Ch- ch- ch- changes

So, WE GOT THE GRANT!!!   YEA!!!  Thank you to Eli Lilly and  all the staff, faculty and especially the president and dean here at LTS who made the continuation of Leadership Now possible.  And now the hard work begins - we have to match this grant (and then some).

As another important note to you all- we are looking at starting a regular blog (outside of xanga, my space, and facebook- all the many places we have found you all over the last three years).  So, we'll be linking that to our website, and will let you know when it is up and running.

Also- Tim is doing well and has let us know that he has a house and a dog and all sorts of great things going on (Yea Tim!!!  Way to go!)  So we wish him many blessings as he builds this awesome new life in Ohio.

We are just now figuring out what life will look like here in Lancaster, but many of the programs will stay the same, such as Girls and God, and Guys and God, and the Leadership academy.   Some things will change and grow like the Sabbath retreat for adults, and the reunion retreats which have been changed into something entirely new!  So, we hope you'll keep in touch with us, keep your eyes open for the new things that are happening, and keep us in your prayers, just as we keep you in ours.

Until next time (which with this xanga thing, who knows when that might be....)
Blessings and Peace,
Jacquie

Some News

It's been a long time since our last post. We have been working, worrying, and hoping and now have some news for all who care about Leadership Now.

First news, the foundation that has so generously supported Leadership Now has offered a partial renewal of our grant. I will be writing the first draft of our grant request over the next few weeks. The grant will be for up to 600 K if the school agrees to raise money to match it. This leads to additional good news, the faculty, administration and trustees of LTS have all clearly stated in teh past few weeks that Leadership Now is an important part of the life of the seminary. Our advancement office (the fundraisers) have agreed that raising money for Leadership Now will be a priority for the next four years and will work to secure the matching funds for the grant - so Leadership Now will continue for the next four years.

Now other news, though the program will continue, I will no longer be the Director of Leadership Now.

I have accepted a tenure track position at another seminary. Though this is a tough decision, it is necessary for both my vocation as a teacher/scholar and the wisest use of Leadership Now resources. If you have any questions, write me. I will be involved with the Leadership Academy and SGE this summer, so there will be plenty of time to say goodbye. I want to thank all of you who have been involved in helping make this the best four years of my life. - Tim

Thank you and Help!!

Thank you to the folks who have repsonded to my plea for input on what Leadership Now has done for you. If you haven't written anything yet, then HELP! I am in the midst of writing our final (please don't be final, please give us more money) report to the Lilly Endowment, Inc. I can use any of your responses about what you've learned, how you are involved in your churches (has that changed?), and what are you thinking about life, work, faith, you know the biggies.

Thank you - Tim (with no fish)

FYI - SGE 2006 applications for the Pilgrimage of Prayer and Peace to Taize, France and Geneva, Switzerland were due this past Friday.  If you didn't mail it on Friday it would be a good idea to let us know you are sending it in.  We will be making final decisions and mailing out acceptance letters January 20.  If you would like to go you need to get your application in ASAP!

Thanks ~Courtney and the Clownfish (kind of like hootie and the blowfish but much funnier)
