Castle ick that thankfully I was able to keep at bay until after the
show.

I
wanted to be sure that I was alert enough to convey my warmest heart
felt gratitude and pride to the one of the most bloody minded groups in
all of Haunted Castle. Yes thats right, my/ours very own Rocky Horror
Picture Show Cast. I know I speak for Jen as well in this when I say
that for being one of the smallest groups you had one of the biggest
hearts. Your drive, and your ability to over come obstacles put you on
a level to be admired. You rose to the challenges and made the best of
every situation, you are the kind of performers I am proud to have been
associated with and hopefully I will see many of you again on November
17th at orientation.

I know with all the praise being handed
out, you received little mention but you made every survey and best
thing you did was prove it could be done, even under the worst
conditions.
Be proud, stay warm, and be well my friends

Don Rea, aka Lord Sinned, aka Laird McRea

PS.
What a hoot,

I really don’t get into post festival appearances but I must
say our little foray into public performance went wonderfully well. Feleccia
did her best Lady McRea and I was given
the honor to be the lord of the manor and host; one thing I do want to note for
the future, a room full of drinking CPA’s are not ready for Laird McRea’s BIG
voice.

It was a real hoot to see them all jump and dive for their
seats. All in all the entire event went
well and a good time was had by all.

Mother Jack Knighted the New President of the CPA
organization and was able to let the Laird lose big by pulling her big sword,
all good fun. John and Heidi were ther charming the masses with song and dance.
Jane the Holy fool was once again her most enjoyable self. Not to mention all
were memorized by the Birds of Prey, they even brought a new hawk and that
adorable baby owl (founder of Janes new owl dance).

I almost forgot, I did get to crown the new president and
knight as king.

It was way too much fun.

We're trying to get a meeting scheduled at Castle possibly for the
weekend of June 30th/July 1st, so we can then pitch ideas to Jeff at
the post-Fireworks party later in July. If you are interested in
working in the Deadzone for me/Digby or as a Villager for Don Rae, let
me know. Also let me know if and when you could make a meeting that
weekend.

Don may have roles working Rocky Horror sing/act-along, while we're
looking for people to work the Maze, Coffitorium and the newest
expansion - Execution Dock/Jail & Bail area. Don is looking for
vampire and other creepy street characters.
My daughter Lyssa is working to set up their creepy singing group, the
Black Rose Buds to work street promo, a short stage show and maybe Maze
background and support.

Alright here it goes, and no this is not a rant! But I will
be mentioning some names. This is something that I try not to do but if it has
to be done it might as well be me.

This will be in no particular order so do not read anything
into who shows up first.

First and foremost, I would like to thank Don Ryan and his
talented wife and RG crew

for all their help over the academies, not to mention the
patience and guidance that they gave Feleccia and I. Second would be Rand
(character name) for his help with taking the helm on getting the food down to
the Celtic quarter. His help was not asked for but he gave of himself freely
and the help was greatly accepted. Father Finn (character name),

I cannot say how much your assistance helped me through area
rotation, I know I must seem like a total putts but you gave me a better
insight on how to handle the ip exercises.

Then we have Evee (character name) you were also invaluable
in handling the large number of people in the groups also coming up with some
terribly funny ideas for abc.

Now we come to Lord Seamus (character name), I am very happy
to have all the input you can give, this is my first year at being area leader
and I need all the input I can get.

Weevil and Angus (character names) since you spend most of
festival together I will have to thank you together, it just seems right. I
want to thank you both for being frank and honest about your concerns, I
respect people who are to the point and your points were well noted, thank you
again for being direct. I now wish to thank the new Black House family, the
Fraugenhall’s, I really love your enthusiasm and look forward to helping you
finish out the Black house.

Additional people I want to say thank you for your help and
just for being a friend:

Derrick Shaw

Donna Bullock

Angi Lassiter

Tom Ball

Jeff Yenzer

Barbara Mercardo

And many many more, way more.

I would like to say a very special thank you to Mike, Nancy,
and Mary Andrews for being such good friends.

If I did not mention everyone I am truly sorry but I am
running out of room and time.

Thank you all, and thank you for giving me (us) a chance.

This year has been by far everything last year should have
been and more.

I tell you this because something happened Saturday night that shook me too my very core. After a long day of academy and waiting for Feleccia to finish on post day projects, I started feeling rather down. Down because I wasnt feeling like things were going just right. I suffer from the occasional need to feel like I am doing some good, not for ego, just as a bench mark to know that I am on the right track. Well as of late I have not gotten any kind of feed back nor have I been able to tell if my IP has improved or was I still lacking, so to say the least I was feeling rather out of sorts.
After Feleccia finally finished her doings we loaded up the car and went to go meet up with Mike Adrews and Family, and wouldnt you know it, I get totaly blind sided with a presentation from Nancy, Mary, and Nikki; a very sweet story that Nancy wrote, and a bag full of surprises (including a pin with a Scottish Lion on it) for Feleccia . Then came Mary and Nikki with this very long box all wrapped up, and they handed it to me. So I pulled the top off and dug through the paper, and what should I find inside this wonderus box they handed me? The most beautiful Rapier I have ever seen, it looked just like the one I had been dreuling over for the last few weeks on E-Bay. You could have knocked me over with a feather.
It is so rare that people give of themselves and it is most refreshing.
God bless Mike, Nancy, and Mary they are true friends, they are the kind of people that got us started going to Faire and now Festival. The kind of people who give of themselves and make other feel welcome and a part. I have only known Mike, Nancy, and Mary a short time but I feel blessed to have them as friends. It's not the gifts, but the meaning behind the gifts that are important, we would have done anything to help Mike and Nancy with Marys dress regardless. Helping each other and having each other's back is what we should all do but sometimes egos, pressure, and the exhaustion that comes from a hectic Festival day, it is all too easy to forget that we are all part of the wonderful family that makes the OKRF cast.
I do not want to become all mushy but I wanted to share this, and hope in some small way it will make a difference.
