Bird at Death's Door Dilemma

Ok, so you guys might remember my ridiculous, litigious banana peel dilemma from a few weeks ago.  Recap: I found a rotting banana peel in the parking garage at work, and wondered if I should pick it up and deposit it properly in a trashcan.  Conclusion: Don't touch it.  Contamination and Diseases.  Guilt.  haha XD

Today, on my way back home from work, I went to the parking garage and found a barely breathing bird (sparrow?) lying on its back next to the rear right tire of my car.  At first I didn't even recognize it as a bird, because it was on its back and twisted at kind of a weird angle.  I thought it was dead, and then I noticed it was breathing faintly, and looking at me intently, like "Save me!!!"  AhhH!  I thought briefly about taking it outside by somehow balancing it on the windshield scraper in my trunk so as to avoid touching it, but then I was like, how is the bird going to be any better off outside the garage?  It would still be injured.  Also, I'd have to somehow balance it down four flights of stairs, and potentially run into my colleagues.  ...There probably wouldn't be a good explanation for that.

Then I figured that actually helping the bird would require finding medical attention for it.  Thought: what am I going to do, put a tiny cast on its wing?  Take it to a vet, who will then want to know if the bird has insurance?  -____-  Annnd I figured what with all the bird related diseases that have ravaged Asia, it probably wasn't a good idea to handle strange birds.  We're past the day and age where finding an injured bird meant cradling it in your hands and nursing it back to health.  Birds are much more sinister these days.  lol

Feeling super guilty, I decided to leave the bird there.  I steered carefully around it as I left, and tried not to look as the bird pleaded for help with its eyes.  GahhH!  What ethical trial will I find in the parking garage next?  T.T  XD

OMG! LEAVING THE POOR BIRD TO DIE THERE. SHAME ON YOU!

Nah, all of your thoughts make sense =D Unless you were a vet...the only other option would have been to drop it in the grass (where people DON'T walk) and hope for the best =(

Good update! keep it up HAHA

haha I would have picked it up and tried to save it where it would eventually die anyway and I'd still get a disease
