| "I have a dream....""I have a dream...." Those were the famous words spoken by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr some 40 years ago. What few people realize is that Dr. King had originally prepared a much different speech that day. But as he was making his way to the podium gospel singer Mahalia Jackson called out, "Tell them about your dream, Martin!
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr had a dream.....do you? What does your dream include? Money? Fame? Accolades? God? I pray your dream does include God. And not only just God, but making Him known to others. What are you doing today that draws you closer to that dream?
My encouragement to you; "Tell them about your dream!

| Religion Often Gets In the Way of GodI just listened to Bono (U2) speak at the National Prayer Breakfast as the President's guest. Yes, George Bush chose Bono to speak at a prayer breakfast. And as I was able to lay down my prejudices and preconceived notions about this rock star, I heard the gospel proclaimed with great fervor and spirit.
No, Bono is no saint.....actually he is a self-proclaimed "seeker". But two comments rang crystal clear in his speech. First, "don't ask God to bless what you're doing - instead find out what God's doing and get involved it that. And the second thing was.... "religion often gets in the way of God". I agree whole heartedly.
My questions are; "Why is that?" And...."What are you gonna do about it?"
| Life is very shortOne thing I've recently reflected on........Life is very short.
It's something I'm sure we've all thought about atleast once....but how many of us have allowed that fact to change the manner in which we live our lives each and every day?
Well.....it should effect every aspect of how we think, act, communicate and live. Jesus put it this way, "I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of." (Jhn 10:10; Message)
| Modern Day EvangelistsGod has illustrated to me through the one:one groups that the Body of Christ has some pretty remarkable people, with some pretty remarkable gifts and talents. Of course I knew all of you were great and all. But He reminded me that we are all suppose to be Modern Day Evangelists.
Jesus only used the word "church" twice in scriptures; and when He did He changed the meaning forever. The word church was originally used to describe people who made a difference in their community; mainly city government officials. But Jesus said that the church (ecclesia) were those called out to do good, called out to do the will of God.
We are the "Church", or those called out to do the will of God today. Christ' last command to us was to "go make disciples" (Matt 28:19) That's God's will for today. And if we don't do it, who will?
