| i guess i'm only going to use to rant about everything since there's nothing else to write about.
so, you do not have to read this unless you feel like reading about jessica going on about how the jps team sucks.
From what i heard, jps's swim team is going to be varsity- as long as you pay $300 that is. that means that even the worst swimmers in the world can join varsity as long as they pay. now, i know i wanted the team to be offical, but this is not what i wanted. all i wanted was the team to be recognized at the gmcs, which would allow the team to swim relays and recieve points for placing well. but no, we might have practice 3 times a week, meets on the weekends, swimming with annoying people- seriously! that is going to suck.
If the jps team is going to have practices, meets, bad swimmers, and a fine, i will most likely not join the team. i know, shock shock shock. but it is so stupid that i should have to pay to represent the school. jps should consider itself lucky to have experienced swimmers. i know that people would pay the $300 just to be on varsity..being that, as of now, anyone can join the team. that's it. $300, and boom, you're on varsity. no training, no experience, no jv team - pure varsity. its not worth it. balancing MEY, with jps, duel meets, school meets, projects, test, clubs, friends... id' rather skip the school spirit and stick with one team..
did i ever mention that i deplore jps? i really do. unless i'm captain- which is doubtful because the current captain is probably going to choose her friends- i do not think i will be doing jps swim team...along with all the other reasons of why i'm not joining. yes, i'll miss seeing my friends at gmcs; yes i'll miss being in the pep rally, but that's the price to pay (without money). where am i going to get $300 anyway?!?! it would take me about 2 months just to get that money. i was so happy of just getting a swimsuit last year, but apparently, people want more. the parents in charge think that it is so great the jps team is "official," but i'm sure they will find out that it will be a greater hassle unless they change the way the team is going to be run.
now, this is not certain yet, but it is what my friend told me after she asked the president of the prarent swim team thing... hopefully, things are going to change.
hm, anyone want to go to ny with me to do hist extra credit next week?
