From The Buddha (hide)
When there is discontent, this woe may be looked for - whether one goes, stands, sits or lies, one has no happiness or pleasure; whether one has gone to the forest, to the foot of a tree, to a lonely place, to an open space or among the monks, one finds no happiness or pleasure. When there is contentment, this good may be looked for - whether one goes, stands, sits or lies, whether one has gone to the forest, to the foot of a tree, to a lonely place, to an open space or amongst the monks, one finds happiness and pleasure.

This is what I am supposed to feel, but don't know how too, anymore.

Give me release
witness me
I am outside
give me peace

Heaven holds a sense of wonder
and I wanted to believe
that I'd get caught up
when the rage in me subsides

In this white wave
I am sinking
in this silence
in this white wave
in this silence
I believe

Passion chokes the flower
'til she cries no more
possessing all the beauty
hungry still for more

Heaven holds a sense of wonder...

I can't help this longing
comfort me
I can't hold it all in
if you won't let me

Heaven holds a sense of wonder...

In this white wave
I am sinking
in this silence
in this white wave
in this silence
I believe

I have seen you
in this white wave
you are silent
you are breathing
in this white wave
I am free

My plan for the next week is lose myself in the delicious stream of alcohol. Think ill of me all you want. You don't have to live with this.

"Stupid"

Night lift up the shades
let in the brilliant light of morning
but steady there now
for I am weak and starving for mercy
sleep has left me alone
to carry the weight of unravelling where we went wrong
it's all I can do to hang on
to keep me from falling
into old familiar shoes

[Chorus:]

how stupid could I be
a simpleton could see
that you're no good for me
but you're the only one I see

love has made me a fool
it set me on fire and watched as I floundered
unable to speak
except to cry out and wait for your answer
but you come around in your time
speaking of fabulous places
create an oasis
dries up as soon as you're gone
you leave me here burning
in this desert without you

[Chorus]

everything changes
everything falls apart
can't stop to feel myself losing control
but deep in my senses I know

[Chorus]

*almost cries* My head hurts from my ears....I just got sized today, and went up 2 guages, now my bottom set is sittin at an 8g. The endorphines have run out, and now I feel all...crappy. Only a few more hours and the pain will subside...a few more hours. *sighs* But it is so worth it. I got my blue buffallo claws put in, so now they look really good, instead of just the s. steel rings.

So we're leaving for Baltimore in about an hour. Which is totally cool. I'm really excited to get out and about. I won't get much of a chance to see the city, but I do get to see a friend I've never met in person, lol. We've been talking for like 5 years, and the time has finally come! Yay!

I have no idea what else to write. Bleerrrrr.

The Special Practice Of Buddha Akshobhya

There is a powerful deity of purification called Mitrugpa who is a manifestation of Akshobhya. There are tremendous benefits to be had from reciting his mantra and even seeing his image or mantra written (refer to "Weekly Meditations" on the left side, and another will be written after). Practicing the mantra is said to be extremely powerful for "rescueing" those who have fallen into the lower realms of existence. The Venerable Ribur Rinpoche, one of Lama Kyabje Zopa Rinpoche's gurus, says it, ...

  • Purifies all negativities accumulated in past lives
  • Prevents the ripening of past negative actions
  • Purifies the five extreme negatives of killing your mother, killing your father, killing an arhat (a saint), causing a buddha to shed blood, and causing disharmony among the spiritual community of monks or nuns.
  • Purifies all inauspicious signs arising from negative actions
  • Has the power to reverse untimely death
  • Prevents all those who hear it (animals and humans) from falling into the three lower realms (the animal realm, the hungry ghosts realm, and the hell realm)
  • Has the power to rescue anyone who has been dead a long time from the hell realm, if you recite it 100,000 times and dedicate it to that person
  • Has the power to prevent any corpse that may be one week old from being reborn in any of the three lower realms, if it is recited 100,000 times over sand, sesame seed, or flour, which is then sprinkled on the head of the dead person.
  • Has the power to purify all negative karma, thereby protecting a person from entering the lower realms, even if they have committed very heavy karma-if, while dying or at the instant of death, they see the mantra in written form.*

The name Akshobhya means "Immovable" or "Unshakable." Akshobhya's Mirrorlike Wisdom reflects all things calmly and uncritically and--reveals their true nature. One text says,"Just as one sees one's own reflection in a mirror, so the Dharmakaya is seen in the Mirror of Wisdom."10 Mirrorlike Wisdom antidotes the poison of hatred and anger.
In the mandala of the Five Dhyani Buddhas, Akshobhya is usually positioned in the east (which is at the bottom) but he is sometimes placed in the center. His color is blue. He rules over the element of water and personifies the skandha of form. In some systems, he is associated with the skandha of consciousness. Akshobhya's lotus throne is supported by the elephant, symbol of steadfastness and strength.
His symbol is the vajra, also called the thunderbolt or diamond scepter. It is depicted in this mandala above his head, directly below Vairochana. The vajra denotes enlightenment, the indestructible, adamantine nature of pure consciousness, or the essence of Reality. In some traditions the vajra signifies the union of man and the Buddha; one end of the vajra symbolizes the macrocosmic realm of the Buddha and the other end the microcosmic realm of man.
Akshobhya's mudra, shown here formed by his right hand, is the bhumisparsha mudra, the earth-touching gesture. It denotes unshakability. This is the mudra Gautama Buddha used to summon the earth to witness to his right to attain enlightenment when he was challenged by the Evil One, Mara.
Akshobhya's paradise is Abhirati, the Land of Exceeding Great Delight. Buddhists believe that whoever is reborn there cannot fall back to a lower level of consciousness. Akshobhya's bija is Hum.**

OM AKSHOBHYA HUM

I was asked today to help in spreading the word of the Buddha in subtle messages as much as I can, so I have decided to change my "Daily Dharma" section to "Weekly Meditations" of Buddhist nature. I will also talk of more of my views on Buddhism more often than I have (well, haven't really). But I will make this one statement as a disclaimer:

"The views depicted in this journal are not to be looked at as the opinion of the "One True Religion". I respect any religious path, and emphasize religious freedom to anyone. Nowhere will you see the idea that I believe that everyone should follow Buddhism or it's relations. I give the meditations and talks and thoughts on Dharma to not only benefit myself in learning, also to allow others to digest it and form their own opinions and feedback."

I went in yesterday and I got my lower piercings stretched. It was awesome, because they so didn't hurt, so on Wed I'm going back in to size up again before we leave for Baltimore. I also got my second set re-pierced, which hurt like a bitch. Going through scar tissue is not fun at all. But it will be well worth the pain when they heal and are up to my desired size.

Oh dear...we got a thunderstorm coming...will be back!
