Church Float Trip

Last week I had the opportunity to go on a wonderful 4 day float trip down the Little Susitna River.  I enjoyed camping, and all the challenges that came with having 37 people together  with only what they could pack on a raft or canoe for 4 days.  I enjoyed setting up and shooting off fireworks on one of the nights.  Even though it was not completely dark, I heard many comments about how different ones enjoyed the display.    I spent much time on the fourth day fishing, but unfortunately not catching.  I have posted pictures on my g mail photo site located at http://picasaweb.google.com/futurealaskanpilot/8122007FloatTrip.

Reflections on a Spring Day

Spring has arrived.  After many months of cold, snow, and darkness, I enjoy seeing a change.  Snow melting, sunlight replacing darkness and warmer temperatures driving the cold away.  In fact, today, I had lunch at Subway with a friend, and we decided to eat outside on the tailgate of the pickup and enjoy the wonderful day.  Even this morning, as I sat in an engine test stand monitoring the engine I turned off the heater and enjoyed the wonderful weather.  I have to say that I defiinitely like the different seasons, God did not have to create a world full of color, so diversified, and so unique.  On days like today, praising God for His wonderful and amazing creation comes easy.

Birthday reflections

Today I turned a quarter century old:)  As I look back on my life I thank the Lord that I have been raised in a Christian family.  I have been a Christian for almost 20 years for which I am thankful.  I do not boast in what I have done, but only in that which Christ has done in me.  I have seen that God is faithful every step of the way, even when I have fallen.  I don't know what the future holds, whether it be a hundred years or a day, but I know who holds the Future.  I may not see my 26th Birthday or I might witness my 96th, but one thing is for sure Jesus Christ is coming back soon, when we don't know.  Revelation 3:3 says, "Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; obey it, and repent. But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you."   All He asks is that we trust him as our Savior, and then live everyday as if it was our last, sharing the gospel with all , and looking forward to his return.  If you are reading this and have not yet put your faith in Jesus Christ as your Savior, do not wait.  Do not put it off any longer.  Eternity is too long to be separated from God,  In Revelation 3:20 Jesus says," Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me."  Jesus is knocking will you open the door of your heart?

Thanksgiving Greetings

Last Tuesday night I had the privilege of giving the devotional for the youth group at church, since it was the week of Thanksgiving, I challenged them with what they were thankful for.  I did this using the words Thanksgiving Day, as an acronym with each letter standing for something they were thankful, needless to say we had some interesting responses.  I also sat down thought about it here is what I came up with.  I found it thought provoking.  Try it if you like and see what you come up with.  Take a moment to reflect on how truly blessed we are during this holiday season.  If you would like add your version to the comments section.
