| Boston was wicked fun. Had to go to a bunch of CE courses to make up for missed clinic but i guess the trip was worth it. SUNY-O won the Optometric Superbowl. It was awesome.
Dallas 2005- 2nd round Las Vegas 2006- 1st round knocked out Boston 2007: WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS
Next yr I will be going as a Doctor.
Back to Clinic....

| Clinic got better
I'm use to the hours. I was just venting because i lot of things happened to me. It was so bad that my BP was 160/110 two saturdays ago. Maybe there has to do something with running, but i felt better last week and i feel good this week. My BP is down to 135/90... still high but much better. Plus my cholesterol is 150. I'm still trying to slim down but its tough. Little at a time. Goal is 185 by summers end. Totally reasonable.

In one month my sister is getting married in Korea to a really nice guy who i still call Mr. Shin. I guess that's the big story in my household. My sister's wedding.
As for myself, it is finally 4th yr. Gone are all the years of exams and now i'm in the midst of 8AM-8PM days of clinic. I hate it. I try to think positive because it is a learning experience but i really hate it. Hate is such a harsh word but it so perfectly explains how i feel about my clinic experience at school. There are pleasant moments once in a while but every day there seems to be an ass of a supervisor to ruin the day. People at school are great. By now, most of my classmates are like sibblings to me. Still, the ones that i am closest to are gone. Far away on the other side of this country doing their externship, i long for their return back home. I consider NY my home but to them, Home is Georgia. Home is Arizona. Home is California. Graduation day will truly be a sad day. I wish my family would understand me more. It saddens me and depresses me. I don't show it but I am choking inside. Stubborn, unbending people. I stare out into space. The humming sound in my ear is all that i hear. My heart beats so hard i feel it shake my body.
Another day is done.

| Mexico was great. Our team consisting of 21 students and 5 doctors saw 1000+ patients and saw miracles performed. God is truly Great and bigger than we can ever imagine.
The food was great too. So abundant. 2nds and occassional 3rds was common for each meal. Multiply each meal by 2 and count 8 days, that is 48+ meals i ate, not to mention snacks. When i got back home, the scale did not comfort me one bit. I was mortified, terrified, horrified, and stupified.
I made a bet with someone that i would avoid pork, beef, and chicken for this week (starting today). She doesn't think i can do it.
I am a 200+ lb guy trying to avoid meat. To me, this is tougher than running a 26 mile marathon or saying no to free money.
I specifically told my mother that i was on this "Bet" to avoid meat. So what does she make for dinner? Chicken nuggets, sausage and chicken fried rice, and seaweed soup. Que lastima!!...... I cried inside each delicious sausage i had to dig out of my bowl. My lips trembled when i removed the chicken. My heart sank when i said no to the delicious golden chicken nuggets.... Oh the pain!!
I must stay strong....
edit: DAMN!! EVERYONE THINKS THEY ARE A FRIGGIN ENGLISH MAJOR IN THIS WORLD!!!

| Mexico is great. Visited a Nazarene Church today for sunday worship service. Tomorrow we will head out to the villages and provide Eye care. We will be roughing it for the next few days. Its gonna be great. Please pray for our Optometric team. God Bless to you all back home.
Sam Choi
P.S. Interesting Fact: A lot of the natives at the villages dont speak spanish even though it is mexico. They speak Zapotec which is an ancient Aztec language.
