| Being sick stinks!I hate being sick! It's fun to lay on the couch for those first couple of hours and watch tv, but after a while it gets really old. We are house sitting right now for a family and thankfully they have cable. If I was at my apartment I would be stuck watching two channels. The house is pretty much in the mountains and this morning there was a deer right at the front door eating the pumpkin that was set out for decoration. I can't believe how close the deer was to the house. I am so excited that this week is Thanksgiving. I am going to make a homemade chocolate cream pie and a homemade apple pie. I love baking and Thanksgiving is a great holiday for it. I don't have to work at Eddie Bauer the day after Thanksgiving so we actually get to go shopping. My husband is a trooper!!:) I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving! Here are the top 6 things that I am thankful for. 1. An amazing and loving husband 2. Living in a beautiful state like Colorado 3. Seeing God work in peoples lives as well as my own life 4. Being a daughter of Christ 5. Owning my own snowboard and being able to snowboard 6. Wild Sweet Orange Tazo Tea (It's my new favorite) What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving? | | |
| He's almost here!Drew should be home in 2.5 hours!!:) | | |
| Jesus is our only satisfaction!I saw that as a bumper sticker on the back of someones car today and it was a great reminder that true contentment and satisfaction only comes through Christ.
Today was an uneventful day. I ran some errands this morning and then I went to work. Thank goodness I am off tomorrow. After work I went to my favorite grocery store (Whole Foods) and picked up my dinner. They have the best carrott cake and today I just could not resist it. After getting dinner I went home and began packing. I wish our apartment could pack itself. I just got back from the YMCA and I am looking forward to Drew calling me in 45 minutes. He gets home tomorrow and I am so excited. They have been having a great time!
I have an interview tomorrow for a new job working at the front desk of a doctors office. The hours would be better so I really hope that it works out. Well I better go for now.
| Peet's Coffee and TeaI am currently sitting at Peet's Coffee and Tea drinking an iced vanilla latte and wishing that it was warm because it is cold in here. I am in Denver visiting my friend Lauren who was one of my roommates from college. She lives in this cute studio apartment in downtown Denver. She is currently at work right now so I am finding ways to entertain myself until she gets off work. We ate lunch at this fun resturant that is very European. I had an amazing turkey sandwich with brie, apricot preserves, tomatos, ground pepper and lettuce on a croissant. It was so good! After Lauren went to work I walked around Cherry Creek mall. It wasn't too exciting because I don't have any money to spend. Shopping just isn't as much fun when you are tired and there is no cash in your wallet to spend on the cute candlestick at Pottery Barn, the delicious candle from Anthropologie, or the practical leather planner from Wilson's Leather. I did get my wedding rings clean and now they are sparkling once again! Denver is so different from Colorado Springs. It doesn't even feel like I am in Colorado because I can't see the mountains. The mountains are so beautiful here. I can't wait for snowboarding season.
Drew left today and they would have been on time but when they stopped at the gas station to fill up the vans the gas didn't go into the tank but just poured out underneath one of the vans. So one of the dad's spent the next two hours looking for parts to fix this minor problem. They finally got it fixed and should almost be to Lander by now. Drew and I were up until 2 am last night doing laundry, packing, and making cookies and muffins. The muffins were kind of a disaster but the cookies turned out well. So I am so tired right now. After Lauren gets off work we are going to some friends party where they are having a pig roast. It should be exciting. I plan on doing a lot of emailing, reading, and writing in my journal for the next three and a half hours until Lauren gets off work. It is relaxing to sit in a coffee shop with my journal in front of me and just let my thoughts and prayers flow out onto the page. It is amazing what God teaches me as I am writing. He brings so much to mind and it helps me to analyze and evaluate where I am. It is fun to go back and read my journal from high school to now. Praise the Lord for sanctification!!:)
| Goodbye My LoveWell my husband is leaving on a missions trip tomorrow to Lander Wyoming to do VBS with a small PCA church. He is going with 16 high school students and three other leaders. Please pray for them while they are gone. It should be a great trip and I am definitely excited for them, but of course I will miss him like crazy. I really wish I could go but I have to stay home and work! :(
I have a new friend and I am so excited! Her name is Shannon and she works as the Youth Ministry Admin. Assistant. I am so excited and it is so fun to have a friend to talk to. She has been married for a year so we have a lot in common.
We are moving apartments soon so our apartment now is currently a disaster. I am looking forward to settling into our new place. We went to this yard sale called the "Tattered Cottage" where these women spend time going to yard sales and then take the things they find and refinish them. They make them into adorable house decorations. We bought some really cute things and I am really looking forward to putting them up in our new apartment.
Marriage is such a blessing from God and I am so thankful for my husband. He does an amazing job of loving me like Christ loves the church and he does such a great job of encouraging me to be more like my Savior.
Well I am off to go shopping for clothes for Drew to wear to the wedding we have to go to in a few weeks in St. Louis!:)
