This week, despite being a day shorter than usual (due to Monday being Columbus Day and therefore no school), has been pretty eventful.  Exams in Ethics and Calc 3 were the primary academic considerations, but they were compounded by my getting up at 0445 to prepare for the Fall PRT (physical readiness test).  I was a little disappointed with how the PRT went, but the administration is really cracking down on pushup/situp form this year so I think I did better than the median in these circumstances.  Regardless, always room for improvement.

So this afternoon we have a parade for the Chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (read: important) so hopefully not too many people pass out today.  I'm sure it's a little strange to think that standing at attention/parade rest for an extended period of time will cause one to pass out, but if the heat is high enough, it's a lot easier than it sounds.  I've never reached that point myself, perhaps because of my debating experience that taught me not to ever lock my knees.

Thanksgiving is around the corner, which is relatively close to Christmas, which is practically Spring break. . .which means Cancun, Mexico.  Yay.  I'm not sure how I'm going to fund the idea, but hey, if it's meant to happen it will.

It's probably not meant to happen.  Semper Fi

OK, so it's been forever and a day since I've been back here, and from the looks of the crystal ball it may be almost as long until I come back.  This semester is ridiculous; even though there's a dramatic inherent difference from freshman year (aka I'm not a plebe), the academic load is rather hefty.  I'm a quantitative economics major, and right now I'm taking 21 credits...of course, it could be worse, but regardless, I'm really busy.

Right now I'm sitting in the middle of my programming class, during the time allotted for the six-week exam.  Good times.

Life is good, except for doing poorly on two exams this morning (microeconomics and advanced navigation).  Oh well.  I'm developing a parasitical desire to get the heck out of here for a weekend sometime very soon; but who am I kidding...I go to the Naval Academy, known to many as Penitentiary: Annapolis.

I'm psyched about the Annapolis movie that's coming out in January.  I'm sure there will be substantial deviations from how this place really is (which is why the film was not permitted to be filmed on location), but I hope it will be wildly entertaining allthesame.

Peace.  Love. Semper Fi.

And so the adventure continues.  Alabama was a great time.  I am definitely ready for whatever adventures the summer holds.  I'm looking at a couple weeks of leave, a sailing cruise to Nova Scotia, and a surface cruise somewhere else.  Should be a good time, I hope.

It's been a long time since last I even considered visiting Xanga and posting an entry.  The remainder of the semester has flown by and now I've just got two finals left and then school's out for the summer...

Of course, it's not like I get to goof off this summer or anything...Even so, I'll have a couple weeks of leave to go back home and chill with the homies.  I haven't decided if I'm going to nationals or not yet; there's no pressing reason to other than to support my darling siblings, which is reason enough for me, and plane tickets are absolutely ridiculous.  I don't know; I hope it works out.

Life here is perpetually crazy.  Sometimes I ask myself why anyone would want to drag themselves out of bed every morning, go to various mandatory formations on time, learn discipline and work ethic, improve themselves morally, mentally, and physically....and basically have no fun in their college experience.  Of course, after I ask myself that, I realize that that is why I am here.

Because my mommy would shoot me otherwise.

Next week I'm going to alabama with a bunch of reckless mids to commemorate the end of finals and our (equivalent to) freshman year.  It should be filled with lots of wakeboarding and sunshine.  Good times.  I can't wait to get out of here for a while.

A couple of weeks ago I succombed to the peer pressures of my institution and joined thefacebook.com.  It's sortof entertaining I suppose; too bad I don't know where most of my friends go to school.

Semper fi.
