Couldn't Resist:

"If we are really going to have an effect on controlling our border, we can't be having eight-to-ten year delays on these really small sections [of the fence]," Rep. Duncan Hunter said. "I think we actually waited a full year on a study to see if the gnatcatcher would fly over the fence. While we were analyzing that, tons of cocaine were coming over that border."

its true that fencing is very helpful in certian areas.
its just fencing the ENTIRE border(or even almost entire border) that is really stupid.

debate never dies.

bleh. i came up with a plan early on in the year risa that would've solved all of this...

mandate 1: dig a new canal between mexico and the US since we have now lost control of the panama canal and need a new one anyways

advantages:

a. moat

illegal immigrants will now be forced to swim a huge canal in order to get from mexico to the US

b. negated effects of gobal warming

by digging yet another canal we will decrease the ocean's level by an inch or so, helping to negate the effects of global warming. al gore will back us up on that being a good thing.

c. beautiful landscape.

developers will now be able to sell homes to clients on this new canal with the added bonus of beautiful hills on the mexican side of the canal instead of desert to look at. water, hills...a buyers paradise.

d. revenue

by building a new canal and keeping control of it the US will no longer be forced to send US traffick through the panama canal.

impacts: drug cartels lose money, us economy helped, and bugs bunny becomes your best friend.

...the only holdup to the plan was the lack of solvency authors. *sighs* why can't people be more creative?
