| First of all I want to say how proud I am to be an American. I want to thank all the men and women in the armed forces, the paramedics, and fire fighters, George W. Bush and the former Mayor, Juliani. I will never forget. Māori is another language spoken in New Zealand.Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateaturipukakapikimaungahoronukupokaiwhenuakitanatahu, is the longest Māori word, which translates roughly as The brow [or summit] of the hill [or place], where Tamatea, the man with the big knees, who slid [down], climbed [up] and swallowed mountains, [to travel the land], [who is] known as the land eater, played [on] his [nose] flute to his loved one. At 85 letters, it is one of the longest placenames in the world. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateapokaiwhenuakitanatahu What are these? .... 1) The Hanging Gardens of Babylon, which were built on the banks of the Euphrates river by King Nebuchadnezzar II. 2) The gigantic gold statue of Zeus was built by the sculptor Pheidias at Olympia. 3) The temple of Artemis was erected in the Asia Minor city of Ephesus in honour of the Greek goddess of hunting and wild nature. 4) The Mausoleum at Halicarnassus was a huge tomb constructed for King Maussollos, Persian satrap of Caria. 5) The Colossus of Rhodes was a massive statue erected by the Greeks in honour of Helios the sun-god. 6) The Lighthouse of Alexandria was built by the Ptolemies on the island of Pharos. 7) The Great Pyramid of Giza was built near the ancient city of Memphis for Pharaoh Khufu in the period of the Fourth Dynasty, between 2613 and 2494BC. The Greeks refered to it as the Pyramid of Cheops. There are more than 2 700 different languages spoken in the world, with more than 7 000 dialects. Once again my interest in snakes was sparked, this time while reading a book about missionaries in Africa, and not just snakes, but venomous snakes. Then, I was at my cousins’ house having dinner and we were discussing which were the most venomous snakes. All that led me to this, a complete waste of time.
Ok, so I thought it would be simple to post the ten top venomous snakes, well it’s not. There are a million different lists labeled the “most deadly snakes,” or “most venomous snakes.” I just don’t know. But it’s all very interesting nonetheless.
The 10 deadliest snakes in the world
1- Inland taipan, or fierce snake (one bite can kill up to 100 people)

2 - Eastern common brown snake

3 - Taipan

4 - Eastern tigersnake

5 - Revesby Island tigersnake

6 - Beaked sea snake The beaked sea snake has the most toxic venom. (could not find photo.)
7 - Western Australian tigersnake
8 - Chappel Island tigersnake

9 - Death Adder
I think I could out run that thing.
10 - Australian copperhea

hmmm, the black mamba is not on the above list.
1.inland tipan 2.austrialin brown snake 3.Coastal Tipan 4.black tiger snake 5.beaked sea snake 6.malayan krait 7.saw scaled viper 8.boomslang 9.coral snake 10.black mamba
if potency was the only measure then most of the snakes would be sea snakes and from the same genus. <----taken from some place online. http://www.geocities.com/fp_webhm/MyDirectory/MyPages/Features/Snakes/gallery.html

| More Costa Rica photos!!
Here we are getting hooked up to go parasailing. You can see a tad of fear and doubt on my face if you look very closely. I tried to mask it. lol.

This is us in the air, looking down at the boat.

This is us just barely going up. There was 900 feet of rope.

Us swimming in the beautiful ocean after we’d all been parasailing.

This is playa conchal, shell beach. crystal clear water.

These are some girls I met there, they are friends of Kimbell.

This is our friend Steven from Texas A&M climbing for coconuts.

And now me climbing … in the end we were unsuccessful.

So...I had pictures of the school I went to, pictures of the teachers and the classrooms but... Anyways. The end. | | |
| Hello all!!!!!!!
There’s so much to tell and I can’t think where to begin.
First of all, at the moment I have minimal pictures because my camera was stolen along with everything on it. I was walking to CPI (the Spanish language school I was attending) with a friend, and it was about 7:30 in the morning. We had been walking on the beach until that was no longer possible, so we walked on the road the rest of the way. I noticed two men I had seen on the beach, walking quite a ways behind us. I didn’t think anything of it which was stupid on my part. The men slowly got closer until I thought they were going to pass us. Once one of the men was level with me, he turned and tried to jerk my camera case off my arm. I had a hold of it and was struggling to keep a grip on it while at the same time, punching the man in the face and on his shoulder. It did not occur to me that, that might be a bad idea. The man continued to yank on the strap of the camera bag until it broke. He ran off and I followed like an idiot until the idea came to me that he might try to hurt me so I turned and ran in the opposite direction. Freaked me out and made me mad ‘cause I didn’t handle the situation right. But on my behalf, it took me totally by surprise.
My experience overall in Costa Rica was amazing, I wish I could convey how much fun I had and relate all my adventures but I don’t think there is any way to do it correctly.
I started out in Santa Ana, with a woman I took horseback riding lessons from when I lived there before. I stayed with her for a week and a half, riding horses twice a day. On my second day, I was kicked in the leg by a horse. I was so proud of myself for not crying. I didn’t even get off my horse. Five weeks have passed and the bruises are still visible.
Monteverde was next. I stayed for a week by myself, or well, I lived with a Tico family, but I was alone. The second week Kimbell came and even more fun was had. We had a blast!!! She is going to email me pictures.
One day, in Monteverde, I was waiting with a friend to use the atm. I took a seat on the sidewalk, only it was higher up than the rest of the sidewalk. I had done this before many times while waiting so I thought nothing of it. When I tried to stand up though, I couldn't. My pants were stuck to the concrete. I had sat in wet paint. I looked at the bottom marks on the sidewalk, then I looked at my bottom. What a beautiful mess! It was embarrassing walking home like that.
Dancing was regular and I loved every minute of it. I danced salsa, or at least tried several times. I don't think I was that bad either. Seriously, we would dance for hours.
Well, I still have tons to tell, but I'm so tired and I would rather wait to tell more until people email me their picutes. Hope everyone is doing well, and I can't wait to see people!!!!
