| Hello friends! Nothing new to report, except that Leyton will be 2 months old in 4 days! Not only is he getting too big too fast, but him being 2 months already means that my maternity leave is going to come to an end rather soon. That's going to be a sad day in history. I'm not so sure I'm ready for that. July 23rd is my first day back, so be ready to say your prayers for me..I'm sure I'll be suffering from separation anxiety. Here are the latest and greatest pictures of the little guy.
His feet are now big enough to fit into his sandals.
Check out the chubbiness already!
I must have said something pretty funny!
Okay, so that's not Leyton..but I thought I'd change things up for ya. Have a great week!
| Leyton is starting to learn how to smile. It's so stinkin cute. Who would have thought I could have so much fun trying to get him to smile. I'm not even kidding when I say that I tried for about 2 hours the other morning. Maybe I'm crazy, but it's quite fun. Here are some pictures of him working on his cheesiest grin!
This was just the beginning. He kinda looks like Elvis.
He's getting a little better in this one. It's kinda weird, because when I look at this picture, I really don't think this looks like him at all...but obviously it is.
I'm pretty sure if he knew how to laugh, he would have been laughing hysterically in this one. Enjoy!
| I've been slacking on updating lately. I just read the first line of my last post and realized that Leyton has almost doubled his age! He'll be 6 weeks Saturday! I'll skip the mumbo jumbo and just get to the pictures. I'm sure that's what you all want to see anyway.
Grammy gave Leyton a bath in the sink. He doesn't quite know what to think of her. This is his signature look when she's talking. It's as if he's asking, "Who the heck is this lady and what is she saying?".
Poppy had to work one of the days we were visiting, so of course, we had to make a trip to the fire station. Leyton obviously had no clue what was going on, but eventually he'll enjoy the fire station.
You can't tell in this picture, but that's Aunt Lindsey holding Leyton. She visited and helped out for a week. We had a lot of fun. Well, that's pretty much what we have been up to. I'll try to update a little sooner next time. Enjoy!
| Leyton will be 3 weeks tomorrow! It definitely doesn't seem like he's been around for that long already, but it's true. This has been the first week on our own...meaning we haven't had any overnight visitors this week. [My mom stayed with us the first week, and Josh's mom stayed the second week.] It's actually been kinda nice to be on our own. I definitely appreciated the help, but I have to admit, I was ready to give things a try by ourselves. And...I must say, we've gotten along just fine. Leyton has finally decided to sleep for about 3 hours at a time at night...at least he's done so for the past 3 nights. I'm hoping this is going to be a continual thing and maybe he'll even start sleeping longer soon! I'm probably asking for too much this early, but I still haven't caught up on sleep from the time in the hospital. They say you're supposed to sleep when the baby sleeps during the day, but that's when I can actually get things done around the house or even shower, so that's not been the case. Maybe one of these days I'll learn. I figured everyone might be ready for an updated picture or two...so here ya go.
We had a photo shoot last Saturday. Leyton was 2 weeks old.
First tummy time. He wasn't really sure what he was supposed to be doing, but he did lift his head up and turn it from side to side and then eventually rolled himself off the mat.
He's not a big fan of bath time...he likes it better when it's all finished and he can be wrapped up in a towel. As you can see...he's already getting a double chin! He likes to eat. That's all for now. Have a good weekend!
| So I think my child might be slightly spoiled already. He HATES to not be held. This is quite the problem at night when I want to be sleeping and he wants to be held. Let's just say we have issues. I'll be happy when he finally figures out what night time is and what you're supposed to do at that time. I'm thinking it's going to take a few more weeks. Pray for me. | | |
