| Brief summary of my summer so far (for those who are interested)
* Have been working at Kohl's for about two weeks now and am catching on pretty fast. I like it but I forgot how much my feet and legs were capable of hurting from standing on them all day!
* Interesting things that have happened at work:
--an older woman came in wearing no bra with about size DD boobs, wearing a skimpy skimpy top that only covered the front of her chest, thus exposing her large breasts from the side...it caught my eye and the rest of my co-workers how poorly she dressed herself to go shopping in a department store...ANYWAYS.... so she is in my line at the register and I am fininshing up with the customer I am with, and she is next in line so she's right in front of the regiser almost...when her boob decides to FLY OUT at me---her top shifted over for like three minutes I kid you not...I saw her entire left boob and it was soo fake and I almost busted out laughing--(like one of the other girls did) but held it in and I was too embarassed for her to say anything but she eventually figured it out. Goodness...it was pretty funny...at least I thought so but I guess you had to be there.
--another thing....you'll never guess who's parents came into the store the other day....AMY's!!! She looked at my nametag and asked me if I went to SMS and I said yes, and she immediately was like Oh, I'm Amy Rothstein's mom....and she said she's working at a restaurant I forget where. I just thought that was so ironic and random.
--got my first paycheck from the last two weeks, but I'm happy I will start getting weekly paychecks!
--We had to put one of my cat's to sleep because we watched her go from blind in one eye to completely blind in a matter of a few days...the vet thought she had a brain mass...it was so sad, it was hard watching her bump into things constantly. And she stopped eating and drinking and to so thin and just unhealthy looking. She was my grandma's cat we took once she passed away. So that was kind of a bummer,--it was the sweetest calico cat ever...MUCH more affectionate and less annoying than Cassie is ;)
--I just realized that I start radiography school exactly ONE MONTH from today!!
--Not much else is new...I've just been working and trying to hang out with friends as much as I can! Hope everyone else is having a good summer!
| Time for an up-date:
Well as it seems that everyone is proclaiming their spring semester grades....mine turned out really well.I am so happy. Got three A's and kept my B in chemistry--so that equals a 3.6 about. Also made the Dean's List! (good job too Jodie and Jeanene!) I'm so pleased all my classes turned out well...I honestly wasn't sure they would turn out as good as they did.
Summer has been moving...even though it doesn't feel like summer at all. That sounds weird but I spend everyday pretty much just me, myself, and I at my house...it's quiet...very quiet...minus my annoying birds and yapping dogs. My sister works most days and my mom still teaches and has school till next week! I STILL haven't started working yet, and it's pissing me off cause I really WANT to work!! wow i never thought I'd hear those words come out of my mouth. I thought I would start pretty soon once I got home. I just feel so lazy but I should be starting really really soon. They initially were going to make me wait for group orientation which wouldn't start till next Friday, but yesterday she said she will try and move it up since I'm off school now, and maybe get a one-on-one deal for me....which would be GREAT!!
I feel like I'm in limbo mode---I guess, like I'm at home for a while just waiting to start x-ray school in July, and once that starts I have a feeling I won't get much "me" time. or "fun" time. Don't get me wrong I am enjoying relaxing, doing whatever I want this past week, but I just want to have more routine to my day. I've been going to the library and have already read one book and am halfway through the next one! Can you believe it? ME? read? Ha, yeah I do like reading. I just don't do it for fun that much....unless I have loads and loads of free time (like now).
I was so frustrated tonight...I was watching the season finale of American Idol with my mom...thought it came on at 7, but instead it was an hour special recapping all the moments of the season preparing for the real results at 8. So I kept watching in anticipation (even though I haven't really watched the season I still wanted to know who won).....but my lovely t.v.--the volume decides to quit working 10 MINUTES till 9--right before they sing their last song and announce the winner! I checked all three t.v.s in my house and all the other channels work but channel 2! It was bizarre. and my sister was at a friend's house watching it and I called her and sure enough it wasn't the network like I had thought, cause she could hear everything loud and clear. It was just weird and very annoying. Well, at least I could SEE who won. lol.
Not much else is new...went bowling and then to America's Pub at West Port last night and it was a poor crowd but still fun. I drank a Long Island and Rum and Coke...and we had fun off by ourselves...there were a bunch of "older" people there and what looked like a bachelorette or birthday party. Personally I wouldn't care to have my bachelorette party at America's Pub...but it was my first time there. I want to go back on a Thurs. or Fri. they actually have really good drink specials and no cover. Tomorrow I'm going to The Funny Bone again with some friends. I can finally buy drinks there it's fun!
Well when I first started typing this, I didn't think I'd have much to say...but I guess I did. Nothing too exciting going on....but it's an update. So there Jeanene! ya happy'? Hope everyone else's summer is off to a good start! I'm going to go read some more!

| I saw a girl reading this book...and she highly recommended it---so now I want to read it!! It looks like it would be beneficial or just a fun read--either way I want it!
Not much to say....things are going really well. I don't have much homework this week, so it's been nice. Watch it will all hit me at once and I'll wind up having tons of stuff due on the same day or in the same week. Finals aren't for a while but I feel that all my teachers are like "oh crap the semester is almost over that means I need to cram and make my students lives miserable!" They realize they aren't as far along as they need to be so they cover at least a chaper a day--which is hard to keep up with especially with it being organic chemistry!! so yeah that's all I really have to complain about. Some of my teachers just don't have it together. I can't believe I am paying as much as I am for some of my classes this semester. It's kinda upsetting. And don't get me wrong I love when classes get cancelled just like the next person but when it gets to the point where the teacher doesn't even show up multiple times to class with no prior notice-- it gets old. I bet he didn't come today cause it was so nice out--it's like I don't want to be in class either buddy on such a beautiful day!
so yea....i'm really excited for xi om's formal coming up at the end of april. I was stressed out about finding a date but I finally have one now...and I feel a lot better! haha, plus I found a really cute dress over this past weekend when I was at home....and I got matching heels and jewelry so I am really excited about dressing up. I just have to decide how to wear my hair! i'm pretty much looking forward to any social event---i'm ready for classes to be over but I am not necessarily ready to leave Springtown...I have some unfinished business (ie. i want to hit up the bars!) haha.
well i'm rambling now...i'm gonna go. hope everyone's week is going great!
| T.G.I.F.!!!! I am so happy it's the weekend. I don't even have many plans yet but it's nice to know I have some down time. Last night I went to Jordan's Creek with some fellow sorority sisters. I had a really great time! We pre-drank at the lofts and did some dancing...and I love being able to buy drinks!! ;) It was just the kind of night I needed. A night out.
Today one of my classes was cancelled so I just had chemistry at 2. It was really hard to force myself out of my room and just go...it is beautiful out today. I should have walked to class but I was watching some show on MTV and lost track of time--I had four minutes to get to class--so I was a little late---whoops!
The Active Social is tonight with the sorority--we get to get all dressed up for a cocktail-party type evening---this is the night where the new girls plan a get together for all the actives....hence the name Active Social. ;) So I'm excited cause I like to dress up--I'm wearing this dress I wore on the cruise I went on like five years ago--I haven't worn it since I was a sophomore in highschool! Whew! That was a loong time ago--I feel old! ha!
Tonight I think is going to be a night at home--the roomies and I haven't all drank together in a loooong time so that is the plan. I really don't feel like drinking at all--but I'll partake in the events and probably have one anyways. I had my share last night :) Thank goodness my friends know where I live because they got me home okay--I wasn't even paying attention let alone aware of where we were driving--thanks Lindsey for driving by the way! So, hope everyone has a great weekend. I have a test on Monday but I'm happy we only have three days of school next week--then it's off to STL for a little four day weekend-and Easter. Well, I'm off to the shower! Cya!
| Well...time to update again. A lot has happened to me in the last month or so...
1. First and foremost....I am now 21!!! My birthday was like three weeks ago. I performed in Greek Jam the night of my b-day too, and minus the forever-long tornado warning and the long wait it was fun. I think we did good and those 8 1/2 minutes I was dancing was worth all the practices. It was quite an experience. I want the dvd to come in soon! My b-day in short, was good, but I would have had more fun if I didn't let stuff that doesn't matter get to me...(long story that I'd rather not say on here--and plust it's just stupid). I bought alcohol 20 min. into my actual b-day and let me say that I love it! I love being able to buy what I want when I want, and bars are really fun. Granted, I've only been in a few and it wasn't for very long....going to more on weekends with friends is what I'm looking forward to!!!
2. I just recently found out that I got accepted into St. John's Radiography School--here in Springfield!!! I am so excited and relieved! I was getting nervous and very anxious, and I couldn't be happier with the way things are turning out for me. I am finally going to start my career....no more blow off boring, gen. ed classes--this is it--this is the real thing--I'm going to take all my classes in the hospital and have clinicals and everything. It's not going to be easy....but I am pretty confident that I will enjoy it. And not to brag...but only 18 students are accepted per year, and on top of that the schools here in Springfield are the cheapest in the state for radiography, so they get quite a lot of applicants! Yeah! I'm just really happy! Tomorrow I go register officially, and fill out paperwork. The school starts this summer--mid-July, so I won't be in STL for half of it. It's 2 consecutive years long, so I won't get much time off, and it is very fast-paced...but I'm ready for the challenge....and I am so excited to wear SCRUBS!!! :) (yes i'm a dork and the littlest things make me happy)
3. My spring break was nice and relaxing. I went home and hung out with my mom a lot, and got to see my sister for like 2 days before she went back to Dayton. It was nice to do some shopping with friends, and see my animals. I had a dentist appt., and doctor appt.(stupid sinus infections) so that was not too fun, but it was good overall. I applied for some summer jobs too. And this past weekend Marshall came to visit me, and we had a good time. (I hope he did!) There wasn't much going on, and I had to study for a while during the day...but I showed him the campus and around Springfield a little since he had never been.--and we watched Saw 1 and Saw II. Saw II was so much scarier I thought--therefore, I didn't like it as much! but it was nice to see him and we got to catch up and talk. So, thanks Marshall for driving all the way to see me! and thanks for the flowers! They bloomed really big :)
Ok those are the biggest things I can think of... School is school....I have a test Wed.I need to study for, and I had one today in organic chemistry. My brain is pretty much shot...so I'm going to take a nap now. Hope everyone had a great spring break and hope classes are going well. I have my second intramural soccer game tonight --so I need my rest--I hope we play better this game and I hope it's not freezing outside! Have a great day! :)
