a few hours, where i will be given a post and a crown as a followup to my root canal from two weeks past.  bye bye, $2100 of hard-earned money!  it was nice knowing you.  you will be missed. *sob*

that, on top of the fact that my company is not giving merit increases this year.  because everyone works here for the love of the brand, salary be damned!  what a crock of piss.  needless to say, im trying hard as hell to get promoted or im getting the f out of dodge, because i got dental bills to pay and a trip to peru approaching, yo...

what a fabulous weekend!  the sun came out, and saturday r and i went for an eight-mile, four-hour hike in south bay.  im still not exactly sure how that happened -- i thought it'd be no more than three miles, or two hours -- but we did it!  whew.  what a way to prep for macchu picchu.

i saw my first snake while hiking.  !!!!  well, i use the word "saw" kind of loosely, since i was so freaked that i only vaguely remember seeing a green slithery thing.  and i almost stepped on it too!  that could have been the last of me.  sad.

celebrated our victory by pigging out at red box sushi.  man i love that place.  we went there with our list of fish dos and donts (no bluefin! no yellowfin!) but of course we threw caution to the wind and ate our fill of mercury.  so sue me!  i just hope i dont have deformed babies. 

sunday, we decided to walk off our stiffness and stroll to the ferry building for some brunch.  then i bought some stuff to make the best non-pizza ever, courtesy of giada via smitten kitchen.  call me lazy, but can i just say i love readymade pizza dough?  my new favorite thing, for sure.
